Romney: ‘I Congratulate Senator Santorum’
TPM ^ | April 10, 2012 | Mitt Romney

Posted on 04/10/2012 11:50:06 AM PDT by Brown Deer

Mitt Romney’s campaign issued the following statement congratulating Rick Santorum:

“Senator Santorum is an able and worthy competitor, and I congratulate him on the campaign he ran. He has proven himself to be an important voice in our party and in the nation. We both recognize that what is most important is putting the failures of the last three years behind us and setting America back on the path to prosperity.”

If Santorum had gotten out 4 months ago, Newt Gingrich, A REAL CONSERVATIVE would have won the nomination.

Let us know when the crack wears off. Newt was/is/will always be un/nominatable/electable.

SO FAKE all this “congratulations” sh*t, after months and months of tearing him and Gingrich down to now say nice things about Senator Santorum. I really don’t believe it, nor do I respect this!

Given their similarities on so many issues, we don’t know yet whether Mitt will be better, different or the same.[than Obama]

Personally, if Romney is the nominee, I will *again* be skipping the POTUS box and playing the down ticket.

America chose this path we’re on and now they’re gonna have to eat it.

I gave money to both Newt and Rick.

However, it appears that I will be voting for Mitt in November.

Sarah Palin WILL NEVER run around the country supporting Willard the liberal. She’ll take a low profile during the campaign. She despises the man. Willard talked about her like she was a dog in 2008. Saran Palin IS NOT A HYPOCRITE.

I'll write in Sarah Palin.

Go ahead and write in Sarah Palin or anyone else. A write-in won't get Obama out of the White House, all it will do is keep him in there. If that's okay with you then you may as well put an "Obama 2012" bumper sticker on your car. If your reply is "there's no difference between Obama and Romney" then stay home and we'll see how America fares with Obama's second term.

Agree

There is not enough time to launch a Tea Party candidate. I will hold my nose again and vote for MR and really hate it. But then again I would vote for a lump of dried dog crap over BHO. It is time to start laying the ground work and foundation for a legitimate alternative conservative party. I will be done with the GOP after the Nov election.

If Mitt Romney would but pick up PART of the mantle that Santorum has been forced to lay aside, it would do much to boost his own campaign, which by now has pretty much shifted to running against whatever record the Current Occupant in the White Hut has managed to compile.

Romneycare versus Obamacare has taken on a whole new dimension. One thing that Romney COULD do, that would provide a broad differentiation, is to emphasize that the Massachuetts plan was confined to only one state, and those who did not wish to participate could move to a neighboring state, or across the country, for that matter. No such option is available to the nation-wide, one-sized-fits-all, and badly misnamed “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”. That version is a revenue collection scheme, and assures nobody of either any protection from abuses within the system, nor is it affordable in terms of what the unfunded demands will make on the country as a whole in coming years.

When the “safety net” becomes a hammock for the unwilling and unambitious, then it, too, shall fail.

Taking care of one’s health never was, is not, and can never be the duty of any government, or for that matter, any third party anywhere. YOUR health, and seeking the means to maintain it, remain entirely a personal responsibility.

Bitching does not become you. Newt has been out of the race for 6 weeks. He’s been making nice to ROmney now for at least a week.

You live inside your own head, totally disconnected from reality.

Enjoy your Romney-shit-sandwich. Because you bought and paid for it.

have cooperated with his evil.

Why do you think that voting for RINOmney will get Obama out of the White House? They haven't even begun to unload on him yet.

Mitt Romney proving once again that he is completely capable of talking outside of both sides of his mouth. I'm not swayed one iota. Taking Santorum out of the equation does not make Romney a shred more "conservative" nor worthy of a conservative's vote. Time to watch Gingrich for a bit to see if anything happens there, and perhaps to make a write-in decision.

Noe Romney will face the “huge coffer and negative ads” of Obama’s minions which includes the MSM. It ain’t gonna be pretty and we’ll likely end up with Obama and a Democrat congress. In short, the end of America. Even saying that, I doubt I’ll do anything to help Romney, even having a great deal of mental anguish about possibly voting for him. The way I feel now, voting for Romney will be a hopeless gesture.

Now the liberal Willard Romney becomes the GOPs sacrificial lamb in Nov.

Text from my son 45 minutes ago: "Wow what a surprise. The fix has been in for MONTHS. Romney is nothing more than a fall guy. He should change his name to Colt Seevers 'the unknown stuntman'."

Congratulations to the Whig RINO Establishment party for proving how obsolete it has become. Well Done!

Are you seriously this naive? Seriously? Palin is a major player in the Republican party. It is a PARTY with agreed upon goals - defeating Democrats chief among them. Aside from people who don't really belong in the party in the first place, such as Ron Paul (Libertarian), they are pretty much ALL going to rally around Willard. Yes, Palin WILL run around the country campaigning for Mitt. She will likely also have a choice convention spot in which she will sing his praises as well.
