D.C. Dem to Introduce Bill to Change Eating Habits in ‘Workplace and Community Settings’

The representative for a district with higher-than-average rates of obesity-related conditions will return from recess a week from Monday to reintroduce her Lifelong Improvements in Food and Exercise (LIFE) Act.

D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D) will say on the House floor, according to prepared remarks, that her bill is intended to tackle a health problem “that cannot be remedied through the health care system alone.”

The LIFE Act would give the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention $25 million “for a coordinated national effort to reverse increasingly sedentary lifestyles and diets that are high in fat and sugar.”

That would be allocated to “train health professionals to recognize the signs of obesity early and to educate people concerning healthy lifestyles, such as proper nutrition and regular exercise; conduct public education campaigns about how to recognize and address overweight and obesity; and develop intervention strategies to be used in everyday life, such as in the workplace and in community settings.”

“The legislation is the minimum necessary to address our most important health care crisis,” Norton will say.

The bill had no co-sponsors in the 111th Congress and died in a health subcommittee. The renewed effort comes after a “60 Minutes” report this past weekend calling sugar a toxin and calls from some health officials to tax and regulate sugar like tobacco.

“I urge my colleagues to join me in support of this important legislation to mobilize the country now, before entirely preventable health conditions, which often begin in childhood, overwhelm the nation’s health care system,” Norton will say.

everyone would be allowed a certain allotment of certain foods

A leftist mental disorder starts in childhood and is commonly triggered by birthday and Christmas trauma, primarily envy over the visible size of someone's slice of birthday cake or Christmas gifts. "No fair! His cake is bigger than mine!" Leftism develops from a sense of being on the left side of the bell curve in life. The nature of envy is not to acquire what someone else has but to destroy what they have. There is nothing leftists won't envy: money, cars, house, family, health, beauty, brains, fitness, friends, and in this case: food. If a leftist must be on a salt or calorie restricted diet, everyone must be. It all goes back to "No fair! His cake is bigger than mine!" They are convinced true happiness is only possible if everyone is exactly the same in every possible respect.

The antidote to leftist envy is mockery. Make fun of leftists and their envy at every opportunity. Counter a leftist's painful feelings of envy by inducing in them equally painful feelings of shame.

The key to our “liberal”, “progressive”, leftist friends: they have to control everything. I truly believe it. Freedom and your right to choose is the thing they dislike the most.

One of the first thing a cult will do with a new member is control their food, especially meat.

Meat eaters have a tendency to think for themselves, and when it's all about control you can't have people thinking for themselves.

Cults will reward followers that fall into line with food.

When you control the food, people are forced to follow.

It's all about absolute power hiding behind “we're doing it for your own good”.

The LIFE Act would give the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention $25 million

“train health professionals to recognize the signs of obesity early”

“conduct public education campaigns about how to recognize and address overweight and obesity”

Is it really that difficult to recognize obesity early and then hand out printouts for exercise and diet?

If the liberal justification for this nonsense is the Commerce Clause, then we DEFINITELY need to discuss a new Amendment to the Constitution. Soon.

to reintroduce her Lifelong Improvements in Food and Exercise (LIFE) Act

This is a perfect example of what is so wrong with our government, and more specifically, with our politicians.

Our government is populated with self-important morons who desperately want to get a new law created that has their name on it, and/or has some stupid, catchy acronym like "LIFE".

The sheer number of inane, pointless, and egragious laws passed by the collection of egotistical imbeciles in government is incredible.

There must be no problems in the economy, and in the international arena. Rapes and murders must be nearly non-existent. Taxes must be very low. There must be no looming fiscal crisises, and Social Security must be safe for 1000 years.

Because, if this is what this loon is worried about, the above BETTER be true.

D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton

Guys: SHE'S NOT EVEN A REAL MEMBER OF CONGRESS!

She's the "delegate" from DC! What place does she have introducing legislation for the States? She doesn't even live in a state!

This right here is the reason the damn communists want to make DC a state: it is FULL of communists just like "Bull" Holmes-Norton.

“train health professionals to recognize the signs of obesity early...”

How much training do you need to identify the early stages of “Dunlap Syndrome?”

Of course, we all know that “Dunlap” is the condition where your belly dun lapped over your belt buckle.
