It’s been the consensus Romney was the nominee for awhile.

If the trend the last couple of days holds up and starts seeping into other polls then the likely culprit would have to be considered backlash to the gay marriage endorsement.

There are some liberal/libertarians that want to believe and are pushing propaganda gay marriage is a “winning’ issue but they are incorrect. Romney is still a weak candidate but there are people who have been resistant to him that may soften over this. I’m not going to be one of them. He’s a fraud. I am voting for nobody this election. Sticking to the issues up for a vote and that is it since I have no Scott Walker worth championing here.

It wasn’t too long ago Wisconsin was considered a liberal state. Marginally so. Bush didn’t lose by too great a deficit but still liberal. Many of those people who put Walker and Johnson into office voted for Feingold and Obama so it isn’t unimaginable they would be receptive to Obama when the alternative is the watered down liberal Romney.

Could also be as simple as liberals having a willingness to re-elect Obama while a number of conservatives so willing to re-elect Walker plan on abstaining with Romney.

My sense is that people nationally don’t like Romney and don’t want to elect him. Polls seem to reflect that in the likability question. But Obama keeps pressing their buttons. Just how far can he go before enough people relent and push Romney relunctantly to one term. I don’t know the answer. I’m committed firmly against any vote no matter the circumstamce but consider myself an outlier n this one. So it’s just a matter of what issue fially pushes people completely over the edge. Could be gay marriage if Rass’s polls are accurate.

They play the race card and they will lose the Reagan Democrats who are underemployed and the last thing they need is become targets for angry black youths. Race card is like a nuke. It may initially stop whitey in his tracks, but the fallout will haunt the blacks who use it.

Yep.. and Reuters, too. Their recent “0bama Love” poll sampling was 49% dems, 37% repubs amd 14% other.

The Washington Pest didn`t even show its by-party-affiliation sampling. I strongly suspect it was similar.

And the NBC-Marist polls in April were downright laughable with their “results.”

Is it possible you're replying to the wrong poster? I'm not the one who advanced the theory that Obama wouldn't have eaten dog meat because of a Muslim prohibition. Saying a thing is 'plausible' is not the same as advocating it.

Otoh, I do harbor skepticism of Obama’s little vignette. This is because he's such a complete and total pathological liar. I.e.: the very fact that a liar on this order of magnitude says something happened is sufficient grounds to doubt it. If you've never known a raging, extreme uber-Malignant Narcissist, then you have no idea the degree to which they lie. The disorder is such that you could literally say of Obama, ‘He lies, therefore he is’.

Iow, his entire being, history and identity is a lie. Nothing he thinks or says about himself is true. It's all an elaborate fantasy that he first began to weave at a very, very young age [probably when he was around 5]. The fantasy becomes more far fetched and detached from reality w every year he lives. By this point in time, Obama has no grounding in reality whatsoever—not even a shred. He believes his own lies, and hasn't the vaguest clue that they are antipodal to the truth.

Everything in Dreams that can be fact-checked has been found to be false. That leaves only items that can't be checked because the relevant records have been sealed, hidden or destroyed, or because it's a case where all you have is Obama’s word for it. But again, the very fact that he claims it's true is grounds for doubt. This is a very, very sick man. Only after decades of purposeful dumbing down would Americans have elected a man w zero accomplishments and a Personality Disorder this severe. He's a moonbat dream come true—but a nightmare to the rest of us.

I’m guessing a lot of moderate-suburbanite type voters have too much white guilt to turn against him like they would a similarly incompetent and failed white Democrat.

I thought the law was specifically written so that the individual mandate is NOT severable from the main law. IE, if the mandate goes down, the whole law goes down.

Dems did it that way on purpose, just SO the mandate wouldn’t go down, that’s how important it is to them.

Been reading since law was passed it can’t be severed. At least I thought that was the jist of it.

I thought the law was specifically written so that the individual mandate is NOT severable from the main law.

There was supposed to be a severability clause in the bill, but that was mistakenly left out of the bill. Thus, ObamaCare says nothing regarding severability. In that situation, courts presume the legislature intended severability.

That presumption is overcome if either (1) it is proven that the legislature intended the unconstitutional provision to be nonseverable or (2) the unconstitutional provision is seen as essential (the law can not reasonable function without it).

You've got to be kidding me. "Mistakenly" left out? All that hullabaloo about that health care bill and one of the most important parts of the bill they "mistakenly" left out?

I gotta bridge to sell anybody believes this. My guess is that they told all those concerned that the Supremes would overturn any mandate that the bill would allow the mandate to be severed and the health care system overhaul would still move forward.

Only somebody done went and "mistakenly" left it out, just doggone.

If Romney manages to pull out a win, it will be entirely due to the the Anyone But Obama vote.
I admit I never would choose Romney except in a race against Obama. My prayer is that the GOP holds or adds to their advantage in the House and gets the Senate back and basically leads President Romney along a conservative road. Might be ridiculous but hopefully it will prove true.

This is the initial run of my Rasmussen state-by-state Senate model.

The model begins with the final results of the last Class 1 election, and I will update those results with current Rasmussen state polls as they are published.

I'll begin by listing the states that have recent polls, and then list the states that are still within the margin-of- error.

Final 2010 Senate results were Republicans taking 47 seats, and Democrats caucusing 53 seats. My model begins here.

Below are the first round of state polls. The first number is the change in GOP result from the last poll (or seat election if no prior poll), and the second number is the separation from the Democrat candidate's result. "No Poll" means the state's last final election vote is within the default margin of error (4.5%). For incumbants, the seat will be considered safe until a new poll is taken.

Watch List:

Using the most recent Rasmussen polls, the results of 32,000 simulated elections are listed in the table below. The definitions of the columns are:

Week GOP
Senate
Seats
P10
GOP
Senate
Seats
EV
GOP
Senate
Seats
P90
Probability
of 51
GOP
Gain
2010 Election 47 47 47 0.00% 0
11-May-12 50 51.24 52 77.01% 4

We know the type of judicial appointees Obama will appoint: in-your-face, unapolgetic leftists. He’s already appointed two but two or three more will seal the fate of this county for a decade or more.

That is a most disturbing certainty of four more years of this chraracter. This is on top of his Marxist economic leanings.

A SCOTUS comprised of (5) hard leftists for the next 10-15 years will be catastrophic for a country that leans center-right

Even should Romney replace Kennedy and Ginsburg with two moderates we might stand a snowball’s chance. Anything more is gravy, anything less is a disaster of the first order.

Me too.

Why I will Vote for Romney should he win the GOP Nomination
http://www.jeffhead.com/Romney2012.htm

If I were to take the issues that Romney’s campaign has listed as its platform for running for President, and remove his name from it, anyone of us would say that that is an excellent set of standards to run on and base a Prsidency on.

Mitt Romney’s Stated Campaign Goals/Issues
http://www.mittromney.com/issues/

(Check out the values section to counter these claims that Romney is Pro Abortion and Pro Homsexual)

He is promising to run on those things. Obama, OTOH, is promising to continue to “fundamentall change,” America and double down on it in a second term. He want to destroy America and our way of life because he despises it.

The Man who Despises America
http://www.jeffhead.com/obama-time.htm

The choice is clear...and thank goodness that those who are biggoted against Romney (mainly because of his faith) are so few in number. But it is their choice to make and I understand those, who are not bigoted against his faith who choose to not vote for him because of his past, even though I disagree with it.

He was my last choice...and I dislike and distrust his former record. But he says he has changed and he has developed a platform to punctuate it.

So we have Romney with a liberal background indicating he has seen the light and running on very conservative promises versus Obama who is actively destroying the country and proud of it and promising four more years of the same, accellerating that effort.

Pretty easy choice for me.
