Florida nabs white supremacists planning "race war."

Ten alleged members of a white supremacist group training near Orlando and Disney World for a "race war" have been rounded up in a series of arrests in central Florida, authorities said on Tuesday.

The arrests were based on evidence from a confidential informant who infiltrated the neo-Nazi organization known as the American Front 17 months ago, according to an arrest affidavit.

"The American Front (AF) is a military-styled, anti-Semitic, white supremacist, skinhead organization and is known as a domestic terrorist organization," the affidavit said.

The New Black Panther Party is calling for a militia of 5,000 black volunteers to capture Trayvon's killer, George Zimmerman, who's in hiding. The small group has posted flyers calling for his capture "dead or alive." That's in addition to the $10,000 bounty the group is offering for Zimmerman's capture.

The group was also planning a "disturbance" at Orlando City Hall to recruit new members, according to court documents.

I counted 9 people in this "white supremacist group" which tells me they're a group of nut jobs who've probably known each other for years and have nothing better to do. In our Tampa newspaper yesterday it said they were guilty of (paraphrasing a little) "Paramilitary operations meant to disrupt civil order" which, the article went on to say, was a violation of Florida's "hate crime laws".

This is interesting because it means you are a criminal if you are doing something legal, but with the wrong intent. This might be like saying that buying fertilizer is a crime if the intent is to make a bomb (which, obviously, it's the making of the bomb itself that is more properly considered the illegal act).

I also find myself wondering if they were "planning a race war" or "planning for a race war", which are two entirely different things. The article seems to be deliberately vague on that.

Some of the so-called “charges” are real howlers. The rankest are keeping two pit bulls to guard their leader’ s property and having it fenced with bsrbrd wire. My, my two dogs for protection, a barbed wire fence and owning guns. How many ordinary citizens do the same things and similar things. These muts are a definite disgrace to the white race, just not as much as Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman’s attempted murderer was to the black race, but simply being walking crimes against nature doesn’t make them criminals.
