Scott Walker: Thanks to me, Wisconsin isn't another Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, in a fight for his political career, used Illinois' economic problems as a "contrast" Tuesday, April 17, to bolster his chances in a June recall election.

The Republican made no secret of the fact that his speech before business leaders in Springfield was sending a message back home.

"If voters in our state want to know the difference between going forward or backwards, they need only look at the mess that you have in state government here in Springfield to know what it would be like if the recall ultimately prevailed," Walker told reporters after giving the keynote speech for "Illinois Employer Action Day."

Not true. Our ruins in Ill. don’t attract tourists.

Walker is not going to be recalled.

Too many people know what he’s doing was necessary and actually kept government workers employed (note nobody’s quit their jobs for a private sector job), and are working.

He’s not going anywhere. Then the rats will be out all that money and they can’t try to recall him again.

In his victory statement on June 5 he should call openly for a food fight in the state schools cafeterias. That will put the teachers in their place.

Always reluctant to call someone living “great” but Walker is inspiring.

I only wish he’d gone over the the IL State Capitol and given them a bid to provide outsourced state government.

Scott Walker is a great guy but he’s not a great man. He is, however, a fearless conservative who happened to come onto the scene when the state of Wisconsin finally decided to listen to a conservative. No doubt there have been equally inspired conservatives throughout the years who were ignored by the voters and the state media for decades.

Why do you say he’s not a great man?

He’s an Eagle scout, a Christian, a conservative who has stood steadfast in the face of all opposition. There aren’t many politicians who will stay the course in the face of opposition who will march in front of his house.

Can Republicans vote in the Dem primary? If so, who would result in the most fun?

“He’s not going anywhere. Then the rats will be out all that money and they can’t try to recall him again.”

I pray you’re right. But it may depend on how many fraudulent voters they can bus in like they did with importing all those union thugs for the protests and sit-ins.

He has far too much class to ask the kids to behave like government union teachers.

You must not live here. The people realize it. The unions and the democrats are the ones pushing this. Particularly the teachers’ unions.
