He can’t be that stupid. This has to be a planned concerted effort to destroy the US economy, and it’s working.

I protest the part of my taxes being used to transport Michelle Obama’s fat ass to Las Vegas.

End taxes on oil, and wind, and solar. That should solve the problem.

Because we need more home runs like Solyndra.

Interesting that Zero uses the phrase "double down" while Moosechelle and the girls are spending the weekend in Las Vegas...

We could triple investments if we taxed GE and GM.

I force myself to watch his speeches, even though I know it will make me furious.

I did. And it did.

It’s too late to pretend you’re on the side of the average American, Skippy.

We’re not buying it.

Wind and solar are not taxed, they are massively subsidized.

Liberals equate direct tax payer funded subsidies for “green” power with tax breaks for oil companies.

If they would end the subsidies and truly let wind and solar power fail in the free market I would go along with ending tax breaks for oil companies. Just make it clear Obama is mainly responsible for the $10 gas people are buying at the pump.

Never been more promising. Corrupt donors “promise” Obama money for his campaign. Obama “promises” to let them steal taxpayer money through phony energy schemes.

For the last time, you lying Kenyan bastard:

Letting a company (or a person) keep more of what they have earned is not a "giveaway". It's not the government's money to "give away".

I hear ya on beef prices. Chuck roast is 5 bucks a pound in my area. I’m fortunate enough to be able to pay those prices if I choose to, but I know families who probably *can’t* pay that, at least not on a regular basis.

Never thought I’d see an America where pot roast was moving into luxury food price levels.

All government subsidies should be ended, to ALL businesses. The government shouldn’t be in the business of giving money to ANYBODY. Problem for the lefties is that Oil companies by and large do get subsidies, they get tax breaks, which is keeping the money they make, before the government takes it away.

understanding that is the basic difference between a conservative and a liberal. Conservatives understand the concept of private property, while liberals understand that EVERYTHING ultimately belongs to the government; as long as it is the government they approve of.

"Instead of taxpayer giveaways to an industry that's never been more profitable

The "taxpayer giveaways" are business tax deductions such as research and development, exploration costs, etc.
These are the same deductions which are available to all businesses. Why doesn't someone ask Obama to specify which "giveaways" he keeps talking about?

The only “tax break” that I’m aware of is the depletion allowance. Is he going to take that away from all mineral extraction businesses?

First - Most fossil fuel “subsidies” are “tax breaks” - meaning NOT money directly transferred from the government to the fossil fuel industry, just a little less money taken from the fossil fuel industry. However, most subsidies for wind and solar do not come out of “tax breaks” as much as they do direct subsidies - payments - from government to wind and solar energy developers.

Second - If considerd on a per unit of energy delivered, solar and wind energy development is already subsidized at a vastly greater level than fossil fuels.

Thirdf - If considered on a per unit of energy delivered, if fossil fuels were subsidiezed as greatly as solar and wind the retail price of gasoline could be greatly lowered.

Fourth - When solar and wind energy development, based on a per unit of energy delivered, are subsidized as little as are fossil fuels now, and can still find a market for their goods, then we can talk again about killing all such subsidies.

The Oil Industry averages about 6% profit margin or 24 cents on a $4 gallon of gas. The average state and local tax on that same gallon is 48 cents. So government - which takes no risks, buys no capital equipment to find, retrieve, refine, market, or distribute a product is making twice as much as the company that actually created jobs and provide the product.

And Obama says this is unfair? He may have a point (other than the one on top of his head).

What a dumbasss...

IF clean energy technologies were profitable, there'd be no shortage of private funds to invest in them. However, NO clean energy is economically viable without massive raping of taxpayers, and handouts to "Investors" who just happen to be cronies and donors of The Messiah and the Progressive asses that assist him.

“If they would end the subsidies and truly let wind and solar power fail in the free market I would go along with ending tax breaks for oil companies.”

The point of my quip was that we should leave it up to the free market to determine what is viable, and what isn’t. Obama’s oil subsidies bill just went down, and now they should reverse their thinking, and quit taxing America’s energy.

“Never thought I’d see an America where pot roast was moving into luxury food price levels.”

Rising food and energy prices is a winning platform for the GOP if it will seize the inflation issue. Everyday the Congressional leaders and presidential candidates should be beating the drum. Every month when the government inflation statistics come out with food and energy omitted, the GOP should make a spectacle on the steps of the Capitol in Washington announcing the real inflation rate including food and energy.

Unfortunately, the GOP seems uninterested in even attempting to counter the endless propaganda campaign of the administration and mainstream media. Perhaps Boehner, McConnell, McCain, Graham, and the rest of the GOP leaders in Congress are too busy at fundraisers and lobbyist lunches.

Ah the old tax breaks ploy. Please define. I think this applies to credits for foreign taxes paid being treated as a business expense. Applies to all industries.
