Evangelical pastor tells Obama he's disappointed [but supportive]
Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | 5/9/12 | Rachel Zoll

The evangelical pastor who President Barack Obama calls his spiritual adviser says he's disappointed in the president's decision to endorse same-sex marriage.

The Rev. Joel Hunter of Florida told The Associated Press that Obama called him before ABC News broadcast the announcement Wednesday.

Hunter says he told the president he disagreed with his interpretation of what the Bible says about marriage. Hunter says the president reassured him he would protect the religious freedom of churches who oppose gay marriage.

Hunter says the announcement makes it harder for him to support Obama, but he will continue to do so

Joel Hunter is a useful idiot of the MSM, an “Evangelical” “Christian” who thinks like they do, and who is trotted out under just these circumstances, to trumpet to the Sheeple that, Hey - it MUST be ok for homos to get married if this pastor is for it!

Amazing: Anyone remember how even Juan McPain chose to DEMONIZE the famously pro-Israel San Antonio Pastor John Hagee as somehow anti-Semitic, when the MSM falsely painted Hagee as such. (Hagee’s church has the flag of Israel tacked to a wall in the main worship hall.) ... and Hagee was trying to support the loser McPain.

Now, we see the MSM fawning over an ersatz “evangelical” who cannot even find it in his heart to take “The Undocumented One” to task for using “Jesus” as one of his motivations for supporting the abomination described as “gay marriage.”

Can we be frank? This pastor is a Liberal. If he is an “evangelical,” then, so be it, the “Evangelicals” have gone Liberal.

I know: I am an evangelical. Liberalism infected the mainstream protestant denominations in this country in the 1940s through the 1960s and beyond. Now, Liberalism has found a foothold in “evangelical” circles. Screw them.

does the phrase “useful idiot” mean a thing to you?

It’s what he sees every morning while shaving.

I will always say that anyone who supports gay marriage most likely wants to be in one.

Well, Obama won’t lose a single black vote over this. Latino votes, that’s another matter; I suppose Obama has decided that since neither California or Texas are battleground states he doesn’t need to worry about it. We’ll see.

He’ll sicken a lot of folks, and embolden others. Too early to say that this will be a wash.

I think there's no way this is anything other than a loss for Obama and the left.

He was desperate and threw a Hail Mary.

He gains nothing, he loses either a little or a lot, and he tells everyone that he has to resort to gimmicks six months out.

This fires up conservatives, is a net downer for the left, and makes whatever trick he pulls next even less effective than it otherwise would have been.

So he is pro-homosexuality and pro-abortion....and it’s considered off-limits to challenge his Christianity?

In tough economic times Americans vote their pocketbook. In good economic times Americans vote values. Unfortunately for our Dear Leader, his sudden "coming out" for gay marriage will anger much of America, which will now add values into his losing equation. He's lost on the economy, he's now lost on values---the only thing left is the military. Watch out.

I absolutely disagree. When that curtain is drawn in the voting booth and it's just that voter and the good Lord, there's going to be a LOT of African American churchgoers who won't vote for Obama over this.

Obama’s “spiritual adviser” desperately needs spiritual advice himself.

This so called pastor is contributing to Obama’s damnation. If he had any Christian love for him at all he would warn him of his spiritual condition. Does he even have a clue? Does he know Jesus? I could doubt it, but if he does, he is failing miserably in his duty towards a lost soul.

Any churches except Catholic Churches, of course.

A 2008 article about blacks in CA voting for Obama, but against gay marriage. The large black vote against Proposition 8 helped defeat it.

This so-called pastor loves Obama more than he loves the Word of God. No integrity.
