Attention "Anyone But Obama" (ABO) FReepers! If you go to the thread at the link you will will see that JimRob has "declared a truce" and hundreds of ABO FReepers are now vigorously defending their belief, which I share, that the ineligible Marxist Manchurian MUST BE DEFEATED to preserve the Republic...without fear of "the ZOT"! Please consider a DONATION not just to fund renewal of expression and amplification of your ABO views, but let's over-achieve this FReepathon to get JR his new equipment!
IMO, Free Republic and FReepers could be vital in swing states in rallying just enough conservatives to tip the election and prevent our troops from having to salute for even one day longer than necessary an ineligible Marxist committed to destroying the USA !
Could you please at least reconsider your barrage of "ABO" as this euphemism for (potential) Romney voters, etc. (& others who will seek to find "safe haven" under that umbrella?)?
I mean, 4 more "ABO" euphemisms in this post...gives you 35 for this thread in 18 posts...A nice "twice" average per post...
The pro-aborts learned that if you repeat "pro-choice" enough, it sticks...
And we've had a few posts from at least two people planning on voting for Romney who concede this is an obvious euphemism...but haven't called you out on it.
Well, I am.
ALL: I addressed this once earlier (post 1,210) but wanted to reinforce what I said there...that it doesn't matter what Romney's own "personal machinations" are -- or aren't -- re either inflicting Mormonism upon the public-at-large or associated concerns...
What needs to be "vetted" is the Mormon "prophet" and future Mormon "prophets" during any of the 4-8 years Romney could be in the White House. What are their machinations -- based upon the "track record" of previous Lds "prophets" and other general authorities?

Thanks for holding the line on anti-Christian bigotry Jim.
To solidify conservative backing for 2014 and 2016, I expect shameless opportunist Romney, the man without a core, to be the most zealous advocate and practitioner of constitutional conservatism as president including, as I said, getting advanced blessing from the Federalist Society for his SCOTUS nominations.
Thank you for your response.
If you would check several times where I've already posted this (graphs below)...you'll see I don't assume that (see especially the 3 graphs just below the 5-bullet-points section):
If people want to understand how Mormonism's approach to the socio-political realm, they may want to read these two articles (the first written by a Mormon; the second by an ex-Mormon):
* Mitt Romney mirrors his Mormon church [Lds writer says Romney flip-flops 'cause Lds church has/does]
* Who is Mitt Romney? [Ex-Lds author reveals why Mitt's wishy-washy culture waffles & flip-flops]
In the first linked article above, Mormon Neal Chandler highlights how in the 19th century...
* Mormons forced communism upon its people -- and then not (United Order)
* Adhered to theocracies under its first two "prophets" -- and then slowly drew back
* Said polygamy was a condition of the highest degree of glory -- and then not
* Encourage its Utah Territory voters to be Democrats -- and then told whole groups of people wholesale to "balance it out" as Republicans as statehood approached
* Excluded blacks -- and then late in the 20th century not
From the second article linked above: What makes Mitt the kind of person he is ruthlessly opportunistic, dishonest, insincere, willing to say anything for advantage, lacking in conscience, preoccupied with appearance, etc., on the one hand, yet squeaky clean, family-oriented, disciplined, boring, and predictable, on the other? My new e-book, A Mormon Story, sheds light on the culture that produced Mitt Romney.
Good question. (It's one I've raised -- and answered numerous times on various FR threads)
The answer, says this ex-Mormon in the book referenced above is: (From the article): The book reveals a VALUE SYSTEM that ultimately has no absolutes, other than the need to conform to deep-seated, highly-controlling authoritarianism that pervades LDS culture. That culture emphasizes a Mormon tradition known as "eternal progression" undoctrinal spiritual evolution in which even God is changing. It also emphasizes the notion that the latest words of governing church leaders trump the Word of God found in the scriptures (including LDS scripture).
IOW, EVERYTHING in Mormonism -- from its theology to its social practices -- is up for potential change at the whim of the Mormon god. Bottom-line: There is no bottom-line in Mormonism! There is no bedrock doctrine that cannot be replaced!
There isn't even an Ultimate god in Mormonism...Nobody knows who the gods are that were part of the council which appointed the god of this world -- a former man, say Mormons.
So there's not even any Ultimate Authority in Mormonism!
To solidify conservative backing for 2014 and 2016, I expect shameless opportunist Romney, the man without a core...
"Without a core" -- perhaps then...but not without moorings...you don't give 10% of your income...receive promises of having a family live together forever...receive promises of becoming a full-grown-up "god" of your own world...minus moorings...an anchor...[and don't assume the "puppets" in Salt Lake City are agenda-less]...
While it's true those "prophet" puppeteers meander (see those bullet points above), it doesn't mean they are not operating upon temporal/seasonal relativistic purposes.
It is imperfect shorthand, but in the context of my opening post on this thread and in the context of JimRob’s TRUCE declaration to which this thread linked (and the TRUCE declaration re-posted in this thread) it should be clear that persons who actually SUPPORT Romney, as in admire Romney and believe he is a sincere candidate, are NOT covered by the TRUCE and are not invited back to posting overt support for Romney on FR.
I only had so many characters to put in the limited space of the allowed FR title and I wanted to jam in a lot of concepts in a small space. The thread, warts and all (including two who thought I said JR had been called a RINO), has drawn 1300 comments!
I don't accept the literal meaning of “ABO” because I would not vote for a candidate who would harm the Republic MORE that Obama just to avoid voting for Obama. That would be unpatriotic, IMO. But the anti-Obama FReepers who also loathed Romney and who took offense at comments that were made about them before the TRUCE to the point of demanding to be Zotted self identified as “ABO.”
In view of the loss of the extra funding for Jim's equipment in this FReepathon I devised a title for a thread that would most clearly invite these self-identifying ABO FReepers who also loathed Romney to read the thread, find out about the TRUCE if they had missed it and reconsider that cancellation of donation or withheld donation.
Five or six ABO FReepers on this thread have commented that they have reconsidered and RENEWED their donations as a direct result of this thread. Another half dozen were drawn to the thead by the ABO term and said “no deal” they were still PO’d at JR and FR...yet they are still on FR and read the thread...and some have renewed making their case that voting against Obama is currently the highest priority for them.
I also don't agree that the term “RINO” makes any sense, as a comment mentioned way up thread. The correct term, IMO, would be CINO, that that is not the name that the ABO FReepers were called before they were invited to consider leaving FR, so I used the term RINO.
Thank you very much, GeoPie!!
Why not acronyms like PRV (Potential Romney Voter)? Which depicts the proper wariness ANY conservative should have in voting for Romney...
Obviously for those who've already made up their mind, drop the "P"...RV (Romney Voter)
Then for those who are subtly promoting Romney -- or dissing third-party voters...those would be: "RPA" (Romney Public Advocates) or "RPC" (Romney Public Campaigners)...which WE both know few non-OPUSing FREEPERs would readily "ID" themselves as (in keeping with the site host's wishes).
Which means the above acronyms simply serve to allow the RPAs and RPCs to "slide in" -- safe haven-like -- under the other acronyms above...especially yours.
Now that may not be your intention...but it does -- in part -- provide "safe haven" beyond the "I-see-no-choice-but-to-vote-Romney-as-of-now" clan...which are Romney campaigners, advocates, etc. operating "on the sly."
But...I concede..."RV" might do the same thing...it's just more frank...and not euphemistic...
This is an open forum. If you post comments on it, expect someone to address them.
If you find something you don't like posted by another FReeper, you could always do the mature thing and ignore it instead of trying to shut others down.
caww has every bit as much right as you do to post. I'm pretty positive that if someone told you to go stand in a corner and shut up, you wouldn't be real excited about it.
YEt you still refuse to point out the evidence, but hope others will do the work.
My last post to you on this thread.
Am I surprised?
It is really simple; isn't it!
Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.
1 John 3:21-24
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. The one who keeps Gods commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

MORMONs tend to IGNORE the data.
I guess that IS denying.
You don't have FACEBOOK?
JESUS: Hey Smith! Remember that boast you made about doing more than even I had done to hold the 'church' together?
JOSEPH SMITH: Where am I?
JESUS: Don't you remember? A few seconds ago you were in that jail.
JOSEPH SMITH: Oh; yeah; but where am I NOW?
JESUS: Don't you remember? Does bang - bang ring a bell?
JOSEPH SMITH: Oh; yeah - that crummy gun I had was about USELESS!
JESUS: I hope you left instructions on how to hold your church together.
JOSEPH SMITH: Dang! I knew there was SOMETHING I was forgetting!
JESUS: Looks like there's a power struggle going on down there.
JOSEPH SMITH: Yeah; there was always SOMEone who wanted the power that I held - especially over the LADIES - wink wink.
JESUS: No need to worry about that now; remember what my friend Matthew wrote down?
JOSEPH SMITH: This? At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven (Matthew 22:30)
JESUS: That's it.
JOSEPH SMITH: I thought that was mistranslated.
JESUS: Nah - it was right.
JOSEPH SMITH: Oh well; it was fun while it lasted. My buds will still get it on with the girls.
JESUS: Uh; I'm sorry; in just a few more years; your followers will cavein to the United States government and abandon the 'Eternal Covenant' that you came up with.
JOSEPH SMITH: ME!? YOU are the one that told me to do that!
JESUS: Sorry; but you must have mistranslated what I told you. What part of Do NOT commit ADULTERY did you not understand?
JOSEPH SMITH: mumble....
JESUS: What did you say?
JOSEPH SMITH: Oh, nothing.
JESUS: Well; it was interesting talking to you; but now I must get back to perparing a place for those who believe in Me.
JOSEPH SMITH: Oh, yeah; the Celestial Kingdom.
JOSEPH SMITH: The Telestial one?
JOSEPH SMITH: SUREly not the TERRESTRIAL one!!
JESUS: Nope. Didn't you read that the mind of man had NOT conceived of it? Paul wrote it down in 1 Corinthians 2:9.
JOSEPH SMITH: I thought that was mistranslated.
JESUS: No; it wasn't.
JOSEPH SMITH: You SURE?
JESUS: Yes. Now I must be going: what did you say your name was again?
JOSEPH SMITH: Joseph Smith.
JESUS: Hmmmm. According to my Heavenly FAITHbook, you didn't sign in as one of my friends - sorry, I never knew you.
JOSEPH SMITH: But....
LITTLE Debbie has a treat for you!
