We are not consuming large amounts of sugar.... We are consuming large amounts of corn syrup. If you check packages that you buy, corn syrup is in everything. We did not have an obese or diabetic problem until they switched over to cheaper corn syrup rather than cane sugar.

Yes, that and they add sugar to canned vegetables, and even to some FROZEN vegetables!

I enjoy drinking coca-cola, but only buy the Mexican variety that is made with cane sugar. Other countries aren't as stupid as ours when it comes to shoveling artificial crap into our food.

Canned fruit even tasted like fruit. As much as I can I avoid corn syrup opting for products made with Splenda instead. Still not quite the taste of sugar but much closer to it than corn syrup.
