I`m amazed at how many prominent people will connect themselves to a candidate because of perceived “electability,” when that candidate in reality has absolutely no chance of being elected.

While I sometimes think that, Romney has consistently done the best in polls against Obama.

The reality is that it's always been that way. You see, the "prominent" people consider themselves to be members of a 'club' (i.e. Party), and as such, at some point they begin to weigh the significance of the situation in terms of what it means to their 'club', ergo... why they decide to join in one direction, regardless of the 'individual'.
