Above is the iconic picture we’ve been become accustomed to seeing everywhere in the media, used to represent the recent Trayvon Martin shooting in Sanford, Florida. From everything the public has been told, Trayvon Martin was a fresh-faced, innocent looking teenager and the visage of the man who shot him, George Zimmerman, is right out of a booking photo.
The media narrative being sold is quite clear, Trayvon Martin is the innocent victim here and George Zimmerman is a horrible bigot who attacked the young man for doing nothing more than buying skittles while being black. Even Barack Obama seems to accept the fresh-faced innocence of Trayvon, stating, “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon.” More on that later.
It’s becoming more and more clear however that the innocent appearance the mainstream media is so desperate to apply to Trayvon isn’t at all accurate. The picture we’re used to seeing to represent Trayvon Martin appears to be a far cry from how he actually looked once he was a few years older.

I haven’t been following this very closely this weekend so I apologize if I posted anything that was not him.
Officer Ayala notes in his report that he was dispatched on 2/26/2012 at approximately 1917 hours. He notes that he finished the report on 2/27/2012 at approximately 0329 hours.
Good catch as he was detained. He was likely later interviewed (Interrogated), and eventually released without being formally arrested. His statements to the police, if any, are unknown at this time. He does currently have an attorney, which is a real smart move by anybody in his position.
The prosecutors and/or SPD either did not have enough probable cause to arrest, or did not think they could get a conviction at that time. That may or may not change as the state of Florida's investigating as well.
Sometimes photos get reversed regarding L/R. At least in the old days, now I don’t know.

Not necessarily. If I hit someone dead on in the jaw, the other person can drop and hit the back of his head on the ground. Not uncommon.

That is a very GOOD point too. This is still an open investigation. While the DA initially declined to file charges, if new and credible evidence or information is brought out which is adverse to Zimmerman's account, charges can still be filed.
I understand your reaction, but don’t you realize how naive you’ve been? This is what the left does; it lies any time it thinks it can get away with it. No one really holds the left accountable, certainly not the MSM, and the left’s dishonest smears have made cowards of most. We won’t start heading in the right direction until people are willing to speak the truth forcefully to the liars, their useful idiots, and the beneficiaries of those lies.

I listened to the voice mail and his 911 call, and I didn't detect any foreign accent. Certainly not a Spanish accent. He grew up in Virginia, so it's hardly surprising he doesn't have a foreign accent.
Hispanics will sympathize as will the Florida Jewish voters.
Zimmerman is Catholic. He used to be an altar boy back in Virginia.
By 0300 on 2/27/2012 Martin would have been dead close to 8 hours.

Sites like Free Republic can go a long way to helping people see things a little more clearly.
I hope you realize I wasn’t intending to be harsh. What I described is an epiphany we all have at some point or other. Perhaps because I have spent more time than most around leftists (was one once - of a sort) it happened for me earlier than for most.
The objective of the left is a totalitarian “welfare” state. They will stop at absolutely nothing - unless they think they can’t get away with it. I’m afraid that there is going to be major “civil unrest” within the next decade. If that happens, we can give them no quarter.
Facts of the actual 7 minute encounter are few, and are unlikely to grow, but the character issues which drove these two individuals to the face to face confrontation are worth exploring, I say.
The information I have read is that Zimmerman’s mother is from Peru, and Zimmerman speaks spanish. His father describes him as multi-racial, which cannot mean “white” in the politically correct atmosphere. Zimmerman can be correctly be described as “hispanic” or “latino.” His being Catholic would then be no surprise.

Dead on! Zimmerman gave a statement to the police, and the police haven't released that statement. Only Zimmerman, his lawyer, and the police know what Zimmerman's statement was. The rest of us can only speculate on what was said and who threw the first blow.
Maybe he was out there that late to sell drugs or rob an all night gas station. Maybe, he was conspiring to get another gang tattoo or more gold teeth.
These are only things that Trayvon would have known and Zimmerman as a trained officer of the neighborhood watch would have observed.
True, he could have been stalking the streets at 3 in the morning, even on 2/26. But by 7:30 pm that evening he was deceased.
The Left ‘Progressives’ jackson-lee/ellison and various names have even used the floor of the HOUSE not to mention other media and dot orgs, to bring attention to this and MOBILIZE. Using this tension as to promote (just-u-watch) their agenda further as we are being demonized. We just aren’t as good in getting action. We don’t even have a PW Caucus.

I don’t see anything about going to the store in the police report you linked. I think there are questions about this store trip, the first of which is what store? There are a lot of fragmentary statements floating around, such as that he was getting snacks for his younger brother, and of course that this was at halftime of the NBA All Star game. Then we see it stated that the father was not alarmed when he did not return all night. So lots of questions.
Also though, being in between the buildings seems to indicate that Z followed him in there. This does not contradict the statement attributed to him that he didn’t see him and turned to leave but it would seem to be a form of pursuit. ( The building locations are easily seen in Google Maps in the Retreat at Twin Lakes complex. )
If anyone saw my posts at the first FR featured story, I listed several forensic tests needed to be done regarding gun powder/shot residue on clothing, marks on knuckles, etc.
And then I said, “You do it by the book and your results will stand good in court” (paraphrased).
The comments about when an officer uses the Miranda rights is relevant too. A good catch.
Check the media from all sides and see if they have addressed these issues. I’m willing to bet that 98% of them either don’t know about forensics (I thought everyone watched CSI); don’t care to inquiry; or are afraid that the results (if known at present), will kill their biased reporting.
I learned about collecting evidence in a year-long course I took in both “Criminal Investigations” and “Criminal Law, Evidence and Procedure”. Basic investigative steps you take at a crime scene.
Also, collecting all the spent cartridges you can find; process the gun and clothing; residue powder check on hands as well as skin/DNA evidence under the nails, on the surface, etc.
You do it by the book.

I guess they think it is illegal to walk in your own neighborhood and now want the guy arrested for defending himself after begin assulted ?
