I find it odd that the Mother’s Day contest was at the end of the sentence.
How was it related?

A lot of news sites throw links between paragraphs of the articles. Guess the OP forgot to cut it out.

I find it odd that the Mothers Day contest was at the end of the sentence. It's a copy-and-paste artifact. There is an ad for the Mother's Day contest, and the text was caught up in the copy. The OP did not proofread after pasting, and there you have it. An ad in the story for the Mother's Day contest, which may drive Internet traffic to the Sentinel.
