Normally, I believe what happens on the court should be dealt with by the league, but in this case, I think Artest should be arrested for felony assault.
What drives me crazy is the Artest apologists who don’t think his prior record should be considered in this case. Sure, he started the worst brawl in NBA history, but that was 8 years ago, and “he’s tried so hard to be fix his image since then”.
What a bunch of bull! He has had other suspensions since 2004, and so what it if it was 8 years ago? The fact that he would commit such a vicious act of violence, 8 years later shows that he learned NOTHING and hasn’t changed one bit.
And in defense of the guy, the player that got hit did come into MWP's space and bump up against him. Naturally that invokes a gentle response in return.

It is amazing how these “Pros” celebrate such a simple task of dunking a ball (not to difficult when you can jump high enough that the basket is below your arms) with theatrics like they had just conquered cancer.
Ten 7' black thugs, walking up and down the court, slam, jam'em a ball that they can palm like a baseball, into a rim that is usually three feet lower than the apex of their slam, or shooting wide open 3 pointers.
They begin to run with two minutes on the game clock which turns into 25 minutes of wall clock time when they use their collective ten time outs.
On rare occasion, they will replace one 7' black thug with a 7' token white thug that can jam the ball and sometimes can even speak English {not a requirement}.
Dirk Nowitzki is no thug, and he beat those thugs from Miami last year.

Huh? Man I hate soccer, but I would never sit there and propose they change the size of the net to allow little people a better chance. Like Soccer, the game is what it is but changing rim height is just preposterous. I find NCAA and international basketball largely unwatchable, but I don't find myself making these kinds of statements about something I don't care to watch.
Heck, at 10 feet high now, most NBA players barely make 60% of their Free Throws.

Amen to that. I seem to recall the days when pro basketball was entertaining and the scores would be something like 145 to 140. They could actually make a set shot and dunking didn't come in until Wilt and Kareem got into the act and most of the good players could shoot foul shots with their eyes closed.
Shaq would have been the greatest player ever if he only made his free throws.....teams knew they could foul him knowing he’d probably miss, it wound up shortening his career by at least a few years.
Then why is the average free throw percentage per team around 75%?

Absent Harden’s deliberate provocation, I doubt Artest would have delivered the elbow.
One action led to the other. Context is king.
