Posted on 04/18/2012 12:22:21 PM PDT by Marguerite
Mitt Romney will take a victory lap before members of the Republican National Committee when the party meets at an annual event in Scottsdale, Ariz., this week
While Romney is not formally the party's nominee yet -- he has not clinched the 1,144 delegates required to secure the nomination, and two other candidates remain in the race -- party rules all but guarantee he will win enough delegates to claim the nomination on the first ballot at the GOP's convention in Tampa. Recognizing that reality, Romney and the RNC set up a joint fundraising account earlier this month to begin raising the big bucks it will take to compete in the fall.
And yet Romney won't be speaking to an entirely friendly crowd. While he has secured support from the bulk of the committee's members, at least two state party chairs support other candidates. A.J. Spiker, who heads the Iowa Republican Party, backs Rep. Ron Paul, while Georgia Republican Party chairwoman Sue Everhart is bound by party rules to back former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Another gem, from the “silent” majority.
Larry Aull writes : “ I attended my first Tea Party meeting on February 13, 2009 in central-Indiana. I attended the Taxpayers Rally on the grounds of the Indiana Statehouse on April 13, 2009. I also attended the Tax Payers March on Washington on September 12, 2009.
The Democrats laughed, mocked and criticized us and called us GOP astroturf. The Republicans watched us from behind windows because they had no idea what to make of us. They were afraid that they might get their collective faces a little dirty.
Of the four remaining candidates for the Republican nomination for president, only one stood firmly with us from the beginning; Newt Gingrich. He didn’t do it for votes. He didn’t do it to get media coverage. He did it because he believed that we were right in our concerns as well as our demands. He knows that we no longer control our government, it controls us.
Newt Gingrich is the only candidate who has stated that his campaign is a people’s campaign. The media lies. The parties lie. The truth is, they all fear a Newt Gingrich candidacy because he is truly an architect of change. The very change that we have been formally and passionately demanding for over three years now. For my way of thinking, he has always been the right choice. Of course, I might just be a little prejudiced. After all, I am a concerned American.”
When we jumped in , Romney was at “more favorable” over 53% ...

When I vote here in Texas, I’ll look at who’s on the ballot. Basically, you have the top tier, which is Rick and Newt, and you have the bottom-feeders, which are Paul and Romney. Given that Rick has suspended, that means Newt likely gets my vote - because as far as I know, he’s still running.
That’s a wonderful testament!
I detest Romney for his vicious attack ads and for idiot voters falling for them.
Anyone who has not voted in their state primary yet should definitely vote for NEWT, not Romney, as the RNC doesn’t think he needs or wants your vote.
Don’t get mad, get even: Vote for NEWT!
I hate the way the RNC annoints candidates. 19 States still need to vote but the RNC will basically ignore their votes.
6i.74 LESS favorable - put that in your pipe and smoke it, FOX
Walmart has Glass Chalk in all colors, all you do is write your message on your windows and ride Across America advertizing for Newt.
Better than bumper stickers, hopefully Walmart will sell out.
That is what they like to do.
Aren't there Walmart's All Across America? Go get yours today!
Mine will say: "Newt Across America" is Standing WITH You Newt!
Honk or Wave if you agree!
ADVERTIZING FOR NEWT ACROSS AMERICA!
Stole it, and posted here:
“An Open Letter to the RNC
April 19, 2012
I hold no illusion that my words will have any affect on the direction the RNC has chosen to take, but for the sake of my own soul, I will try once.
Since 1856, the Republican National Committee has existed to serve the needs of its constituents. By constituents, I mean American citizens who have been in agreement with the Republican Party platform.
For the most part, your constituents are everyday common folk concerned with the mundane aspects of life. The Republican Party, which has become an intrinsic part of America, would not exist were it not for the average citizen. And yet, over the past few decades the RNC has apparently forgotten to whom they owe their allegiance.
The RNC has become instead a club for the Super-Rich Elite, as evidenced by Romneys upcoming $50,000.00 per head Victory Fund post-coronation celebration in Phoenix.
You cannot imagine the outrage this entire fiasco has created amongst us common serfs.
Romney only has around half the hard delegates needed to win the nomination. Nineteen states have yet to voice their opinions. By accepting Romney as the GOP candidate at this early date, it is obvious that RNC rules no longer have any meaning
I sincerely recommend that the RNC very quickly reassess its agenda, because it is no longer in tune with the vast majority of conservative Americans.
We do NOT want Mitt Romney or any other Country Club RINO as our candidate. The Democrat crossover voters who have helped bolster Romneys numbers thus far will not repeat their votes in November, and he will lose in the most spectacular fashion to Obama.
I do not hold any hope that the RNC will find its way back to the American public, and thus am looking forward to the emergence of a new Conservative Party to take your place.
After being a lifelong Registered Republican, it is with great regret that I request my name be with drawn from your list of supporters. I cannot continue to be associated with a political organization that ignores its own rules, much less the voice of The People.”
Gingrich said, "One reason I'm running for president is to re-arouse that conversation in the American people that... this is a country with really big problems. And we have a president who deliberately trivializes politics into junk because as long as it is distracting us from the real problems, he is better off. Because when you get to the real problems, he has no answers."
"I think we ought to be the serious party and we ought to blow right past that stuff," Gingrich continued. "I think in that context, the more serious we are, and the more sincere we are, the better we will do as a party and the better we will do as a country and I believe the American people are hungry for leadership that transcends the normal junk."
everyone lookin’ for a reason to go packin’.
Sayin’ you’re droppin’ out ain’t a good way of persuadin’.
Thanks for posting the info on that and getting the word out. I posted it earlier today to a smaller ping list.
202) 863-8500 This is the number to the RNC...call them let them know WE WILL NOT ACCEPT RoMONEY!! Help repost this number everywhere....tell them WE WANT a DEBATE in TEXAS with the 3 remaining canidates on may 22nd! Mittens will not agree to it!!! He is toast in TEXAS if he does not!
This is the meeting where they voted to impose sanctions on FL for moving it's primary date.
A bunch of self important blue blood country clubbers, with weird looking greedy pulled back wives.
The mind boggling thing is the DNC is even more perverse.
WASHINGTONIANS ARE THE PROBLEM, NOT THE SOLUTION.
GOP has done NOTHING but murder the Republic going back to 1865.
GOP and the RNC need to be exterminated.
ROTATE THE US CAPITAL AMONGST THE STATES.
Romney 2002: “My only connection with GOP is ...”
“A bunch of self important blue blood country clubbers”
If the GOP establishment insists and succeeds in nominating Romney, after his huge defeat next November, the whole GOP gang of fat cats will implode.
Then it will be the right time to build a new Republican Conservative Party on Goldwater and Reagan ideas, which will decisively win the majority in the House and Senate in 2014. All the RINO incumbents must be challenged by true conservatives then!
Interesting: new poll shows that 63% of likely Romney voters say their vote is against Obama; only 35% said it was for Romney.
The Anti-Romney: The People Decide
Romney is “inevitable” ONLY if conservatives sit back and do nothing.
http://social.patriotactionnetwork.com/forum/topic/show?id=2600775:Topic:5760418 "They are going to just sit down and talk about a few things on the agenda," Brabender said. "One of the things that will be discussed is a potential endorsement." But it won't just be an endorsement Romney and Santorum will discuss. "The senator takes his endorsement very seriously and he will want to get some assurance that some of the issues that are very important to him will be important in a Romney administration. That's why I think they need to have a conversation," Brabender said... Source:
I wrote a similar letter to Reince P., Marguerite.
Valiant effort but the RNC doesn’t care about us Conservatives.
And unless their money source is cut off, they will likely ignore letters like ours.
“Any bets as to whether Santorum will endorse Romney?”
After he said what he said about Romney on the campaign trail???
“Valiant effort but the RNC doesnt care about us Conservatives.”
As the conservative votes represent some 45% of the Republican votes, let RNC not care about them. They will drown with their “crowned” moderate liberal from Mass.!
Newt Gingrich has just finished speaking at a Rally in Buffalo.
He was joined by Carl Paladino, local developer and former GOP gubernatorial candidate.
Paladino has been a longtime supporter of Gingrich, who enjoyed Tea Party support throughout the race. Paladino has been critical of Romney, and in a release said the following:
“Help us send a clear message to the Republican Establishment that financing Mitt Romney’s negative advertising campaign against Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum is unacceptable to the Republican rank and file whose desire is to nominate the best candidate to face down the evil that permeates Washington today. The attempt to shove Mitt Romney’s candidacy down the throats of the people is abhorrent.”
Romney Delaware Endorser Switches His Support to Gingrich
Hans Reigle, Chairman of the Kent County Republican Party, is switching his support from Mitt Romney to Newt Gingrich. Reigle has also served as the Mayor of Wyoming, Delaware and over 20 years in the United States Air Force.
I previously endorsed Governor Romney, but since then Newt is the only candidate who has shown a willingness to meet and talk with Delaware voters for more than hour, said Hans Reigle. Over the past few weeks Ive listened to Newt discussing his vision for achieving $2.50 gasoline, balancing the budget, and shrinking the size of government and it is exactly the kind of positive agenda we need for Delaware and America. Im proud to switch my support to Newt Gingrich and cast my vote for him next Tuesday.
Terry Spence, former Speaker of the Delaware House, is supporting the Georgia Republican’s presidential bid.
“Under Newt’s leadership with the Contract With America, he led a team that balanced the budget, paid off the national debt, and reformed our welfare system,” Mr. Spence said in the release. “We desperately need Newt’s knowledge, experience, and bold leadership skills to get America back on the right track. While other candidates have ignored Delaware, Newt has been campaigning here aggressively and I encourage my fellow Delawareans to vote for Newt Gingrich next Tuesday.”
We’re going to have a Conservative conference here in WI in June.
Other Tea party groups need to do same..so that we can brainstorm about how to proceed.
I say change our name to the Freedom Party, wait for the GOP to crash and get ready to take over.
Any poll numbers out of Delaware? Newt needs to win 3 more states
None that I am aware of.
