President Barack Obama is coming to the Motor City for a $1 million pizza party being thrown for him compliments of Denise Ilitch, daughter of Little Caesars founders Mike and Marian Ilitch. Ilitch is opening her home April 18 for the fundraiser where movers and shakers are being asked to pony up thousands to add to his re-election coffer while getting a chance to rub shoulders with the most powerful man on the planet. Im honored to have been asked, by the Obama campaign to host, Ilitch said of the event she and husband, Jim Scalici, will hold at their Metro Detroit home. She made the comments on Michigan Matters when asked about media reports.
When asked what she planned to serve, she said: Pizza! But, well be serving it on sterling silver plates!
The price of admission isnt for those on a budget. $40,000 buys access to the cocktail reception, formal photo with Obama and dinner. $10,000 buys dinner and a photo.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I can’t stand BHO but I don’t go so far as having him being forced to eat Little Caesar’s Pizza.
... scratching Little Caesar’s pizza off the fast-food list ...
Just another reason to just say “no no” to “pizza pizza”.
Little Caesar is throwing a party for Big Caesar.
Isn’t that special.
Yep
The event is the latest twist in the political relationship between Obama and Ilitch, eldest of the Ilitchs seven children. Mike and Marian also own the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Fox Theatre, Motor City Casino and more. The family is among the wealthiest and most influential in Michigan with an empire worth billions.
Nice to know these good people and what they control in the self-destructing motor city.
Have never tried Little Caesar’s pizza and now I never will. Could switch car insurance to Progressive - nope, ain’t happening. That Coca Cola product I’ve been buying for the past few years? Off my shopping list. It’s going to have to be Gatorade from now on. The power of choice is a wonderful thing, n’est pas?
No more “Pizza, pizza” for us.
Those hot’n ready pizzas were nothing but $5 hunks of bread anyhow. But we won’t be buying from them anymore.
Well at least he won’t be getting good Detroit pizza like Buddy’s, Shields, or Cloverleaf.
I've no problem with this. A rich person can spend their money ANY way they want. As long as this isn't taxpayer financed . .... have at it.
Mooch likes pizza, so I'm sure we'll hear another lecture of "Do as I say, not as I do".
Detroit being a ghost town I bet most of the Loony Tune mob will be from out of town.
Will they have lobster pizza?.
Damn,...now I have to boycott another product I never use.
We (too) frequently pick up a Little Cesar’s pizza on the way home from work. It’s fast, hot, and filling. But no more. It does nothing but make me fat, and I won’t put a dime in the pockets of someone who wants to cram Obama down our throats for another 4 years.
Nice to know these good people and what they control in the self-destructing motor city.
When Obama steps in and renovates their city,
they will be trillionaires.
Hmmm... Something appropriate about that.
>> Damn,...now I have to boycott another product I never use.
LOL...
I never like Little Ceasar’s pizza.
What is it with Michigan and crappy pizza.
Tell me if I’m wrong but I believe in addition to LC, Dominoes and Papa John’s got their start there.
Crappy pizza for a crappy pResident.
“Its going to have to be Gatorade from now on.”
Choose something else, Gatorade is probably the most unhealthy thing on the planet to drink regularly.
Something you can look at if you are the type that must have sugary drinks, there are a lot of sodas you can make at home. It takes more work of course, but if you have kids it can be fun. I don’t drink much sugary drinks, but I do make birch beer, and sarsparilla. I buy the mixes at the brewery supply store (I brew my own beer too), and require no special equipment other than bottles.
There are also a lot of soda fountain kits you can buy which sell mixes to make almost anything.

Democrats, always for the little guy.
The Little Caesars Veterans Program provides honorably discharged and disabled service members with an outstanding opportunity to utilize their leadership skills to run a business. The significant credits and discounts, as well as special financing options, make this truly unique program a valuable and excellent option for our service members who transition to the civilian workforce each year - especially our wounded warriors who have sacrificed greatly for our Corps and country. I know my local LC is vetran-owned/run.
$40,000 a ticket just to be in his presence? So it is the 1%ers party.....
With Barack's efforts to reduce the impact of American Exceptionalism, and his efforts to eliminate our nuclear arsenal and his COMPLETE unwillingness to ever use it, it's hard to call Barack Obama the MOST POWERFUL MAN ON THE PLANET.
The Pope has more authority than Barack does.
I didn’t know Little Caesar’s is considered pizza......
Great...I’ve been a Tigers fan for 37 years and now I have to stop. And they just swept the Red Sox. Maybe Ilitch will sell the team.
**compliments of Denise Ilitch, daughter of Little Caesars founders Mike and Marian Ilitch**
No more Little Caesars’ pizza for us!
Hey, I am a White Sox fan and Obama loves them. Bleh.
You know what, I would not let the politics of the owner ruin your love of a great baseball franchise. The Tigers and White Sox were there before Obama, and they will be there long after the Resident and these respective team owners are long gone.
Yep.
Any relation to Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov?
Really gives the lie to the Democrats’ mantra, “The rich give to the Republicans.”
I forgot to add my sarcasm tag. Can’t give up that easy! ; )

Its enough to make you Illitch.
so is that warmed over cardboard they call pizza.
Especially this year. Detroit looks unbeatable.
(My W. Sox are look...um.. bleh)
I’ve never had a Little Caesar’s pizza and never intend to have one.
One million dollars worth of Little Squeezers? I think I’m gonna be sick.
Oh my...Cloverleaf. You just brought back years of childhood memories with that one word.
Little Caesars on the list.. Detroit Tigers, hope your season sucks! Time for another email it seems!
Denise Ilitch is a Detroit-area businessperson, lawyer, and member of the Board of Regents of the University of Michigan. Ilitch was rumored to be a Democratic Party candidate for Governor of Michigan in 2010, after having met with the White House in early January to discuss a potential run, though she later declined to run.
She is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Detroit Branch NAACP, the ACLU of Michigan advisory committee

co-founder of Little Caesars Pizza;
co-owner of the Detroit Red Wings; and
sole owner of Detroit’s $1.1 billion MotorCity Casino

Interesting info ... thanks for the heads up.
Hot and Ready. You don't have to call and order, just stop in and pick it up. Super convenient innovation. Way faster than the drive-thru at McD's or Taco Bell even. $14.95 for two large pizza's, crazy bread and a 2 Liter. Cheapest way to eat out for a family of 6 and usually have leftovers. It's not going to win any best pizza awards, but it's not terrible and can't beat the price.
Ilitch is a self made billionaire and true story of success. Sad to see them supporting Obama, but hard to see through if this is typical corporate pragmatism, 2nd generation white guilt, or something with idealistic intent. The cynical side of me says that nobody becomes a billionaire without government help, so maybe this move reveals some quid pro quo.
They’re not that great.
