First of all, not a newb.. just a purge victim from the primaries.
JimRob posted almost a month ago about a so called truce between Romney supporters and the rest of the FReeper community. Since then, it appears the left has little job to do in driving a wedge into the right wing, we are doing it still ourselves.
Were is this truce? How come all I see on here is Alinsky tactics of divide and conquer? Today there was a post about Evil Mittie and him fundraising with morning after pill distributors. And the "true blue conservatives" pounce, little do they know that this pill manufacturer is one of the largest generic pill manufactuyrers in the world.. who produce all kind of medicine, even Augmentin, Azithromycin and Cipro, common anti-biotics..
This so called truce makes me sick. Can't wait to read the next half-baked anti-Romney article and the zealot FReepers who will eat up its every word because it furthers the narrative of Romney that THEY want him to fit into.
I'm not upset that people have beliefs that won't "allow" them to vote for Romney.. but what really irritates me is this active campaigning against people who would support Romney.. what game are you trying to pull? To deliver us into 4 more years of Obama servitude, for what purpose?? It strengthens conservatives? Talk about a phyyric victory. If you don't support Romney fine, but we are all anti-Obama here.. lets stay on focus.

I also know former hardcore conservatives who voted for Clinton over George H W Bush because they believed George H W Bush really was going to stop Social Security. Clinton's tactic (as dishonest as it was) worked. That's not horsecrap, that's fact.
I also know that America voted for Obama's handouts above John McCain. That's not horsecrap either, that's fact.
And I also know that there is a tipping point in this society when the unemployment rates gets to a point where even jobless conservatives face depending on the government or splitting up the family... they quickly turn to government handouts and put self-interest and the children above politics. That's human nature. Survival.
If it comes to living in a car with your children or accepting a government hand-out there's a tipping point there where we will lose some conservatives to Obama (especially when the alternative is someone like Romney).
If the alternative were a Ronald Reagan then yes it may be horsecrap. But Mitt Romney is NO Ronald Reagan.

My 75 year old mother is on SS and also has private health insurance. It was provided to her from her job. After she retired she had to pay for it on her own.
I know another woman also in the same situation. In her 70s and on SS but until recently she also paid for her own health insurance. Only thing is, this woman recently dropped her private insurance because she believes Obamacare will now take over. How many of those elderly voters are out there?
Yep. As far as I know, everyone who goes on SS cancels their health insurance the same day or very shortly after.

If Romney’s opponent in 2012 is someone like Clinton running for his 2nd term, Romney would lose in a landslide. Clinton had perfected triangulation, said “era of big gov’t is over” etc etc.
Romney in 2012 has a chance ONLY BECAUSE Obama has such a disastrous record. I actually know republicans who voted for Obama in 2008 because they were tired of Bush, Iraq war etc and fell for Hope & Change. The same people unanimously will vote in 2012 AGAINST Obama. It does not matter to them who the GOP nominee is.

Everyone I ever billed for doctor’s office visits had Medicare and a secondary insurance to cover the rest of the costs.

Well, he’s certainly no place close to being the kind of conservative I’d like him to be. But, you know what, he IS THE KIND OF REPUBLICAN that will sign bills that a conservative House and a (hopefully if we all work hard leading up to this November) newly conservative Republican led Senate will be passing starting in 2013.
And Obama? If Obama somehow slips in IT WILL NOT MATTER IF WE TAKE THE SENATE. Obama would simply not sign any meaningful conservative legislation—he’d instead just obstruct and let the country continues its decline. That is his objective, you should have no doubt of that. Don’t let him divide us. I agree with the opening poster that we should, with all our hearts, support the truce between conservatives this election year. Our country depends upon it among other things.

I am getting real tired of being told that I am supporting Obama by default if I don’t vote for Romney. I thought the truce was about not cajoling or attacking anyone over this issue any more.
