Romney gaining conservatives' support, if not their hearts
Washington Post ^ | apr 19, 2012 | Rosalind S. Helderman and Sandhya Somashekhar

Mitt Romney was not his first choice for president, but conservative political activist Scott Magill has come to accept that Romney is now his only choice. So Magill is looking for reasons to get jazzed about the candidate he once dismissed.

His list so far: Romney is a Republican who would sign into law legislation passed by a GOP-led House. Romney has started to hit the right talking points. If elected, Romney would have to listen to the conservative base - or risk its wrath at reelection time.

Also, and perhaps most important, Romney is not Barack Obama.

The conservative base appears to be warming to Romney, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll conducted after Santorum's exit, which found that about 80 percent of conservative Republicans hold favorable views of Romney - a record percentage for the candidate.

Santorum's withdrawal from the field has opened the door for many groups that had been uncomfortable with his candidacy to embrace Romney, including the National Right to Life; the Susan B. Anthony List; National Organization for Marriage, which opposes same-sex marriage.

"whether is is center left or center right."

Well You should because Leftism is goal! To them it doesn't matter if say Government healthcare is passed by an "R" or "D" as long as it gets done (romneycare comes to mind)

Romney is going to pull the GOP to the left and tell Conservatives to **** off, he run Massachusetts like a Democrat, Appointed Democrats to the bench and has supported Democrats.

But if you insist no Romney and Obama are no the same, Obama is a foreign Manchurian Candidate While Romney is the Democrats Manchurian Candidate for us. Both are Political Apparatchiks who's only goal is Statism.

If he gets in and commits treason like our most recent Congresses and Presidents, we can make a bi-partisan impeachment demand from “both sides of the aisle” like our Rino pals do. :)

They will like us helping to get something big done in DC for a change./s/

How about DREAM Act supporter Rubio. That would be the perfect ticket.

Two empty suits panderers pretending to be conservatives.

You trust the BS on the candidate’s website? If you do, I have some prime swamp land on an earthquake fault to sell you.

Try doing some actual research into his record.

“Also, he walks like a gay duck.”

It’s odd that you should mention that but he does walk like he’s got a corn-cob stuck up his butt. Of course, if that was the only disqualifier, I could overlook it!

he has my support, not my heart, and I will vote for him no question about it, even though I do not give up my right to criticize him endlessly afterwards....

but in no way, shape or form will I do anything to reelect that dictator who's there now....

Listening yesterday to a cafe full of people, on TV was Fox News. They were talking about SS Gate, and I just happened to mention,
“Wonder what they do in DC?” Let me tell you , it got fun, even as I was leaving. What I did hear is that no one in that room wanted Barry!

When you vote for it, you own it.

Take responsibility for your vote... It wasn’t given to you for free.

“Conservatives are not warming towards Romney.

Here is what it says (from another article):

“A record high of 69 percent of Republicans, including 80 percent of conservatives, hold favorable views of Romney, the poll showed.”

Now why don’t you post a comparison of Newt’s chances of beating Obama vs. Romney’s chances.

“A record high of 69 percent of Republicans, including 80 percent of conservatives, hold favorable views of Romney, the poll showed.”

And 72% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Say you are starving and you only have a choice between hamburger or chicken. Are you going to starve to death, because you decided that you will only eat filet mignon?
