Mitt Romney leads President Obama in the first Gallup national daily tracking poll.
Romney took 47 percent support from surveyed registered voters, while Obama took 45 in a poll conducted between April 11 and April 15. Romney's edge though is within the poll's three point margin of error.
Independents tipped the scale in favor of Romney, going for the former Massachusetts governor 45 percent to 39.

Yep...just follow the locusts and see where they congregate.
Gingrich has been my choice from the beginning, but I am a realist and it is not in the cards for him to be nominated. Romney is the only alternative to Obama at this time.
No offense, but I don’t campaign for guys with liberal/progressive records like Romney’s. I don’t put up signs for them in my front yard and there will be no campaign for them on FR!! Whether or not you get banned is completely up to you. You’ve left and come back again more than once already. I’m guessing you really don’t know the difference between conservatism and progressivism. You seem to be a tad confused on our purposes here.
Romney is NOT the only alternative to Obama if we act and you aren’t a realist, sweetie; you’re acting like a quitter.
The Republican Party does not now, nor has it ever, belonged to any particular faction. Four months is more than enough time to turn this show boat around.
I could see Romney winning PA and/or CO.
But now the answer is to give Obama 4 more years so he can absolutely destroy the United States and leave it to Conservatives who will have either nothing left to rebuild or we'll watch how Obama installs himself permanently into the Presidency? I will not give him 8 years to entrench his liberal tentacles into every aspect of our lives. And, yes, when I typed "tentacles" it originally posted as "testicles"! Which Obama has none of either.
Sending a message to the GOP-e is a bad idea. They will never get the message. Why? Because they don't make decisions based on what's good for the country.
They're nothing more than a collection of idiots, sabateurs, and media butt sniffers.
They must be defeated.
Whether we do it from inside the party or from outside the party, neither scenario would be easy.
But they must be defeated.
And let's not forget.
We need to defeat Obama.
Remember him?
The hutzpah of a total stranger asking a woman her weight!
Hate to break it to you, but Newt has lost. He’s broke, he has said in recent days if Romney is the nominee, he will support him 100%. He is staying in to add another conservative voice at the convention, but even he knows he’s out of it. I believe his campaign bounced a check yesterday. Sad, I liked him too, but I face reality when it’s right in front of me.

“Obama has never faced defeat in his life.”
— MNDude
(D-IL) Bobby Rush whipped Obama in an election.
Do you ever check your thoughts first before they spill out onto Free Republic thread pages and the Eternal Internet?
Obama’s strategy has always been to get all of his opponents disqualified from opposing him in elections - In any way possible.
SEE: Ryan Vs Obama in Illinois
When Obama was in HS “attempting” to play basketball - He would angrily stomp off the court in practice because his own teammates were so much better players than he could ever be.
He was only a bench-sitter on a Championship HS basketball team.
He never played college basketball.....
Sarah Palin was a tough scrambler and shot the winning foul shot that made her HS team the Alaska Girl’s State Championship Team.
This taught Obama that he could only win in life be “fixing” the game by getting his opponents eliminated in any way possible.
His technique was and still is too “fix” the numbers of voters by any means possible.
- No Votor ID Cards
- Get Illegal Aliens to vote
- Get convicted felons to vote
- Buy votes by giving away your money
- Put the New Black Pansies out at polling places
- Get corrupt Secretaries of State(s) in office
- Get radicals to vote many times
- Crank up the dead vote
- etc.
The old time-tested LBJ formula(s)

Let’s go by the Bullshoot Rule -

I think some people here would rather Obama win just so they can say “told you Romney couldn’t win ,” at the expense of our great nation. Or maybe they want Obama to win another term in the theory that it’ll bring about a political apocalypse. I really don’t know.
I’m with you. No way Romney is worse than Obama. NONE! And I don’t even like the guy! I don’t think any of us do! In fact, I think most of his support comes from people who see no other alternative!
Other people can elect their preferred socialist, and if he’s the slightly less socialist guy, I suppose that’s preferrable.
I can’t vote for either socialist.
Hey, I love Sarah Palin, but I wouldn’t say she was a good basketball player. Sure, her FT shot won the game, but it was her only point of the game!
Now Obama is TERRIBLE! I believe he was a bencher.
The message will be that it’s pointless to woo conservatives who act like petulant children. This is the point that Santorum missed so badly: we are trying to win an election, not usher in a new world order.
........then what happens when Romney’s bishopness in a cult is broadcast? Oy boy....
And this poll is registered voters.
As for NC, Obama “won” it by the narrowest of margins, he won’t do better.
VA though I’m a little worried about. VA, OH and FL are must wins.
PA, MI and OH could all go GOP this election, making up for VA and NC. Thats where a VP from one of those Rust Belt states could loom HUGE.
...you dream if you believe MI or PA is going red...PA is the most corrupt state in the Union, I know, I’ve lived here for half of my six decades; both are union hotbeds, run by thugs unleashed by big city machines come electon day, and are none too careful about vote fraud...and OH? I don’t see Mitt getting much traction there, with Kasich’s numbers tanking and the union thugs mobilizing...bottom line, Mitt makes it closer than anybody else would (for the newtoids on this forum, he’d take two or three Deep South states and lose all the rest),but Obama gets his second term...
See my new tagline...
Bad on me for not catching your sarcasm. I’m usually quicker to pick up on it. I love it! Keep it up.
Don’t be stupid.
It’s Romney all the way! Plus the Senate, the House and 2 maybe even 3 Supreme Court nominees...
So what’s your problem?
I take it you'd much rather vote for the Kenya communist who launched his political career in the kitchen of the anti-American terrorist Bill Ayers and spent 20 years of his life attending the “church” services of the arch racist hate monger Jeremiah Wright.
Let me know what you are smoking will ya?
On further reading down the thread, I realize you were being sarcastic. Apologies.
“So whats your problem?”
The problem is yours. You’re being weak kneed caving in to the GOPe.
No Romney, no way.
Nice to see you again.
Yeah, well, Obama’s Chicago style political machine hasn’t started to destroy him yet.
I know, really bad. I’m so pissed. I want to see the Kenyan up by 10-20 points from now until the election. Maybe I should donate to his campaign fund./SARCASM
FR is whacky the past few weeks....
Ditto
“I want to see the Kenyan up by 10-20 points from now until the election. Maybe I should donate to his campaign fund./SARCASM”
Better that then another RINO who will do worse things than Obama, right?

(Fox News) - PHOENIX — Mitt Romney will address the Republican National Committee meeting of state party chairmen this Friday in Phoenix, where he will stake his claim to the GOP nomination and call upon party leaders to unite, FOX News Channel reported.
The meeting will be attended by more than 40 of the RNC’s 50 state GOP chairmen, along with 200 additional officials, activists and political professionals as they gear up for the fall campaign to oust President Barack Obama.
Although Romney had a major fundraiser planned for Friday in Phoenix for some time, his appearance at the RNC meeting was only finalized Monday, FOX reported.
At the meeting, Romney, who has yet to officially wrap up the nomination, is expected to explicitly assume the role of titular head of the GOP as its 2012 presidential nominee.
The former Massachusetts governor will give his marching orders to the state GOP chairmen and spur them to the shared cause of retaking the White House.

Don’t believe everything you hear on the internet. It is my opinion that NOBODY running is WORSE than o bama. Some are a lot better, some just a little bit better.
Yes, it does make sense and there’s always a slight chance mittens doesn’t end up with the nomination.
Only in ultra-BLUE states is such a protest advisable. This country won’t exist after another 4 years of Obama.
I think o bama loves himself way more than mittens does. Both he and Moochelle think they are really something special.
He will never bow out... NEVER.... but I think if it looks like he will lose, he will dump Biden and choose Hillary as VP if she will do it.
“Dont believe everything you hear on the internet. It is my opinion that NOBODY running is WORSE than o bama. Some are a lot better, some just a little bit better.”
Then you’re in direct conflict with those that run this site.
I believe Obama will be divorced and broke within 5 years of losing in 2012.

Divorced, yes, broke, no. He’s got a huge stash somewhere.
Only improvement over Obama would possibly be Romneys US Supreme Court justice appointments.
Hang me from the yardarm, but after all weve seen in recent years where the Republic has hung from a thread by a 5-4 decision, thats enough motivation for me

Romney will pick judges way more liberal than o bama would. I know this because people here say so./s
If Soeotro wins again, I expect him to pick Van Jones, Rev. Wright, Farakhan types next time. No need to play even halfway nice when he isn’t in campaign mode.
I wonder if she wears her Hopey and Changey T-shirt every day?
Careful how you speak around these parts. Romney is the Antichrist while Obama is just a marxist.

It’s probably a good idea to just lurk until for a few months. The US is divided, FR is divided. They brutally bashed all of the conservative candidates, Sarah, Cain, Perry, Newt, Michelle, now we will probably be left with Romney and we are expected to sit it out and help the Kenyan win. I don’t think I can do that.
bye bye what? Are you calling for banning people from this forum because they want vote for Romney over Obama? If that is the case then 90% of the members would be banned...good luck...
_______________________
Better to lurk if Mittens ends up being the nominee. Then see if FR becomes a pro-obama forum in which case it loses a lot of members but gains quite a few from DU, Kos, etc.
I haven’t seen anyone (that hasn’t already been zotted) campaigning for mittens on FR. Saying you will vote for him, to oust o bama, IF he does end up being the nominee is NOT the same thing as supporting him over other conservative or republican candidates. What is it about that you don’t get?
My primary is OVER. I voted for Newt. Romney won my state. It sucks but there are a lot of snowbird republicans that aren’t particularly conservative on social issues. It is what it is.
ABO in November.

You posted JR’s words and I’m sure we have all read them and respect his choice to not vote if he chooses not to but he has stated he also respects others to make their own choices at the polls, but FR will not be a “supporting mittens forum”. JR has never told other Freepers not to vote against o bama. If he has, show me the post.
ABO in November.
