>>THC (marijuana) produces effects 30 minutes to an hour after exposure....and the effects usually last up to 4 hours.

What is your source for this data? My (many years past)experience with pot demonstrated that it works within 30 seconds. I think the lungs absorb it pretty much instantaneously

The drug causes dopamine release which produces euphoria. Some users feel sleepy or depressed after using, some experience anxiety or panic.

Even low doses of THC impair concentration and coordination.

Maybe. 4 generations of rock and jazz musicians would beg to differ. My experience is that pot enhances concentration to the point of obsessiveness. It also enhances perception- colors are more intense, hearing is sharpened, sex is through the roof, esthetic sense is enhanced and enjoyment is derived from often mundane pursuits such as daytime TV watching. I used to get stoned and watch Lawrence Welk with my grandma and couldn’t wait for Myron Florin to make his accordion do the bugaloo. You show me how the bridging of generations could be otherwise so generously facilitated. Cannabis is the couch potato drug of choice, next to Cheetos and Tang. It’s pretty harmless in less than mission critical situations. I wouldn’t want my airline pilot to become esthetically fixated on all the pretty landing lights.

The SRM is out of their environment with this story. They thought they could shape the argument to fit their narrative until the facts came out in public.

Nathan, I was in the military for almost 40 years and have to admit I've heard every code word about drugs. Sneaky little bastards.

Yeah, it’s amazing how Zimmerman is all of a sudden “multi-racial” when the MSM’s storyline of the “racist white man slaughters unarmed innocent child,” starts collapsing like a house of cards.

Funny how that works.

“Thorazine... haladol????”

Hi, wardaddy: Drugs can act sometimes differently for differently people.

My Grandfather was in his 80’s and had moved in with my parents after my Grandmother died and he couldn't take of himself anymore.

My Mother told his doctor (doctor specializing in elder patients) my Grandfather was always in to something, had set a fire with the stove, all kinds of things.

So, the doctor prescribed haladol (sic?) to calm him down so my Mother could take care of him without going nuts.

The day after he started haladol, he split logs in the backyard so the wood would be ready for winter. This was in the summertime. He split logs all day long.

I think they changed his prescription. Haladol should have leveled him out but it just made him more agitated than before.

Just weirdness....

I had an African American friend in college.
Most laid back, good guy you’d ever meet.
Turned down race based scholarships.
Fun to drink with.

But man, one puff on a joint, and he was the meanest most belligerent person you’d ever meet.

I recall him causing a huge seen at a Wendys’ once. He claimed the server gave him cold fries. He proceeded to throw them at her and wouldn’t stop yelling at her until we all made him leave.

BAD sentence construction. I should have said that one of our cases was a professional diver that drowned under those circumstances based on the investigation. He and his victim had a freezer full of white powder that they thought was cocaine. Bad buy, it was PCP. They had an argument while under the influence of PCP and the victim/friend looked like he was chopped while turning on a turntable or a spit. Interesting pattern of cuts and defensive wounds from a machete. A witness saw the diver trying to, at least that how it looked to him, wash the clothes he was still wearing while standing knee deep in water. The witness did not see him drown. No waves.

Urinalysis paperwork that comes from the Air Force Drug Testing Laboratory when somebody tests positive for a banned substance. It’s what the prosecution relies on to prove its case where there are no witnesses to the use - called a “naked U/A” case.

Fox News report this afternoon said there were a lot of documents (as if to say they had not had time to analyze everything yet). They highlighted the point that a cop wanted Zimmerman charged with manslaughter because he hadn't stayed in his car.

From what I understand, he was out of his car when he first saw Trayvon, and after being told they didn't need him to keep following Trayvon, he was on his way back to the car when Trayvon jumped him.

So how does that make him guilty of not staying in his car?

Some of the witnesses confirmed that it was Zimmerman calling for help. One woman thought that the guy on top was the heavier man. That doesn't fit what we know of Trayvon and Zimmerman's relative sizes, but it was dark and she may have been questioned some time afterwards. Anyway I think it is common for eyewitnesses to have conflicting memories of what they saw.

Fox seemed to want to support the special prosecutor as much as they could. Later Bill O'Reilly was talking about what a great guy Crump is (the Martins' lawyer).

Yes, they will have to prove from Zimmerman’s statement that he was looking for a fight - stalking Martin so that Martin felt threatened and attacked him in self defense.

From what I know, Zimmerman was trying to see where Martin was going so he could tell the dispatcher -he was not trying to challenge Martin. He was a attacked after he told the dispatcher that he had lost sight of Martin as he was returning to his car. If he had done what the cop in that report suggested and had spoken to Martin, then they would blame him for “fighting words” or some stupid excuse.

Fox news jumped on the bandwagon along with the Republican that commented in support of the witch hunt in it’s early stages. At that point they did not know enough to say anything at all. They became a part of the lynch mob by joining the klan with the tan. The have the blood of innocent whites who have been attacked by jacked up black racist mobs, on their hands. I will have to say Bill O has reported on and denouced one of the hate crimes that happened in Va. to a couple of white reporters. They have ignored all the other black on white hate cases.

If this prosecutor has no evidence supporting second degree murder charges - she pulled a Nifong and must be sued an prosecuted like he was.

Just my snide shot at the media’s over-the-top attempt initially to paint Martin as a model young lad - almost “saintly” - who was murdered in a cold blooded hate crime solely because he was Black. As the truth emerges, evidence mounts that he was certainly not an innocent young saint, and this is simply another piece of such evidence.

All generalizations are false. ;-D Many people are mellowed by pot ... which is why many people can truthfully say that all the pot users they ever knew found pot mellowing ... which is why many people sincerely believe that pot is always mellowing. I suspect (have no objective stats at hand) that pot is mellowing for most users - but I don't doubt that there are a few "mean stoners" like there are many "mean drunks."

I wish I had confidence that Zimmerman will get a fair trial under the circumstances. Watching this unfold has weakened any faith I had in our legal system when politics is involved. I'm lucky that my own experiences have been limited to jury duty and traffic court (for having a tail light that wasn't working).

I assume Fox isn't as bad as the others (but don't watch the others). They were still slanting the coverage this morning--when they showed a clip of Trayvon in the store they said "15 or 20 minutes before he was shot" when there was previous evidence indicating it was more like an hour (meaning he had been wandering around looking at the houses where no one was home for a while), and they said he had consumed marijuana within the last three weeks.

The idea seems to be that Zimmerman has to prove he did not start the confrontation--he is the only living witness and if they tell the jurors "don't believe him, he's lying" then the prosecutor can just construct a scenario where he is the aggressor, like the special prosecutor did, based on Trayvon's girlfriend's recollection of the phone conversation.

O'Reilly has been poor on this topic. Hannity was good at first but seems to have been scared off.

Santorum was the one who jumped on the anti-Zimmerman bandwagon.

I think black anti-Semitism was a factor too--either Sharpton or some other rabble-rouser got the idea that Zimmerman is Jewish and that may have played a part in them wanting him punished. Zimmerman is a Catholic and I haven't seen any evidence that the family was ever Jewish (the surname is derived from an occupation and isn't necessarily Jewish--I had a classmate in high school named Zimmerman who was a Catholic).

I think you are right about that. The Klan with the Tan thought Zimmerman was a twofer enemy: White and Jewish. Turns out he’s an American mutt and Catholic. The Klan hates Catholics, too. In truth, they hate anyone who is not Black. Like all racists...

If the judge does not throw out the charges, a jury will decide the case. Z has a very good lawyer. The left and their media tried to do this kind of witch hunt against some white men at Duke and were not successful.

Fox News is more and more becomming a p.c. group think operation. They are intolerant of anyone disagreeing with the p.c. political and social line. They came out against Zimmerman and they will stay that way until he’s proven innocent. That is up-side-down because in our justice system Zimmerman does not have to prove he’s innocent - the prosecutor has to prove he’s guilty and that is the only way they should be looking at this case. But p.c. is an up-side-down system of thought - what is good is evil and what is evil is good.

There are good people in the Sanford area and hopefully some will get on the jury. All it will take is one to get a hung jury - if worse comes to worse. Don’t worry.
