Would a Romney-Gingrich ticket be acceptable to Jim Robinson & other conservative Freepers? [NO!! ]
[Not only no, but HELL NO!! NEVER AGAIN!! - Jim] | April 9, 2012 | Ralph Mitchell

Posted on 04/09/2012 8:06:05 AM PDT by mitchell001

Since Newt Gingrich is talking teamwork and cooperation with Romney & Santorum to defeat Obama, would Jim Robinson and conservative Free Republic people join me in accepting and pushing a Romney-Gingrich ticket. Frankly, I bristle at the mention of Romney-Nicki Halley or other RINO tickets. Personally, Romney would be very smart to put conservatives at the table of his campaign and administration team. Newt is so passionate about Big Ideas, reform and he knows how to push the levers of Congress. Mitt Romney can be a good president, however, with Newt on his team, Mitt Romney could be a great president. We need Gingrich's brains and political skill on the ticket and in the administration.

I think a Romney/Gingrich ticket makes about as much sense as an Obama/Clinton ticket.

No Romney, no way.

I'll be voting Libertarian this year. I don't agree with everything the LP’s support, but at least they support limited government.

The only difference between Romney and Obama is the color of their skin

When it comes the time of Romney v. Obama, will any news supportive of Romney still be unwanted in FR? Or the website will still take position of anti Romney site, with the risk of being one of the conservative sources that Obama campaign cite when they need justification to attack Romney on some issues?

Perhaps, if either one of them were in the least conservative. What's more important is how acceptable the ticket would be to the majority of voters. I'd vote for the devil to get the current kenyan marxist and his first wookie out of the white house.

I can guarantee you that Mitt will eventually pass on. Old age, if nothing else. We all have terminal illnesses.

Even if John the Baptist is his running mate, Romney is still a liberal abortion-lover, homosexual-panderer, Planned Parenthood fundraiser, Bible-denying cult member.

I was almost going to post what if it's Romney-Palin? Of course I doubt he'd choose her and she doesn't seem a fan of his...plus most people would probably say "still no, unless the ticket were reversed in order".

PS There actually IS a site. here

I would take Romney on the bottom of the ticket, but not on the top.

That said, pending sudden unexpected death, Romney is the GOP nominee, as the GOP leadership wants and as the MSM wants.

So I will hold my nose and vote against Obama by voting for Romney, with disgust and aggravation. It will be a very interesting race as regards the anti-Mormon vote. Many will vote against Obama because “It’s the economy, stupid.” But many evangelical Christians will vote 3rd party rather than vote Romney. If I understand correctly, they would rather die an unspeakably painful and sinister death than cast a vote for a Mormon.

If it's Mitt... I'll vote for him..if Rick pulls out the nomination...I'll be thrilled!! I'll be there helping get Rick elected!!

Wow! It took 21 posts before the "Oooga Booga Booga" tactic showed up!

If all you've got is "Vote for Romney! Vote for Romney! If you don't you're voting for Obama!", then you've lost the argument, especially here on FreeRepublic.

If Romney is on the ballot I am not voting. I am done.

I am not a Republican, I am a Conservative. I also live in CA and know that any vote I make is purely symbolic. I am done.

I don't want to hear any crap about moving to some place my vote will count. CA is coming to a town near you, and my weather is a lot better here. I am done.

I had one horse in this race, willing to do anything to get her elected, and they destroyed her before she could get to the gate. I would have fought for her to try and make my vote not symbolic. In 2008, I voted for the girl. Now, I'm done.

Well, all seems reasonable and logical.. .but remains unlikely; IMHO.

RNC; OTOH. . .seems determined to shoot itself in remaining 'foot'. They have yet to float a 'likely winner'; certainly Nikki Haley - as accomplished, as she is - is not a 'name recognized' vote getter; by any stretch.

Have no confidence; whatsoever; that these same who promoted Mitt; lo these many years; have the sense to come up with an acceptable running mate for Romney.

Up for surprises; however.

A ticket with Romney at the top guarantees Barry Sotero’s re-election.

The GOP will have lost the conservative vote. (period)

For all the hoopla about VP choice, the VP is meaningless unless the POTUS dies. Having the “right” VP means nothing. I care little that Gingrich could be #2 so long as Romney - aka Obama Lite - is in charge. A step in the right direction means nothing given a journey in the wrong direction.

Romney would only get my vote because he’s not out to become dictator like the Obama, and nobody else could get enough votes to ensure we remain a republic.
