Rubio endorses Romney, saying he's 'earned' it

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., endorsed Mitt Romney for president Wednesday night on Fox News' "Hannity," saying Romney offers "a very clear alternative" to President Obama's vision for the future of the country.

Rubio, a young, first-termer who has been discussed as a possible vice presidential candidate, criticized talk of a fight for the Republican nomination on the convention floor, a possibility that is keeping alive the campaigns of Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.

"I think that's a recipe for delivering four more years of Barack Obama," Rubio told Fox News' Sean Hannity.

Romney has "earned this nomination," Rubio said, though he again shot down questions about whether he would accept any offers of a spot on the ticket.

“I never got on the Rubio bandwagon.”

Me neither. Right after Scott Brown, everyone of these “new konservatives” are suspect RINOS.

As much as I hate to admit it, I think I gave Conservatives too much credit for having more common sense. Instead, all I see is a herd of mindnumbed cats playing with catnip. If we couldn’t defeat romney KNOWING what a shapeshifter he is, or santorum who started out whining which has now turned into prolonged howls of victimhood, even as he moved ahead using the backdoor of romney money and romney’s assassination of Gingrich, without which his candidacy would have been long over, shame on us.
We only have this chance to change anything at all. Never give up and never give in.

Not that I give a smelly Obama what you think, but you’re getting to be a pest. I’ve already told you I support Newt, which you insist on interpreting as being pro-Romney. Please exclude me from any more of your obsessive rants.

Exactly...on to convention! .....That will be where the rubber hits the road...

Hey Joe....Just heard a pundit saying that Newt's been down twice now and gotten back up, always when everybody thinks he's done with his staff and out of money. They said not a good idea to think Newt's done.....or underestimate him....with Newt things are not always what they might appear! The word is "Watch" do not assume he's done because the media etc. are saying so.....they said so before..twice no less.......I Agree!

RE "Newt's been down twice now and gotten back up..." Yeppers, and remember, the third time's the charm!!!

On to Tampa... hang tight - we can do this!

“Rubio would be the smartest choice to get the hispanic vote”

One name that’s been mentioned in that regard (who may also get the female vote) is Susana Martinez, Governor of New Mexico.

You could start an Ignore List like I have. I have 2 people on my regular ignore, and 1 person on my super ignore. My life here is much happier and more meaningful since my Ignore List.

Romney hasn't earned anything yet although it does appear I'll be voting independent party this year. Rubio and the GOP quite possibly have lost my vote.

If Romney is the nominee, it will be either third-party or write in for me as POTUS.

I'll never vote for the Father of Gay Marriage.

I appreciate the suggestion. I take it that it’s something you unofficially do (vs. something I could actually select w/in FR)? I would like to be able to just avoid receiving messages from a few specific morons, but I suppose the obvious alternative is to simply refuse to open them. Live and learn...

“I know people here (not you, from what I can tell) are saying they’ll forget the presidency and concentrate on expanding our House majority and gaining back the Senate, but this guy doesn’t even care about that. He does whatever the hell he wants.”

You’re right, and as for BHO disregarding Congress, the courts, Constitution, etc., we ain’t seen NUTHIN’ yet if we hand him a second term. More SC justices, more commie (or Muslim) Czars, more even scarier Executive Orders, deadly foreign policy and things we haven’t even imagined yet.

I’m alarmed at the number of people (even here on FR) who are in disbelief or denial about how truly dangerous BHO is - so much so that he’ll kill this republic (and large numbers of US along with it) if he’s not ousted in November. And frankly, if his numbers look bad as it nears, I’ll be holding my breath that he doesn’t create a “national emergency” to exercise his latest EO, declare martial law, take control of everything and everyone, and suspend all elections.

This election (if we’re allowed to have it) may very well be a close one, and given as great an amount of voter fraud as the Left can perpetrate, we’ll need all the anti-BHO votes possible. We can’t afford for anyone to stay home in protest. Those who think that ANY of the R’s would be as bad as B. Hussein are just dead wrong.

Yes, it’ll take time to reform (or replace) the GOP and rebuild the republic, not to mention undo the damage BHO has wrought, but if we don’t do ALL we can to replace him and do it successfully - then our time just ran out.

Never give up and never give in.

You're right - we have this chance. When I think about strategy, I always go to the worst case scenario first, and work back from that, to see if I could live with it, if it indeed did occur.

As far as I'm concerned, the wcs here is we get there, Newt makes it in, gets stymied and blocked by the powers that be at every turn, and romney gets the nomination, and to rub salt in the wound, santorum is the VP.

I have decided I can actually live with that because we will have made a mess of their well-laid plans, we will have come up on the republican porch, and people like us, the rabble, aren't allowed on the porch, we can sit nearby, just not on the porch.

So we make some noise, bring some pain, maybe even embarrass a few of the more pompous ones. Make lots of new friends, form alliances, support Romney as a place keeper and on January 23, 2013, start planning a genuine conservative primary challenge to incumbent romney - with all the new angry friends we made in Tampa... and otherwise.

that's my this-I-can-live-with plan... and I can live with it.

On to Tampa - hang tight - we can do this!

WAY too many don’t.

It's more a state of mind... and as soon as I see one of my ignorees, I just scroll by very quickly and get past them...and should they post or mail me, I don't respond.

there is a semi-official thing you can do - I had a guy dogging me one time - and a couple times he was so nasty that he scared me, and a few freepers mailed me and said I could publicly post and ask him not to bother me or post to me, and if he did after that request, I could report him to the mods.

but I didn't, because I didn't want to cause trouble for the guy, and it worked out well because now we at least wave and say hi, when we see each others on the board. we even have a little friendship going now... a little one :)

We all have our dream scenarios. Mine is that Newt prevents Romney from gathering the necessary delegates. Newt also knows that he hasn’t the appeal to get the nomination so he pushes for Sarah Palin to become the nominee. The base wants her and I believe Newt despises Romney enough that he would relish the role of “kingmaker”. Unlikely? Sure, but a really fun thought.

I like that, and have never thought about that specifically. sarah out front, and Newt vp, bringing all the gravitas one ticket could ever need.

Prepare to meet the lightning!
