Attention "Anyone But Obama" (ABO) FReepers! If you go to the thread at the link you will will see that JimRob has "declared a truce" and hundreds of ABO FReepers are now vigorously defending their belief, which I share, that the ineligible Marxist Manchurian MUST BE DEFEATED to preserve the Republic...without fear of "the ZOT"! Please consider a DONATION not just to fund renewal of expression and amplification of your ABO views, but let's over-achieve this FReepathon to get JR his new equipment!

IMO, Free Republic and FReepers could be vital in swing states in rallying just enough conservatives to tip the election and prevent our troops from having to salute for even one day longer than necessary an ineligible Marxist committed to destroying the USA !

Oh heck mate - Give me a rain check for an hour please. I really got to take this call! If you would be kind enough to expand a bit (and yes, that one of the finest bits of prose ever written) I can discuss it better.

Sorry, not blowing you off - just work.

Have at it Elsie! ;)

Also interesting is when you go outside the Mormon and the Ex-Mormon sites and really get to those who look at LLDS from a political view as well as see it as a cooperation with land holdings etc. But then you know this.

Still it opens wide the doors the absolute false front of the religious aspect of LDS.....rather like Scientology...and other cults who put on the same front. And they all get into bizarre rituals and beliefs they use to fool public....until the mask is pulled down and revealed for what it is...and they are all about the money...and power they want to weld from their leadership.

BTW Romney has benefited nicely for being one of their leaders.

Your entire premise was based on factual error.

You must be a proud holder of some liberal big-government campus degree with a few (or more) multi-cultural educators...who apparently taught you the error of...
...doctrinal equivalency...
...moral equivalency...
...truth equivalency...

Just a quick one, since my caller is being fashionably late to emphasize his importance (one guess what party he supports)

I have a degree. I am a biochemist. Jobwise, I am a writer (part time) and a bloody good cabinetmaker (full time). That is cabinetmaker in terms of making custom furniture, not fitting MDF or plywood kitchens.
You never know where a degree will get you ....

Bashing anyones religion is un-American. It is right there in that document you are so proud of and many posters and members here are sworn to defend.

Sigh. You might want to actually READ the document:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

There's a difference between arrogant anger and being a disciple of Christ.

This is the third time you've used the word "arrogant" on this thread to describe others -- mostly a near-complete stranger (Elz). I'd say from my conversational experiences, in most cases, when somebody attributes arrogance to another they barely know, it requires attribution of motives...or what makes them inwardly tick.

Do you really claim to have that depth of knowledge...especially given verses like 1 Samuel 16:7?

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

I recall a wise counselor long ago once writing -- using this verse -- as a caution vs. engaging in judgmentalism vs. inward motives of others.

I didn't 'single out' anything. I was talking about religious threads in general and their contentious, irrational anger devoid of critical thought and true spirituality.

There ya go again...outright accusing Elz of "anger" of an inward motivation spurring these posts. How do you know anger is the fuel? Are you some personal Holy Spirit here?

I DON'T GO THERE. I STICK WITH POLITICS HERE, I stick with politics here, and devote myself to ChI rist in His Holy Word and in prayer, the fellowship of Believers and ministry.

Well, your alleged "sticking with politics" claim must occur somewhere between all the brow-beating of Elsie you've done on this thread...Let's see now, you've set a "Christlike example" for us by labeling Elz as:

* A rapist. A pillager ("You're raping and pillaging" post #877)
* Questioning/judging Elz' behavior as 'Christ-like' ("Is this behavior that you believe is Christ-like?" (#875)
* Engaging in an "emotional rampage" ("I had no delusions that speaking the truth in love would stop your emotional rampage") (#909)
* Engaging in arrogance/anger-motivated brow-beating ("You confuse angry, brow-beating, and arrogant sarcasm, (on colorful display on this thread) with 'defending the faith.'") (#989)
* And more of the same here: "Go back and reread the mockery, sarcasm, anger, arrogant belittling of others and emotional lack of control in your posts." (#1014)

So...we can take from these series of posts that you were trying to...
...edify Elz, perhaps...not belittle????
...gently show concern to a sibling in Christ...not brow-beat?
...psycho-analyze near complete-strangers (you've referenced the "emotions" of others three times now!)...and WHY do you FEEL they need that imposition again?
...and repeatedly spiritually judge the inward motivations & outward behavior...

And this is ALL under the umbrella of not going there...stick-to-politics discussion????

(There's not two of you posting under the same sitename is there, perchance?)

Go back and reread the mockery, sarcasm, anger, arrogant belittling of others and emotional lack of control in your posts, Elsie.

YOU made the ACCUSATION; so it's up to YOU to show the evidence.

Peace, Brother. May God show us both the sin that still remains in us and turns us away from doing His will and reflecting His love and grace.

I am not worried about my sin; as that's covered.

I doubt if any rational person expects to EVER speak to someone withOUT sin; until they get to say 'Lord - Lord' face to face with Jesus

The 'sin' of the heresy of MORMONism is not a blot on AMERICA, yet the NON-judgemental folks on FR seem to want to protect it.

I find that behavior a bit, shall we say, bizarre.

Then why are you complaining for us doing the same thing?

The chains that hold Mormons hostage in that cult are dark and powerful and demonic in a very real way. It takes a lot, and often a long time, before their veneer gets chipped away enough for them to see the truth and accept Christ. Been there done that.

You may not agree with our methods, that is fine. But our methods do work with Mormons and other cultists.

Yes, that is what I call it, bigotry, because that is what it is.

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind.

The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his brethren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings.

This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race--that they should be the 'servant of servants', and they will be, until that curse is removed."

Brigham Young-President and second 'Prophet' of the Mormon Church, 1844-1877- Extract from Journal of Discourses.

Here are two examples from their 'other testament', the Book of Mormon.

2 Nephi 5: 21 'And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people, the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.'

Alma 3: 6 'And the skins of the Lamanites were dark, according to the mark which was set upon their fathers, which was a curse upon them because of their transgression and their rebellion against their brethren, who consisted of Nephi, Jacob and Joseph, and Sam, who were just and holy men.'

August 27, 1954 in an address at Brigham Young University (BYU), Mormon Elder, Mark E Peterson, in speaking to a convention of teachers of religion at the college level, said:

"The discussion on civil rights, especially over the last 20 years, has drawn some very sharp lines. It has blinded the thinking of some of our own people, I believe. They have allowed their political affiliations to color their thinking to some extent.I think I have read enough to give you an idea of what the Negro is after."

"He is not just seeking the opportunity of sitting down in a cafe where white people eat. He isn't just trying to ride on the same streetcar or the same Pullman car with white people. It isn't that he just desires to go to the same theater as the white people. From this, and other interviews I have read, it appears that the Negro seeks absorption with the white race. He will not be satisfied until he achieves it by intermarriage."

"That is his objective and we must face it. We must not allow our feelings to carry us away, nor must we feel so sorry for Negroes that we will open our arms and embrace them with everything we have. Remember the little statement that we used to say about sin, 'First we pity, then endure, then embrace'...."

(Rosa Parks would have probably told Petersen under which wheel of the bus he should go sit.)

1967, (then) Mormon President Ezra Taft Benson said,

"The Communist program for revolution in America has been in progress for many years and is far advanced. First of all, we must not place the blame upon Negroes. They are merely the unfortunate group that has been selected by professional Communist agitators to be used as the primary source of cannon fodder."

We are told that on June 8, 1978, it was 'revealed' to the then president, Spencer Kimball, that people of color could now gain entry into the priesthood.

According to the church, Kimball spent many long hours petitioning God, begging him to give worthy black people the priesthood. God finally relented.

Sometime before the 'revelation' came to chief 'Prophet' Spencer Kimball in June 1978, General Authority, Bruce R McConkie had said:

"The Blacks are denied the Priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty.

The Negroes are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain blessings are concerned, particularly the priesthood and the temple blessings that flow there from, but this inequality is not of man's origin, it is the Lord's doings."

(Mormon Doctrine, pp. 526-527).

When Mormon 'Apostle' Mark E Petersen spoke on 'Race Problems- As they affect the Church' at the BYU campus in 1954, the following was also said:

"...if the negro accepts the gospel with real, sincere faith, and is really converted, to give him the blessings of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost, he can and will enter the celestial kingdom. He will go there as a servant, but he will get celestial glory."

When Mormon 'Prophet' and second President of the Church, Brigham Young, spoke in 1863 the following was also said:

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God is death on the spot. This will always be so."

(Journal of Discourses, Vo. 10, p. 110)

Yeah; Native Americans are althroughout the Book of MORMON; too.

“I saw a striking contrast in the progress of the Indian people today ... they are fast becoming a white and delightsome people.... For years they have been growing delightsome, and they are now becoming white and delightsome, as they were promised.... The children in the home placement program in Utah are often lighter than their brothers and sisters in the hogans on the reservation.

At one meeting a father and mother and their sixteen-year-old daughter were present, the little member girl-sixteen-sitting between the dark father and mother, and it was evident she was several shades lighter than her parents—on the same reservation, in the same hogan, subject to the same sun and wind and weather.... These young members of the Church are changing to whiteness and to delightsomeness.

One white elder jokingly said that he and his companion were donating blood regularly to the hospital in the hope that the process might be accelerated.

(Improvement Era, December 1960, pp.922-23). (p. 209)
