I want to ask those who consider themselves conservatives, and are going to vote for Romney because he happens to have an (R) instead of a (D) behind his name on the ballot sheet, where do you draw your personal line in the sand and say "No more"? For stupid people reading this (liberals and DHS type workers), I don't mean violence - I mean not voting for "the lesser of two evils".
I plan to vote for the Constitution Party. But my state’s electoral votes are not up for grabs.
I vote to win - not to feel good.
I’d vote for 3 week old road kill if it got the current Prez out of office.
I’m having trouble with this too.
Good Question
The lesser of two evils is still evil.
I went into this one with 3 flawed candidates with Rick Santorum being my last choice. That was my line in the sand.
For those who will inevitably come running with some crap about perfection or defeating Obama. Well, you can KMA.
My personal line in the sand is ANYBODY EXCEPT OBAMA. He is the most dangerous person who has ever set foot in the SHite House in my lifetime. By far.
When “conservatives” tell me that if we don't vote for Romney we'll get 4 more years of Obama and we can't afford that, that Romney is the lesser of two evils, I like to point out that the more evil the other guy gets, then also, the lesser can also be more evil and still be the lesser. The GOP evidently didn't learn their lesson in 2008. Conservatives largely stayed home because they didn't like their choices. The “share” of the vote that the GOP lost out on last time was the “no vote” share. When conservatives (or anyone else for that matter) doesn't vote, then they leave it to the pundits to try and determine what they were thinking and what their reasons were. That's why anyone who is not happy with their choices needs to at least show up and write in a vote so that their position is documented and can be analyzed for the fools that trying to run the show.
I haven't decided what I'm going to do in November yet, but I do know that I'm going to show up and vote, I just haven't decided if I'm voting for the lessor of two evils or writing in my choice.
THat should have said White House.
Explain how and why a second Obama term is the best option?
My sequence was: Palin - Bachmann - Cain - Gingrich - Santorum - Gingrich.
I tried to find someone I could support. Aside from Palin I was never fully energized about any of them -- but I wanted to do my part and support someone who might get Obama out of office.
At this point, I'm done. No Romney vote from me. No way, no how. The Republican Party does not own my vote. They have to earn it. They failed.
The line in the sand is Nobama.
Id vote for 3 week old road kill
_______________________________________
just to try to beat out a 3 week old road kill with a (D)...
We voted for McCain we can vote for Romney. Romney will have a moist finger in the air; we just need to make sure the wind is blowing hard from the right.
It’s ABO for me...
The kicker is SCOTUS. Oh, I realize Rotney has an abysmal track record here in MA. That is why it is imperative to have a constitutionally conservative block and leadership in the Senate. I’d shudder to think of Rotney working with Reid on SCOTUS appointments.
Voting to me is a purely pragmatic decision. Government is a necessary evil, and my job as a citizen is to limit its evil encroachments on society. Currently, sitting in the White House is the most evil president in the history of the Republic. It is my absolute duty to do what one man can do to remove him.
“Id vote for 3 week old road kill if it got the current Prez out of office.”
EXACTLY my thoughts and intention.
‘Ah, but which is less evil?”
Assume they are the same. Obama will be a lame duck and as has already stated he will have more freedom to do as he wishes if he is re-elected. They will be some tools to hold Romney’s feet to the fire.
Thanks to the presumptive Republican nominee, my state's EVs probably won't be up for grabs either. We like our Republicans here to be at least a little bit conservative.
I'm likely to go either CP or a write-in for President and the best conservatives I can find everywhere else. I don't care for the CP's foreign policy planks as it's too RuPaulish for me but I like just about everything else I see.
That's an over-simplification and you know it. We can do some damage control in the executive branch and try again in 2016. I'm voting for Romney because he's not Obama. If he's conservative 40% of the time, at least we'll get that 40%. Vote for some Constitution or Libertarian Party yahoo and you'll give us 100% Obama.
I won’t vote for Romney, and if by some bizarre miracle he wins, I will spend the next four years exposing him for the liberal fraud he is.
I draw the line at No Mitt.
If you vote for Willard because he’s the lesser of two evils, you’re still voting for evil.
You’re free to choose to do that.
I REFUSE.
I think there is still enough conservative eneregy on the House side of the GOP to help keep Mittens on the path, or at least from straying into dramatic stupidity too often.
That said, I sure wish Cain or Gingrich had been the nominee. There is a difference between voting FOR a candidate and voting AGAINST a candidate. I miss voting FOR a candidate, but I still see Obama as somebody who absolutely must be defeated.
This is not a game, kid. Whomever wins the presidency this November will appoint at least two Supreme Court Justices. If it’s Øbama, they are GUARANTEED to be Lib/Soc/Com.
Are you willing to look your grandkids in the eye some day soon when they ask why you defaulted to a proven Marxist for President back in 2012 that deprived them of all their liberties??? I’m not.
It’s time to get over your tantrum for not getting the nominee you wanted. The process worked as designed and Mitt Romney is the nominee. So only he or the guy who walks to the podium like a PIMP will run the nation for the next 4 years.
It’s time for everyone on this site to get 100% behind the only man who can remove the most destructive regime America has ever seen.
FREEPERS!!! Support Mitt Romney as though the fate of a FREE United States depended on it. That is the reality!
Quite frankly the country can’t take another four years of the messiah. Maybe we can get enough conservative pubbies in the house and senate to make Romney toe the line.
If we don’t campaign and vote for the “lesser of the two evils” then we get stuck with the “Greater of the two evils.”
I don’t know. I haven’t decided. The lesser of two evils is still ‘evil’ — which is bad. But, the lesser of two evils is also still ‘lesser’ — which is preferable to ‘greater’.
Options are —
(1) don’t vote and surrender the country to people that did;
(2) vote third party and retain my principles, but surrender to people who voted for someone who had a realistic chance of winning, or;
(3) vote against Barack, and hope to God that Ann Coulter is right about Mitt.

Will Romney surround himself with those who want to see the full and utter destruction of the US through financial destruction, destruction of the traditional family, destruction of the military, destruction of the farm life, destruction of the judicial system (at all levels), destruction of States’ rights (and the list could go on)? If, through my reading and research, the answers to these questions are yes, then I will not vote for Romney.
We voted for McCain we can vote for Romney. Romney will have a moist finger in the air; we just need to make sure the wind is blowing hard from the right.
++++++++++++
Our best hope is that Romney stays with his pragmatic ways and decides to govern from the right. Our job is to make sure he does.
Where’s their line in the sand? I would say it’s offshore.
Amen.
(brought to you by the Osama Obama Victory Fund,Bill Ayers,Treasurer)
Elections are as much about beating the opposition as they are about advancing your own causes. Romney is not likely to advance conservatism much if any, but he will prevent the dog eater from appointing the next 1-3 Supreme Court justices and he will answer to the Republican party instead of the Democrat Party. The only vote that helps remove Hussein from the White House is one cast for Willard.
Just like the sand that it is drawn in, my personal line changes...
I view the Supreme Court nominations as the true prize in this fight.
A couple more Obama picks and we can hang it up. No telling what the SC would “find” in the Constitution then.
Back in the day I voted for Ross Perot and Bill and Hillary Clinton won. IMHO Perot took votes away from Bush. I will not throw away a vote again over ideology. Presidents Bill & Hill Clinton gave us 8 years of liberal he**.
I am voting this year to remove Barrak Obama from office. I am not voting ideology - *the media makes sure we don’t have quality candidates*
I just want Obama out. Period and will vote for whoever he’s running against.
It is not the best option. However, it is the inevitable option if Romney is the GOP nominee.
I am no longer voting for liberals whether they have an R or D by their name.
Candidates who promote abortion, homosexual agendas, government mandates, man made global warming, gun grabbers......are liberals.
I will vote against Obama.
“The lesser of two evils is still evil.”
Sounds cool. But we are talking four more years of a Marxist in MY White House. Anybody who would aid and abet that is either a moron or a ‘Rat.
I like to think that if even if Romney is the lesser of two evils, at the end of 4 years the Tea Party will be able to get a candidate to run against his incumbency. As stated before, at least with Romney there will be ways to hold his feet to the fire. On the flip side, if what has been set in motion the last four years is unstoppable maybe its better for a (D) to go down with his ship.
My line in the sand for POTUS: George W. Bush
I do not have a line in the sand for lower offices.
I will not support anyone more liberal than W for POTUS.
Santorum and Perry barely would have made the cut.
Bachman, Cain, Gingrich made it easily.
Pawlenty, Paul and Romney do not make it.
I live in deep blue Connecticut. My vote will not stop Obama from winning Connecticut’s electoral votes. I plan to help the Constitution Party out by boosting their popular vote.
Like Obama, Romney will be one-and-done. On to 2016.
If Romney doesn’t suffer a decisive defeat in November, he’s young enough to come back in 2016.
That’s part of the “reality” that most of the reality-leaners are not factoring in.
My view on this should be well known by now, I’m sick of getting insulted and skewered over this.
Consider the alternative.
If you were faced with the prospect of choosing between an agonizing and slow death, and being able to get about with only a few prosthetics and painkillers, but with expectation of living on for many years longer, which would you choose?
Obama, depend on it, is surrender to doom and despair. With Romney, there is a middling chance that we may rally and cripple the forces of darkness, with at least some hope to regaining what we once were.
Broken glass has been strewn about you on whichever path you take. Blood, toil, tears and sweat are the only things promised to you.
Make the best of it. Because that is the remaining choice.
