Here's the real deal on these folks:

"We couldn't get enough votes for our guy to win the primaries and, thus, the nomination. But we have enough votes to screw the other guy over and then the GOP-e will take notice!"

"But, even at the cost of continuing the rush to destruction of Obama?"

"Hey, we're taking a principled, moral approach to the situation!"

"So it's more principled and moral to continue the certainty of the past 4 years than to interrupt that with the possibility of being able to do something different?"
