Planning has begun for the 7th Annual TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.

This year’s shoot will be held at Schwenke’s Rifle & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069, Aransas Pass, TX. Which is a few miles north of Corpus Christi.

The date of the shoot is October 6th, which is Columbus Day weekend.

I have not talked to the range owner yet to see if we can cook on the range. If not, we will head over here for food & more fun. What food & who cooks has yet to be determined. I’m thinking, since we will be on the coast, we should have seafood.

Several of us will be staying in the cottages at that resort. The cottages sleep 2 ~ 4 people; they are a one bedroom with a fold out queen couch. I am going to reserve four cottages so that we will have a common area where we can eat & socialize. Let me know if you want to stay in one of them.

It should be noted that a festival will be held the same weekend as the shoot.

Hard to believe isn’t it. The older we get the quicker time goes by. Would be great if you and your lovely bride could make it to the shoot.

So far the planning committee has made just one trip, and yep we stayed at one of the best hotels in the area. ;-)

Many more trips are being planned as I type ~ but that has more to do with my mother living down there than the shoot.

We will have just visited in September...and will not be back now for another year.

I’d make another trip, but with our daughter’s wedding just passed in San Diego, my wife’s family reunion in Virignia (the DC area) in July, and having to have just help replace a son’s vehicle that was totaled in a wreck, the finances are not going to allow it this year.

We will seriously try and be a part next year if we can. If it was sometime early or mid-September that would let us combine a trip...but you have a whole lot more people to plan for than us.

God’s speed and have a lot of fun, I know you will.

I understand the finances aspect. I'm not going to be able to stay in the cottages with everyone else. Hopefully my wife has built up enough points that I can stay in the LQ in Corpus, as I did the last time the shoot was in Aransas Pass. Even the gas to drive may be problematic by then.

Although it was me building up most of the points back then.
