President Obama's position on same sex marriage might be "evolving," as he's admitted himself, but he wasn't always so unclear about where he stood. Consider this interview from 2004:
Q: Mr. Obama, you've said that your religious faiths, your religious faith, dictates that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Would you elaborate on that?
OBAMA: Well, what I believe is that marriage is between a man and a woman, but what I also believe is that we have an obligation to make sure that gays and lesbians have the rights of citizenship that afford them visitations to hospitals, that allow them to be, to transfer property between partners, to make certain that they're not discriminated on the job. I think that bundle of rights are absolutely critical.
Q: Excuse me, but as far as, why? What in your religious faith calls you to be against gay marriage?
OBAMA: Well, what I believe, in my faith, is that a man and a woman, when they get married, are performing something before God, and it's not simply the two persons who are meeting. But that doesn't mean that that necessarily translates into a position on public policy or with respect to civil unions. What it does mean is that we have a set of traditions in place that, I think, need to be preserved, but I also think we have to make sure that gays and lesbians have the same set of basic rights that are in place. And I was glad to see, for example, that the president today apparently stated that he was in favor of civil unions. This may be a reversal of his position but I think it's a healthy one.

GUESS he has evolved out of the closet about his view on homosexual marriages. When is he going to come all the way out of his closet and share with the whole world he is America’s first bi swinging President..clear up his own homosexual rumors too? What a whizbang ad that would be,,,,he will for sure get the homo vote.
What a skunk.
There is no such thing as civil rights, black rights, women’s rights, gay rights, et al.
The ONLY RIGHTS are Constitional Rights and they are bestowed not by men or government but by God.
The Constitution acknowleges, endorses and guarantees those rights.
Note to self: quit typing on you tablet!
I am single. I have no children.
I can be visited by anyone I choose in any hospital in the country......
I can and will bequeath any property I wish to anyone I wish in my will—regardless of my relationship to that person===IF ANY.
I can own anything I want with any other person I wish to do so.....
This is all a very dense smoke screen from the LBGT crowd.
What they REALLY want is all the health benefits and TAX benefits that heterosexual persons already have in a traditional relationship. Employers will not buy into that because of the black hole of expense with AIDS & other sexually transmitted diseases.
I was clearly told in the early 70’s by a group of gay guys I worked with in Hollywood that they wanted such health benefits because they could not afford to pay for their own treatments for their own behavior. They also made it clear they would NOT change their behavior.
OBAMA: I don’t think marriage is a civil right,...”
I heard somewhere that Obama was a Constitutional law professor.
You are so correct!
“The ONLY RIGHTS are Constitional Rights and they are bestowed not by men or government but by God.”
“Rights that are conferred by the government on certain classes of people (like “civil rights, black rights, womens rights, or “gay rights”), are intended to trivialize natural, God given rights. Another trivializing concept is “Human Rights”, which might conceivably lump in lump in real rights with “the human right to a cell phone” or a “color television”.
It’s pretty simple, really.
At the time he was still securing the churchgoing black vote.
So when do I get my Shelby Mustang, LOL!
