I think we should at the very least, help rebuild the Japanese navy and air force seeing that we pretty much forced them to not have either for 60 years. In hindsight, one of the dumbest moves we have ever made.
We did it because they would have tried to have another go if we didn’t.
Today it is to late. A nation of old men will not fight a war. If we want to project power, and help our allies, send a lot of hardwar to the Phillipnes.
