The Washington post ^ | May 3, 2012 | Ben Pershing and Jon Cohen

Obama is ahead of Romney, the presumed Republican nominee, 51 percent to 44 percent among registered voters. And Romney does no better against Obama than he did a year ago, despite his emergence as the GOP standard-bearer.

I'd like to say "cheaters never prosper" but guys, this was a given. With the total anihilation of the Virginia Presidential primary, the Mittbots lost their boy the vote ~ ain't no way that dude can win here.

I hope he had strong language for his lackey, Goobernor McDonnell ~ but he probably didn't.

Next time the money guys want to run a Democrat go run him in the Democrat party. That's where that stuff is supposed to go on. Just keep him out of Virginia.

I wouldn’t fall for a phony poll:

It overpolls democrats, is not a poll of registered voters, 34 percent in this poll are not registered to vote, and the results are far outside it’s margin of error.

Garbage in- garbage out = WP Headline Story.

No surprise, oversampling of registered Dems, not likely voters. It's way closer than this poll indicates.

This poll is total BS. Practically no one believes, except gullible Obamabots.

Ah yes. The presidential election year of 2011. I remember it well.

Among likely voters the story is different...

Rasmussen Virginia: Romney 45%, Obama 44%

Sure, it's total BS, but what did Romney expect to do when he ran in a regular election in Virginia?. Did he perhaps imagine the 19% of the state vote that is of African-American heritage would dance in the streets upon his arrival?

How did he imagine he could KEEP the party base when he allowed his flunky to screw up the Republican primary with last minute rules changes?

After all that effort, and selling out, and skulduggery and criminal conspiracy, what does Romney have to look at? That he's right where he was last year at this time.

I have a feeling this poll shows a disastrous trend for Herr Romney and his Mittbots.

No Vice Presidency for you McDonnell!

Yes, good point that I failed to list: in addition to the high % of not registered, it is not a sample of ‘likely’ voters - a basic requirement these days for some semblance of credibility.

thanks.

If Virginia goes Obama then they get what they deserve.

This is why these Virgil Goode fools are making me nervous. a mere 5% for Goode in his home state of Virginia could be just enough to keep those 13 electoral votes in Obama's column. Lose Virginia and Romney's road to 270 just got a helluva lot steeper.

Not really ~ we have a Republican Governor, Republican Lt. Governor, Republican AG, Republican House in the legislature, and a Republican Senate in the legislature (except for financial issues then it's tied). We even have a MAJORITY REPUBLICAN US HOUSE Delegation ~

So, a suburb of DC?

Get real. Your boy Romney wants to give all that away to the Democrats and it looks like it's working. Only way he can recover in this disaster is to drop out of the race and give the blessing to the Conservative majority to pick a winning candidate.

All polls overpol Democrats, but in Virginia we have no party registration. You can tell the pollster anything you want and no one is the wiser.

That would then be a good lesson learned for the GOP and this year’s foolish primary voters. Nominate a conservative or lose elections due to third party siphoning of votes. There is no quicker route to change the politics of the GOP then for them to see moderate candidates lose elections. Why would they or the primary voters ever stop picking moderate candidates if they win elections?

If Romney was losing every state by double digits in the polls, you're absolutely right we could see a change in candidates. Or at the very least a staunchly conservative vice president. Nothing could help conservatives more than everyone telling the pollsters they're not going to vote for Romney.

Does anyone actually read the internals of the poll before they post them? This thing is pure MSM Obummer spin.
