Yes, but there needs to be two other distinctions as well.
1) There needs to be research to understand the “shades of gray”. Using just age of the victim as the sole criteria fails the “Traci Lords” test, but appearance criteria fails as well because of adult women who look underage, the “Little Lupe” test.
2) The flip side of this is the corruption of natural sexual attraction between adults, becomes adults attracted to children, as well as distinguishing those who are just attracted from those who do something about that attraction which is illegal. Should “Toddlers & Tiaras” be illegal? Using children as fashion models?
3) Then there is “organic” pedophilia, either physical (brain aberration), psychopathic or sociopathic.
However, despite all the above, society does not and should not in any way tolerate pedophilia based on the “We know it when we see it” criteria. It can only be parsed to a limited extent, and then only to determine the relative severity of punishments, including surgical correction.
THey are twisting the “cast the first stone” issue, which applies to hypocrites who litteraly punish the child with sex acts on them. It is totally disgusting rhetoric. Merely talking about “good pedophiles” should bring child porn charges by the subject matter itself and admission of intent of harm under an umbrella of “social acceptance”, also known as collective/government intimidation.
What is sought here is total submission to government and force also. This is the psychobable of Obama’s friends, and Obama is suspected in having been raped as a child. So, his group of people have trained him to make it an agenda of equality.
Indeed, if one does not know a cure for these kinds of things, which there are none, because it is a matter of straight control and coward domination evil in addition to adulterous sin (ie. a rebellion of the possessed against any cure if there was one), then the subject which is not at peace needs to be shot and be made at peace. I do not see these people pushing Euthanasia for these kinds of people, and though I am against Euthanasia, I am not against using it in this case, and this is why we have the death penalty.

Good the more he speaks the more he draws attention to what is wrong with homosexuality - it is grounded in godlessness and child molestation. That’s the goal and they’re using the schools and the media to get our children.

Much as a “good” kleptomaniac would be one with the pathological impulse to steal - but does not.

Let me start by saing I think Dan Savage is a vile bully. However, if you read the article, I think that is what he is saying. The "good pedophile" is the one who never acts on his urges and keeps himself out of situations with kids. Savage buys into the idea that the sex drive to like children is some type of chemical or physiological imbalance and not a choice. And that this imbalance can be treated and dealt with by not putting oneself in the wrong situations (like babysitting kids).
The irony of ironies is that the same can be said of homosexuality -- that it is some type of physiological imbalance that can be treated and dealt with by not putting oneself in tempting situations. Of course, Savage would never give that advice to a gay man because homosexuality is "natural". Then why is he giving it to a pedophile?
There’s a reason Hitler knowingly allowed gays in the ranks of the SA during his rise to power....a gay in position of authority is more ruthless than even their heterosexual counterparts....of course Hitler knew once he achieved power they would be a thorn in his side, so he had them done away with in “The Night of the Long Knives.”

No, what Savage is doing is redefining the arguement. He’s getting you to accept that not all sexual sins are bad. For example, accepting that a man may be a pedophile but if he’s not acting on it, he’s good.
It’s a thin edge of the wedge. The moment it becomes acceptable to fantasize, it’s a small step to reality.
Perhaps having pictures of children being abused is all right, because the act was done and you can’t do anything about that. But because you “only” have pictures, you’re keeping yourself from actually harming children.
Then it won’t be but a small step from just having pictures to lightly molesting them, because there’s no actual penetration or something.
Eventually, no limits on what you can do with kids will become the norm.
This is why, even traces of, pedophilia should not be tolerated and should be subject to the fullest punishment of the law.

There are no doubt folks who have urges but control them, no matter what they are, homosexuality, group sex, animal sex, and even pedophilia. By controlling their urges they show that human beings are not merely animals ruled by their urges. Every man or woman who’s had an opportunity to cheat with someone they found attractive has showed they can control their biological urges, this however is completely counter to the leftist agenda.
I have no doubt there are people out there with urges, all kinds, that never act on them and willfully avoid situations that will place them in undo situations. I am no fan of Dan Savage, he’s a gay activist nutjob who coined the term “manogamish” for crying out loud, however, the general premise there are people in this world with sick urges who do not act on them, is I believe an accurate one.
This article, written by Dan Savage, brings to mind a gay man having sex with a young boy and people -- rightfully -- have a very negative reaction to that. But pedophilia also is an adult man like Jerry Lee Lewis marrying a 14 year old girl. Or popular songs from the 60s and 70s where an adult singer sang about bedding a 16 year old girl. Or how many times do we have a thread here about a 30-something, cute, female teacher bedding one of her teenage students? Everyone thinks that is hilarious and wishes that they had teachers like that. Guess what? That teacher is a pedophile.
Everyone needs to control their urges to do wrong things. Mere thought is not a crime if the person does not act on their urges. But if they do, and it something as bad as pedophilia, then society should punish them harshly.
