I had a dream. Rommey/Palin ticket wins in November. But wait, there's more.......

Not to say it will happen, but what if Mitt chose Sarah as his running mate (and she accepted). What if there was an agreement where Mitt actually came to the conclusion that with Sarah as his VP running mate, he would resign immediately as President so Sarah could become President. I know, I know...you say no way. But the Lord works in misterious ways. Mitt just might see the light and realize that the only way to make sure Obama is defeated is to first, choose Sarah as his running mate and second, once elected immediately step down and let her save this country from destruction. Of course, Sarah would probably give Mitt a position within her cabinet that would allow him to help from his business experience but that would be fine.

There will probably be massive unrest and street riots by those who don't realize that they have just been saved if this were to happen. In my opinion, reality will set in after they see this country turn around and become the Nation it was intended to be by our Founders. God and Country will finally be restored.

I don't believe this type of senerio has ever been done before in history. I don't believe it is unconstitutional or illegal in anyway but just think of what it could do to turn around the train wreck that we are headed for if we continue down the present path we are on.

Comments welcome. Either pro or con or in between. :-)

I had a dream too, that Sarah Palin, who was unwilling to subject her family to the type of liberal abuse she would get by running for President, would instead subject her family to equal abuse by running for the second spot on the ticket for the second election in succession.

But then, I always did have goofy dreams.

Why would Romney put people in his cabinet with whom he has profound political disagreement? Why would they accept a position in the cabinet of a man with whom they disagree and in many cases, do not like?

To influence the direction of policy formulation and the debate in general, one might suppose. It's how the game is played. I haven't heard any one amongst those who ran say that they didn't "like" someone personally. They might not have liked what someone else did, an ad someone ran perhaps, or didn't like the outcome of a primary, but I think most of the "personal" vitriol happens on discussion boards.

Smart campaigners keep their emotions in check. Santorum was not more clever than Obama in this regard in all this Trayvon Martin brouhaha for example. Posters to blog boards don't have that emotion check constriction, either, largely due to the fact posters to boards are anonymous.

These people know that once Romney is elected that they would have absolutely no influence over him.

That's not what I hear from the likes of Palin, Gingich, West, McDonnell, Haley, Ayotte, and a host of other Tea Party republicans who are actually holding or have held elective office.

Romney didn’t campaign to have his political enemies run the show.

They may have been his primary opponents, but I hardly think as strategic-thinking and savvy a business alliance builder as he is, he sees only "enemies" --- as a host of posters around here have made of the opposing candidates who were not their first favorites. I think he sees allies.

I think he's looking at a lot of scrappy fighting allies in the battle for this fall's elections. And he'll need every one of them. And if he's as smart as he's shown himself to be in alot of ways on a lot of things, he will employ their skills in the larger effort of winning.

Depressed losers is what we have to make the DNC.

I think there's too many on this board too willing to give up -- and Obama's minions just laugh for what ineffective fools they've made of their opposition without having to even try or even spend a dime to make it happen.

FReegards!

Sounds exactly like the kind of mindset which leads to "bipartisianism" where conservatives are forced to give away the farm. Is that an admission that Romney will govern from the left (like everyone knows he will) if he is elected? No all-star team of conservatives in Romney's cabinet will drag his away from his instincts and inject conservative principles where none have ever existed.

No question that a bunch of big-name conservatives will support Romney but almost all have or aspire to positions of power or favor within the Republican Party which they are not going to jeopardize. Us rank and file members of the Republican Party are not so obligated. If someone is totally distasteful to us, we don't have to endorse him, work for his election, or even vote for him.

I have voted for the Republican Presidential candidate in every election since Ford, sometimes unenthusiastically. As I have been saying since early 2008, I won't vote for Romney. He's everything in politics that I have been fighting since the Reagan Revolution (and earlier as a youngster, when I first became interested in politics with Goldwater).

That WAS a dream. It won’t happen. Very recently, Romney spoke disparagingly about Sarah Palin to some of his donors. He warned them of the possibility of “evangelicals and Sarah Palin” having a voice at the convention.

He looks down his polished, patrician nose at Sarah Palin. He doesn’t know what to make of people like her, or us. And she has said she won’t take the #2 slot again.

"I just heard Herman Cain say he is going to support Romney. I guess he’s an evil RINO now also"

This is old news, seen on FR days ago, but no, Herman isn't an "evil RINO." He's just lacking in integrity, which I found out way back during his campaign. He said, "Look, I endorsed Newt at one point, OK?" as if it was some passing whim.

On the other hand, Rick Perry is sticking with Newt, presumably until the end. Contrast the character of Perry and Cain.

Romney will pick a fellow squishy RINO for his VP. He has already thrown cultural conservatives and the health care issue under the bus

And Santa Claus will finally bring me that Jaguar I've been wanting, and the Tooth Fairy will give everyone a million bucks for their old dentures, and I will win the lottery jackpot and get my wife a bodacious boob job!

The Obama plan is to attack the racist history of Mormonism. Romney will be humiliated and disgraced by his association with Mormonism. They can also use this to associate the GOP with racism which they love to do. This is why the media wants Romney to get the nomination.

If Ron Paul gets the nomination then Obama would be forced to explain and defend the Fed which makes a select group ultra rich and powerful. Obama would have to defend his broken promise to bring the troops home in 16 months. Obama would have to debate the constitution, economics and liberty...none of which he can do. Obama would have to defend the debt, no budget, wars waged not with congressional support but with the support of the ‘international community’, and on and on.

So, who does the GOP push and who do so called conservatives support? Romney. The GOP, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. When will people learn?

Actually, what doomed McCain was his suspending his campaign to deal with the Financial Sabotage staged by the Democrats. Until then, Palin had boosted McCain's campaign and they had serious momentum. After that, the McCainiacs had to try to find someone to blame, and they blamed Palin.

I would add that as well, it appeared the McCain staff muzzled Palin and neutered her potential unapologetically no holds barred conservative message instead seeking a more politically correct message that gave 0b0zo the opportunity to sell a dream rather than defend himself from himself and his nefarious credentials.

If Mitt picked Palin as VP and they won, I would hope that Mittens would be incapacitated soon after swearing in and have to step down.

To me, it seems that the reason she is considered stupid is her voice.

Actually, the whole meme is built upon a paradoy of her, not the actual person. Pure Alinsky: form a paridigm based on parody and then attack the paradigm, not the person.

Repeat it often enough and people will confuse the two to the point they can't tell what is reality and what is parody.

Lots of good points there.

One thing is probable, that Romney will be the nominee.

We can either become irrelevant by continuing to oppose Romney (I never liked the guy) or try to further our agenda with pressure on him to form a cabinet like you suggest, continue to apply pressure by getting more conservative in the house and senate, and pressing for him to maintain as much conservative ideology as we can get.

Those who say Romney is as bad as Bambi are unbelievably foolish: I don't like the man, but good grief, get a grip, that's so far from the truth that it hurts. Like Levin says you vote for an orange juice can over Obama.

I met Breitbart a few weeks before he died at a conservative conference. What he said was clear and correct: Work like Hell for the candidate you choose, but in the end, you have to consolidate around the nominee (even if you don't like him), because the evil of this administration is beyond anything we have seen or experienced. To let him win again would be to let that evil consolidate and everything we stand for will die.
