This is the ultimate in narcissism. Obama, commenting upon his sudden public approval of gay marriage, was just shown stating that he couldn't stand the idea of soldiers and sailors out there fighting on HIS behalf when they were not free to be in gay relationships.
Forget the gay marriage issue. Our military is fighting on HIS behalf?

And in order to make yourself feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and efforts to belittle the other person to make yourself appear better.

But by definition, a narcissistic personality disorder causes problems in many areas of your life, such as relationships, work, school or your financial affairs. I mentioned this on an earlier thread but certainly appreciate you giving it a thread of it’s own. This attitude is far more offensive than almost anything else he has done. I can’t think of anything he has said that is more troubling but I fear that it will be lost in the emotional reaction to the gay marriage question.

I think he meant “my behalf” as in an American citizen. I mean, when I say that people died for my right to vote, I don’t mean that I personally hired them or they enlisted in WWII knowing that I personally would be born one day.
There is enough to get Obama on without manufacturing a crisis every time the guy takes two steps.
Wasn’t it Indonesia and wasn’t Suharto the so-called President, in power for decades with virtual absolute power? And didn’t Obama spend his formative years in Indonesia? Childhood experience can have a profound and lasting influence.
