Weeping four-year-old girl accused of carrying a GUN by TSA officers

Of all the many complaints about airport security and the TSA, one of the most common is that they make little distinction between plausible security threats and passengers unlikely to be doing anything wrong.

And a recent incident in Wichita, Kansas has reinforced that argument, as a four-year-old girl was apparently subjected to a humiliating ordeal after she hugged her grandmother while she was waiting in line.

The girl was accused of having a gun and declared a 'high security threat', while agents threatened to shut down the whole airport if she could not be calmed down.

When asked about the overbearing treatment the girl received, a TSA spokesman did not apologise and insisted that correct procedures had been followed.

I went through this crap twice. It was enough.

Haven’t flown since.

I had to go on several trips since the TSA started their crap, and have to fly in the near future. I dread the security every time.

Back when Bush was POTUS I used to complain regularly about TSA wasting money (big money) by treating us all like terrorists and almost everyone I talked to said they were happy it was keeping them 'safe'. It takes an Obama for Republicans to see the light.

The Patriot Act, and TSA, the need to protect us from us, was one of Bush’s biggest failures.

I think on Day 1 when Obama was first learning about his Executive powers he thought to himself, “Damn! I knew that president had far reaching powers, I didn’t know that Bush made it this easy for me.”

And then he set to working on Obamacare the very next morning. :)

I just can’t believe that the Republicans have not yet tried to demolish the TSA! What are they waiting for?

They are afraid. Their greatest fear is that a terrorist attack happen after they dismantle TSA. They are as afraid of this possibility as they are of reforming entitlement programs. This is why the TSA will be with us forever.

It used to be, when one of these guys screwed up, you didn’t get meat in your hamburger, there was something sinister in the secret sauce, or there was an extra dollar charged to your credit card.

At one point I went so far as to say I would voluntarily board a doomed flight rather than have our populace have to put up with this s—t.

One of the things that bothered me the most about the airport security, was them singling out my wife on the last two flights we took together.

I was forced to walk ahead while they gave her ‘extra attention’. I was raised to respect my wife, and be there to protect her if need be. Now I’m told ‘f—k you’, go on your way while we do as we please to her, or we’ll tackle you and basically F you up.

Say what? Never again.
