Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann stopped just short of endorsing Mitt Romney on Sunday, saying she was “very seriously looking into an endorsement.”

“I think we're seeing a uniting and a pulling together around our eventual nominee," she said on NBC’s Meet the Press. "And I have said that I want my voice to be one of uniting our party, the independents, the mainstream, conservatives, evangelicals, the tea party movement. I want to unite our party.”

No!

Don’t do it Michele.

Mitt is an Albino Obama.

Apparently a lot of people are going to be “dead” to you:

Dick Cheney, Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, and every conservative who advocates doing the only Constitutional thing we can do to remove Obama from office...

Voting.

If she thinks she is going to be his Sarah Palin, she needs a mental evaluation.

I’m becoming more and more convinced as each day goes by that the reason why Rove, FOX News, The GOP-e, et al, are pushing so hard to nominate the Reagan loathing, conservatism loathing, tea party loathing, abortionist, statist/progressive Mitt Romney is to try to destroy the tea party. Romney cannot win the general (for many obvious reasons) but that doesn’t faze them. The tea party is a threat to the RINO GOP/statist hold on power so must be destroyed.

When otherwise stalwart tea party “leaders” start caving, then the tea party will have less and less credibility, less and less participation and less and less influence.

Whether Romney wins or loses, it’ll be mission accomplished for Rove & Co.

Well, now, that was just damned interesting. Plausible, too.

Another thought is this: They believe there is no saving the current USA, with the mountain of debt we now have, a faltering economic structure, and so on. So they'd rather a Democrat be the one in the history books to preside over a dissolved US, like we remember Gorbechev presiding over a dissolved USSR.

I agree with that wholeheartedly.

I also see newbie operatives coming here to take advantage of our discontent and further erode our morale by diminishing those who we perceived as being on our side but have let us down....and posting endless articles to shove it in our faces.

JMO.

Seems dead-on.

We've already seen a lot of economic self-survival knashing of teeth on FR...so it'd make sense that the GoP-e power base has the same kneejerk impulse to the tea party...

We've seen the GoP grow increasingly Big govt...because the temptation to "get in on" the largesse is just too great...

So the RINOs have wanted their "own rascal" Big Govt guy vs. that other rascal Big Govt guy in the WH.

I kinda agree, but they’ve been at it longer than the TEA party has existed such as its spontaneous existence is. I firmly believe that the hard target is Conservatism albeit the TEA Party is Conservatism.

Conservatism, TEA Party, whichever, or both as both are reflections of conservatism they’re targets for the Leftists, the Leftist RINO’s.

WE are a PIA to them. WE have to be more of a PIA to them.

Do it, and Backwoods Engineer will be "Very Seriously Looking Into" asking for his money back, Michele.

If that is indeed true, and you could very well be right, we're in a deep world of hurt.

Beck had to push and push to get her to say she would support a true conservative non-republican over a rino. And you could tell she didn’t really mean it.

Well, McCain threw the last election on purpose; of this I have no doubt. What you posit makes sense. The GOP insider elitists are just as much enemies of the Constitution as the Dems/Progressives. Just different flavors of deadly poison.

To splinter the conservative side, that is for sure.

Romney may be the ‘inevitable pick’ of GOP, but conservative base will not be enthusiastic about him.

Furthermore. Whoever endorses him right now weakens the conservative cred he/she has. Next time Jim DeMint’s SCF and other similar ‘cry for moneybomb’ will not be getting my money, instead my funds will be used for prepping.

I am so digusted with the Tea Party Favorites coming out endorsing the ultimate party elite guy.
