One chunk of the Republican electorate has proved an incredibly fickle voting bloc, denying party unity while the nominating process dragged on. Its the same group of conservative voters that went from candidate to candidate, looking for an alternative to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
Now, out of options, it seems that those who identify themselves as tea party supporters are finally coming home to the presumptive nominee.

Yeah. You're probably right.
Deroy Murdock: As governor, Romney said I do to gay marriage at least 189 times
Who voted in all those primaries?
You don't agree with the results, but who voted.
In PA our election is next week and I'm voting for Newt, for President, Evan Feinberg for 18th district congress critter and the most conservative guy that I can find for Senate and right now that looks like Smith, but I'm not 100% on him yet.
If Newt doesn't make it, does that mean that in November, I stay home and pout or come back out and write in a sure loser?
Nope, not me, I'm a TEA party guy and have been since the beginning, but I won't sit and bitch about how those bastard elites have screwed me out of my candidate and then cut off my nose.
I will/am campaign against liberals in the primary and election. Mitt is a liberal.
I've already made calls and personal visits to campaign against him.

This isn't a Republican site. It's a conservative site, and Republicans aren't conservatives.
If they were, they wouldn't have used their dirty trick machines and rule-changing BS to support the liberal Romney.
Call me stupid if you like. I still will not vote for ANY liberal. Ever. Including Romney.
/johnny
People like you amaze me in your kindergarten view of the political world.
> “If you cant bring yourself to vote for the Republican candidate because you dont like him, and you think you are teaching someone a lesson, you are so foolish I cant even find words to describe it.”
You see the problem is you think Romney is a Republican and is better because of that than Obama. But Romney is a democrat that is taking over the republican party because he is a really good liar, a master at it.
He can look you in the eye and as Rush Limbaugh says “he sounds just like us”. But he is not, he is just another Obama.
Romney will appoint liberal judges, he will advance the gay rights movement, he will keep the tax provisions of Obamacare, he will sign on to gun control and he will allow the big NY banks to continue to dominate in areas of the economy and politics.
So you are given the false choice of voting for Romney or as your kind says to not vote which would be construed as a vote for Obama. It’s a false choice because you make people feel that no matter what they do they will be faced with evil so they must give in and support evil.
You are in effect saying to people “You must support evil to stop evil”.
And then you get flustered when people show you a figurative middle finger salute.
We conservatives are going to be here in 2016 as well as before and after 2016. We will be more powerful then because Obama will be done or have been impeached.
But Romney threatens to take over our party and if he gets the nod the reality will be that we have no party. Therefore, Romney must go so that we can have our party back to fight with later.
I thank God for that as well. Thanx, bro.
This.
Fine, stupid is as stupid does and you guys are stupid.
Enjoy more of obami’s marxism.
And we keep missing the point of why conservatives lost. This is not Romney’s fault or the GOP-E. Do we expect them to lie down and have a candidate they don’t support?
The fault comes back to Sarah Palin, DeMint, and other GOP conservative leaders. None made sure a viable, top-tier candidate entered the race nor did they endorse early to push one of the second-tier candidates to the top. The GOP Tea Party Caucus in the House did not come together early on in the primaries and endorse a candidate.
The Tea Party’s grass roots nature is also it’s downfall. We needed an early, clear winner to emerge and no organization or group had the will to gather together with others, to network, and to make some small compromises to make that happen. The grooming for that should have happened 3 years ago.
Instead we waited with baited breath to see what Sarah would and she decided not to run at practically the last minute. I am a Palin supporter, but most of the blame for a Romney nomination falls on her. She waited too long to say she’s not getting in, and she never pulled out all the stops and rallied people in support of a candidate. She is the only one who individually could have made that happen and she refused to use that power.
I like Gingrich much better than Romney, but unless major conservative leaders rally around him now, there is no chance of him winning the GOP nomination. Even then it is only a slight chance.
If conservatives take control of the House leadership positions and the GOP gets control of the Senate, the country will be destroyed. If the change in House and Senate happens, Romney can be forced into submission. Obama cannot. He will continue to do his executive orders and unconstitutional actions that are miles away from Romney’s good old boy liberalism. The one redeeming thing about Romney is that he caves to pressure while Obama doesn’t. Barring a miracle with Gingrich, we need to have Romney in the White House and have a Congress that can exert this pressure on him.
The way the system is currently rigged, when the conservative loses the Republican nomination, it’s Game Over, because there is no place else to go. This sucks, because establishment GOP types will do whatever they can to make sure the Conservative loses.
It is too late for 2012. We’re boxed in. But we should figure out some other strategy for 2016.
I like the pirate model. If your ship is sinking, you take your enemy’s ship and sail on to fight another day. I say we take the Democrat nomination in 2016 and cut the Republicans loose.
Which is why I've voted for the conservative in the last 5 elections. I'm not a Republican. My guy doesn't always win, but he always has my vote.
/johnny
I’ve seen your argument a thousand times on here.
I don’t buy it.
Sorry.
Re: Ditto. Our choice is unpalatable but clear!
You bet, ANYBODY but obama
A vote for McCain just emboldened them, because they knew they had the "We have to hold our nose and vote GOP" crowd.
Go for it. I will campaign AGAINST all liberals. Including Romney.
/johnny
We should work to make sure we are not hosed again in 2016.
Unfortunately, we have been well and truly hosed this time around. No use denying it.
We either have to take over the Republican Party and eject the establishment Republicans, start a viable 3rd party, or take over the Democrat Party.
The first strategy has not been working real well for us for the past thirty years. The second strategy does not look promising either.
I’m sure we could but I’m sick of voting for the lesser of two evils. That is what got us in this messed up position to begin with and I’m not going to continue contributing to that.
Romney want’s my vote, he has to earn it. I want gun control laws GONE. The Government must be punished for Fast and Furious... they must lose some power over firearms. If Romney will commit to that, I’ll support him. Until then, NO CHANCE IN HELL.
LOL! That's true. What do you get when you cut off your nose to spite your face? You get a noseless face and a lifetime of trying to explain that moment of insanity.
Sorry, but I no longer have any hope that we'll be able to avoid the totalitarian nightmare I've been seeing out of the corner of my eye all my life. You can expect full scale riots in some quarters later this year over one manufactured incident or another. They are just warming up the crowds over this Trevon Martin thug.
I’ve already stated my opinion that the GOP nor the press did not vote for Romney to be our nominee. We did.
If you want to vote for Obama, you ‘go for it.’
I won’t.
I would not call you stupid.
That would be mean.
I’ll keep my opinion of your intelligence to myself and hope you will give me the same courtesy.
I will be voting for a conservative.
/johnny
Why will you believe a confirmed liar? Romney has shown time and time again that he can lie with a straight face and normal voice tone. Just like obama.
The Tea Party may have, but has Jim Robinson warmed up to Romney?
I would say that “warmed up” is the incorrect term.
I would not characterize a single comment on this thread as being particularly “warm”. But “warm” is irrelevant.
The electorate does care as evidenced by their action in 2010.
2010 galvanized the electorate into action because of primarily two factors:
1) Bailouts for cronies and
2) Obamacare rammed down their throats.
What we have now is:
1) Wait and see on the Supreme Court regards to Obamacare.
2) The Federal Reserve through their surrogate member banks propping up federal, state governments and markets through money created out of thin air.
So the social mood is watchful and subdued, waiting for a spark to ignite its fury again.
For my earlier two points regarding Newt’s brokered convention and Sheriff Arpaio, I am not saying they are sure to happen but that it is plausible they could happen.
First a brokered convention is free from negative ads, from bribes to delegates and from democrats crossing to vote for Romney in the primaries. The focus is one on one with delegates and floor speeches. Newt wins in these kinds of arenas so there is a good chance he turns the convention upside down.
With respect to Sheriff Arpaio, he has given hints that they have info on the forger of the long form birth certificate (LFBC). Although true that this does not affect voters in their pocketbooks, it does make the media stand up and take note that a forger exists, has been identified and hopefully arrested.
Now this forgery scenario will likely generate great sensation and mystery. If it plays out well for the Sheriff and I believe it will because the media will then have to pay attention to other evidence the Sheriff has, then we can see a spark that will ignite a movement to get the corrupt bastards out of the public arena and into prison or driven from politics for good.
It is not necessary that all this happens, it only matters that the confluence of these unrelated things make people angry enough to get rid of Romney and drive Obama out of office where the courts can later deal with he and his people.
If Romney gets the nomination at the convention, it is nearly certain that he will lose to Obama. I view this as an opportunity for conservatives to stop Obama with a conservative influence in the House and Senate, and to take back the GOP from those that have warred against conservatives.
In this latter case history will record that conservatives and GOP liberals fought a civil war within their party for control and I hope to see it written that the conservatives won and then turned their attention on the democrats.
It is written that in the WWII European Theatre that the American military brass and American political ranks fought at each other and within each other for the first 2 years until one side won out against the other, then they turned their attention to the Germans.
We face a long war and those that sell out to Romney will suffer the consequences.
The bottom-line is that Romney is a democrat that has taken over the Republican Party. In the slim chance that he won the presidency, the Republican Party would be lost to conservatives for generations, the party of Reagan would cease to exist and the Rockefeller Republican class would resume control.
But Romney will not win the general election, and conservatives must move in for the kill when he loses. Because those fence sitting GOP moderates in the Senate will be watching and if they see how determined we are, they should block just about anything Obama tries to get through.
Although Obama has shown his willingness to thumb his nose at the Constitution, he will not be able to appoint judges without Senate approval. That fact and the expectation that the GOP will control the Senate means conservatives need to exert extraordinary influence on fence sitting Senators in much the same way that Obama and his thugs exerted in the throes of ramming Obamacare down our throats.
Don’t be more of a republican coward than you already are. You’re a Romney flying monkey shill now, whether you want to admit it or not.
Our anger right now should not be at the GOP-E and Romney. They were just working to get what they wanted.
Our anger should be toward Palin, Gingrich, DeMint, and even ourselves as Freepers because we did not come up with a plan to rally behind one credible conservative leader early in the process. We are the ones who got played and we need to suck it up and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Taking our ball and going home is the recipe of ideological libertarians and look at their success.
We can take over the GOP. We’ve already got a great start if we don’t fold now. There is one extremely big difference between Obama and Romney even though they both suck. Romney is a wuss not an idealogue. That can be played into the advantage of getting more things passed by a conservative congress. Obama will just be a blocker who continues his hate America agenda.
If Romney sucks it up bad enough in his first term and defies the right, we can throw him out in a primary battle if we learn the right lessons from this primary season. It’s the conservative leaders that screwed us over, not the GOP-E.
Who's defending black liberation theology? I also noticed you missed my point about the mormons. Are you trying to change the subject? Getting frustrated because you can't defend the bogus claim made that the "Tea Party Warms to Romney"? Because if you are it isn't going to work. There is NO DIFFERENCE between obomba and romney. Changing the subject will NOT change this fact nor will it get us to jump on-board with romney. Been there, done that. Remember McSkidmark? Remember George (Read my lips) Bush Sr.? Remember George (Spend more and grow the size of government) Bush Jr? Remember Bob Dole? Remember Gerald Ford? I do. I'm sick and tired of voting for scumbags simply because our scumbags aren't as bad as their scumbags. In this case romney makes it quite easy to say enough. If he's the nominee he will NOT get my vote nor will he get the support of most Tea Party members. I don't care how much smoke you try to pump our a**es romney is NO DIFFERENT than obomba. To paraphrase one poster from earlier on... Why change devils when I already know the one I've got?
Honestly you're shillng in the wrong place. Newt's our guy here on FR. If you don't like that then that's your problem.
Thanks for noticing. I am stupid. I have never claimed to be anything but stupid. I am stupid enough to believe in absolutes. Like I absolutely believe in good and evil. I believe in black and white. I am too stupid to believe in grey areas. I am too stupid to grasp the concept that good is evil and evil is good and quite frankly I don't want to. Living in the real world serves me just fine thank you very much.
"Enjoy more of obamis marxism."
Why? Newt hasn't dropped out yet. I don't see obomney garnering enough delegates to win the Republican nomination outright and if he doesn't by the convention then even Sarah Palin or some unknown candidate could step up and be our nominee. I can still be optimistic that neither obomba nor his twin brother romney will be in the White House for another four years. I understand how this stupidity those like me possess really irks you elitists but have patience with us. We're happy believing that there is still some good in the world. We're happy believing that some how, some way someone is going to step up and offer to be our knight in shining armor. Someone much better than me and those like me, with the integrity and intestinal fortitude to do what's right, will take the reins and guide our nation back to a place where all men can live free and unencumbered by pompous asses in the government and their excessive government regulations.
Oh I know... I'm stupid for having faith in God and for believing that perhaps, this one time, the citizens of the United States of America will repent for allowing a piece of s*** like obomba to capture and enslave our country. I'm stupid for thinking that Americans are smarter than you obomneyites give us credit for and we are NOT going to allow either obomba or romney to continue to lead us down this globalist path of destruction.
Yup... I'm stupid.
I'll bet that's the same line Benedict Arnold used in his defense for betraying his neighbors and countrymen. But what do I know? I've never wavered as a Newt and Sarah supporter. In fact when I am the member of a team I support that team with everything I have. Somehow I don't think you'd understand but that's ok. romney's going to need all the help he can get. I know I won't vote for him and I don't know anyone that says they will.
I’m glad you agree.
You are obviously happy to have 4 more years of obami. That makes you stupid.
That’s a false argument that is a re-hash from 2008. No more suck it up deals for a lesser evil. Romney and the GOP can pound sand.
I understand your point of view, but I really don’t see any realistic way to get past the race hustlers, and the general dumbed down nature of what our country has devolved into. I’d like to think there was some hope for us, but I just can’t see it, and frankly I’m ready, willing and able for what is coming.
Classy.
I ignored this at first but the tenor of remarks on this forum has deteriorated to the point that I decided to report abuse on you.
What place does a phrase like you used have in any rational discussion?
Just as there is no honor among thieves, there is no chance at rational discussion with liars.
If you support a liar, you support deception. There is no chance of discussion.
Hit the abuse button all you want, it won’t change the fact that you are a supporter of Romney and his deception.
It does not matter what you buy. What you have bought is Romney and his character which is 180 degrees from that of the Party of Reagan.
No problem. I'd rather be stupid than deaf and dumb.
"You are obviously happy to have 4 more years of obami."
Really? I don't recall endorsing obomney. Of the two of us I'm the only one stupid enough to NOT shill for obomney.
"That makes you stupid."
Yes... I understand how you elitists snobs view those of us that are grounded in reality. We're the 'stupid' ones that cling to our bibles and guns instead of qurans and the book of mormon.
Praise God I'm not as smart as you. Not being cranially constipated like you I don't possess a need to sport a glass belly to see where I am going.
