Is the second-degree murder charge against George Zimmerman fair?
Crain's New York Business.com ^ | 4/11/2012

Is the charge of murder in the Trayvon Martin case justified?

Yes. The charge allows the judicial process to move forward. A jury will determine whether Mr. Zimmerman acted in self-defense.

No. The special prosecutor didn’t cite any new evidence to justify sidestepping state law. This is a response to political pressure.

Zimmerman’s lawyer is accepting donations for his defense.

It has a much higher threshold of proof as it requires both motivation and per-meditation to some degree versus manslaughter.

The more I think about this, the more I think they may have done Zimmerman a favor by charging him.

Better be tried in courts than lynched by hooded racists in the dark of night.

Doesn’t matter. If you are white—you are wrong. Film and take all the photos you like. Doesn’t matter. I am not scared to speak this any longer. I am done sitting back and paying for the sins of the past. Done.

Hmmm, this probably explains why I tend to only agree with around 63% of conservatives all the time.

I don’t mean to be glib, but honestly, charging Zimmerman with murder was the ONLY choice in this case. To ignore it would have been suicidal, politically, at least.

This way, the truth comes out. And the truth IS what counts here, right?

Horse manure!

When is the last time you have seen someone lynched by hooded racists in the middle of the night?

I do recall a Black racist named OJ Simpson be cleared by a mostly Black jury despite overwhelming proof of his guilt.

[It has a much higher threshold of proof as it requires both motivation and per-meditation to some degree versus manslaughter.]

That’s why I don’t understand why they would go through with the indictment unles it was political. The motivation and premeditation is situationally a stretch. Then you have to consider a lack of a full eyewitness account, and what there is seems to indicate Martin on top of Zimmerman.

Tie goes to the runner.

If there was a million dollar bounty on my head, I wouldn't worry about when it happened in the past but when it will happen to me.

I don’t have answers, just speculation. Maybe there is evidence we don’t know about and we are all wrong? Hannity hinted something the other day about possible video evidence that we haven’t heard about. I don’t know. Just taking a guess.

That is 100% correct, but that doesn’t matter at all to the race-baiter crowd, OMG2012.

IIRC, on the 911 tape Zimmerman said Marting was coming toward him?
