Ron Paul ends his hunt for votes
Washington Times ^ | 5/14/2012 | Stephen Dinan

Posted on 05/14/2012 12:11:34 PM PDT by Kevin C

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas said Monday he will not compete in primaries in any of the states that have not yet voted — essentially confirming Mitt Romney will win the Republican presidential nomination. Mr. Paul said he will continue to work for delegates in states that have already voted and where the process of delegate-selection is playing out. He said that’s a way to make his voice heard at the nominating convention in Tampa, Fla., in August. “Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted,” Mr. Paul said. “Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.” He did encourage his supporters to still turn out and vote. His decision not to compete for new votes in other states leaves Mr. Romney as the only candidate still actively fighting for voters’ support.

There is no evidence anywhere that suggests he will do otherwise.

True....

Outside of 4 years as governor and a campaign for a seat in the senate and a run for POTUS.

You mean we have “evil” Freepers? Who are they so I can avoid them.

When a self-proclaimed Progressive is found to be heading the Republican ticket...

Yes, that is true. Romney claims himself as Progressive.

If the “choice of evils” is again the best the twin-party sham can do in 2012, genuine conservatives have no choice but to reject both the choice and the partisan process 'Being Stage Managed' to produce it.

I believe neither Romney nor Obama are good for this country and on equal par with one another.....I will vote, but not adhere my signature to a socialist agenda...I may have to ride that cat along with everybody else but I sure don't have to give it my consent!...and I will not...... My vote will be against them both.

Best I can tell none of you get it. Ron Paul never been about Ron Paul. It has always been about taking back the Republican party from the corrupt establishment that gives us Romney’s and McCain’s, and what is coming is going to knock a bunch of you on your keisters.

And why is Dr. Ron Paul fighting this fight? Because he is the one candidate that truly loves his country.

Face it, Romney is for Romney and is for whatever HE thinks will get him elected.

Yeah, this is pretty much what I think. Given the alternative I think the wise, patriotic thing to do is to try to work with this for the time being.

Just like 0bama.

I think Obama is more of a genuine America-hating leftist than Romney is a genuine anything. But it doesn't really matter. Obama is running as a leftist and leads a leftist party. If re-elected he will pursue leftism as much as he can, when he's not vacationing, playing golf, or watching basketball on tv.

The ones here, and there are a good number of them, who are actively working to get Obama re-elected are seeking to do evil.

However, it is not enough to avoid them. The cause of liberty demands that you oppose them.

You are also pretty much a nut, and wouldn’t know truth if it cooked up yer’ viddles and handed them to you.

Romney is a self proclaimed Progressive. This is an undisputed fact.

You can thank me later. After you apologize.

Romney claims himself as Progressive.

He does not and you lie when you claim otherwise.

Um...

okey dokey...

And if he wants to push his Romneycare (or anything else) on us there is no indication that the GOP in congress won't go along due to pressure to agree with one of their own.

In essence there will be no opposition party if Mitt is not as you are trying to promise. And evidence is against you to date whether you like it or not.

Sorry I can only celebrate a Romney victory a few ticks more than I can celebrate an Obama defeat.

Game over.

Either on the 22nd of this month, or on the 29th when Texas votes, Romney will clear the 1,144 delegate count threshold and have the delegates to assure his nomination.

I was for Sarah 1st, then Cain, the Santorum, and then Newt. I do not trust Romney's liberal record from a "purest" conservative standpoint.

But when I look at the issues/platform he has established to run on and been committing to these last many months, it is a good platform, and something we can hold him to as opposed to the wretched Obama who is promising more "fundamental change" and destruction to America...in fact, he will double down on it in a second term.

That makes my choice in the contest between Obama and Romney clear.

In order to defeat Obama, which we desperately need, Romney will have to continue gaining support, all over the country.

With Obama actions as President, ongoing as they are towards the far left, I believe Romney will...and I hope it is so.

This is a lie and everyone here knows it including you.

Romney is running for President as a conservative. Again, everyone here knows this is true including you.

"Nutty? There's about a 100 million American that agree with about 90% of what he says."

I'm part of this 100 million. Unfortunately, the 10% includes really delusional stuff like the Jooze conspiring to take over the world and no need to confront Islamofacism, because we provoke it by having our people over there. Plus, there's a certain element among his supporters that make fascist brown-shirts look like Cub Scouts competing at a pinewood derby by comparison.

I agree with you! I can't vote for Paul because of the Palistinian vs. Israel crap and the absolutlely delusional idea that it's fine for Islamists to have nukes because they love us so much that they want to kill everyone of us and everyone who doesn't agree with them. Duh

The sad thing is that currently the only people who are talking about the Constitution are Paulites and preservation (or more accurately restoration) of the Constitution is what will save us.

I will vote for Romney even though I despise him because if Obama wins, I and mine might as well be dead and if Romney stops the destruction of the economy to a sufficient extent, somebody better may be able to salvage the country before we are actually destroyed. Pretty sad.

Ah! Well! The above explains why R-U-N Paul has ended his hunt for votes./s

At the State GOP Convention in Phoenix over the weekend, “making his voice heard” meant “shouting Romney’s son off the stage.” I think the jury is still out on whether that’s a good thing. It’s certainly a classless thing, but Romney’s hands are not clean that way either.

Because you don’t know squat, I’m a liar?

He's been stomping his feet and calling everyone a liar that rightly critiques Romney's lack of Conservative values.

I don't know if you're old enough to remember, but before 9/11 there were there Hari Krishna guys in orange robes who hung around at airports. If you engaged them in Christian Apologetics - I was trained by Jesuits, albeit a poor student - they would hold their ears and start chanting louder and louder.

You're dealing with one of the GOPe's orange robes; knows the party name and the chants, but none of the underlying Conservative philosophy - which in truth is Classical Liberalism/Reaganism.
