Daily Presidential Tracking Poll (Romney 48% Obama 44%)
Rasmussen ^ | 4-24-12 | Rasmussen

Posted on 04/24/2012 6:54:31 AM PDT by Mikey_1962

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that Mitt Romney earns 48% of the vote, while President Obama attracts support from 44%. Four percent (4%) would vote for a third party candidate, while another 4% are undecided.

Matchup results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). See tracking history.

As the U.S. Supreme Court prepares to hear the federal government’s challenge to Arizona’s immigration law, 59% of voters believe police officers should check the immigration status of those they stop for traffic violations. However, as Scott Rasmussen notes in a radio commentary, voter anger is not directed at the immigrants. It is directed at the federal government, employers and others who enable illegal immigration.

Most Americans believe the price of gas could reach $5 a gallon in the next few months. Forty-four percent (44%) believe government regulations are primarily to blame, while 32% point to speculators.

Three-out-of-four Americans (75%) would prefer the U.S. Postal Service cut mail delivery to five days a week rather than receive government subsidies to cover ongoing losses.

If BrokeBack O’Bozo is polling very badly by September watch for Biden to have a medical emergency forcing him to drop from the race, after-which Hitlery! will graciously agree to move up as O’Bozo’s VP running mate.

IMO, a Republican being investigated should now be considered a badge of honor. We aren’t going to get the vote of anyone who believes the charges anyway.

But, if not Haley, then who? We should have someone who can deliver FL, NC, VA, and at least one one of MI, OH, or PA.

Allen West?

To anyone who replies, please provide an alternative - don’t just shoot down ideas (not referring to you, wiggen).

I wonder if a lot of folks were are saying they would vote for Obama because of the racial guilt factor. The coming race riots and black on white attacks this summer will shake those people loose from their illusions. Landslide, Romney.

Will I be banned if I consider this relatively good news?

Not if you preface your remarks with an anti-Romney rant. Here is one I have on file for this purpose...

Boo! Hiss! Boo! Hiss! (Stamping feet on ground) Bad on Mitt Romney for pulling ahead of Obama in the polls. Shame on the Republicans who voted for Mitt Romney in the primaries. (Making gagging sound and clawing at my chest) Boo! Hiss! Mitt Romney ties his dog to the top of his car! Boo! Hiss!

I know you will not like this comment, but.....Newt Gingrich is toast. He has been toast for sometime, after too much “foot in mouth” activity. Brilliant gent, great ideas, good conservative, but.....not too much common sense or street smarts!!! After tonight Newt will withdraw from the POTUS nomination fight and.....fully endorse Romney. Prolonging the agony is painful to watch. Newt can serve our country well, just not as POTUS.

So....you either vote for Romney, vote for Obama, or sit at home and not vote at all. The second two choices will enable Obama to be re-elected, as many Freepers have indicated they would like to see happen, and have no objection to. Go figure!!! Reality is the world you should live in, friend.

They pretty much represent the majority of the party.

I don't buy it. I think the majority are just resigned to what the Establishemnt has forced upon us. The establishment has been pushing Romney since day one. Screw them! The GOP is never going to get another dime of my money! NEVER!

I just don't see a scenario where Obama will be able to get away with canceling elections. This country held elections during a Civil War for crying out loud. I think fanning the flames this summer with Treyvon, Occupy movement, etc., will only backfire on the Democrats in November.

The only way they come out on top in fomenting chaos
is if gets so bad that people call for, or at least accept

a huge government “crackdown” in order to restore order.

Still too close; the RATs can make more than that difference up in fraud.

Teaching the GOP a lesson is not a good reason to allow Obama another four years to destroy the country.

The GOP rank and file gave Romney the votes he needed to win the nomination. That's a fact.

I know there's no process for it, but what would have helped would have been a "conservative primary" that would have allowed us to coalesce around a single anti-Romney candidate.

Perhaps we'll learn the lesson the next time around and create the process that will identify the conservative champion before the GOP primary gets underway.

For some reason, the rise of the internet also birthed the specter of the cancelled election.

The opposition has speculated wildly about it since Clinton's first term, but it didn't happen with either Clinton election or either Bush election. Bush's third term didn't happen either. Obama will either be elected for a second term or he won't, but there will be an election.

Elections are managed at the state level. So you are correct that the Fed cannot simply “cancel” the election.

However, we have already seen the contempt this admin has for state law. It is not hard to imagine a scenario in which the Fed mandates “postponing” the election, and sending troops in to non-compliant states to enforce the mandate.

The media would support it, and would report that Americans also supported it.

Just sayin. If it were going to happen, this would be the President that would perpetrate it.

I figure Romney wins Ohio, New Hampshire, Florida, Virginia, Missouri and North Carolina.

Obama hangs on to Pennsylvania and Iowa (barely).

I think if Walker hangs on in Wisconsin, Romney may win it. If that happens, I think he may win Michigan.

So, in that scenario, it’s Romney 311, Obama 227.
