The Talk Shows
March 25th, 2012
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis.; White House adviser David Plouffe.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Plouffe; Gov. Brian Schweitzer, D-Mont.; former Gov. Haley Barbour, R-Miss.; Ben Jealous, president and CEO of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum; Rep. Paul Ryan; Sen. Chuck U. Schumer, D-N.Y.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Plouffe; Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Plouffe; Sen. Linda Graham, R-S.C.; Gov. Rick Scott, R-Fla.
LOLOLOL, ABC with Plouffe - he just said
Romeny is the GODFATHER OF OUR HEALTH CARE PLAN. There it is.
Gregory uses that “grind” word again referring to Romney’s campaign.
Thanks for that comment, Bushbacker. I think we’ll win the presidency also. There are far more liberals (percentage wise) in the media than there are in the general population, thank God.
But it’s nice to see an optimistic comment around here for a chance (I don’t mean on this thread...I mean on FR in general.)
Yep, and I’ll say it again, Zimmerman is given no credit for being brave enough to go out and do the confronting of people who could be bad actors in their neighborhood. On the other hand, there are people that will sit home and let crime happen as long as it don’t effect them.
Rick doesn’t have to catch him in delegate count. He has to stop him from getting the automatic number. An open convention could elect anybody but most likely one of the two.
Pray for America
I have my doubts as well, mathluv. The obama campaign has layed it out there this morning.
Their words:
Romney is the father of the individual mandate. He is the Godfather of the healthcare plan.
Agree about Romney. I think he will support repeal, especially if we get both houses, but I don’t think he will be passionate about it because I don’t think he believes it like Santorum and Gingrich do.
I’m reconciled to voting for him if it comes to that and I am counting on the people and the congress to keep him in line.
What a shame.
Steyn writes today that we're not yet Greece, but we are running a very close 2nd, and worse in many respects, much worse. Collapse is coming soon, unless this is turned around in November. I'm hoping that my 3rd or 4th choice, Mitt Romney, has the financial experience to see it crumbling down around US.
Shale, oil, and nat gas can help reverse this financial armagadean. There is hope.
Thanks for the info, altura. Maybe I’ll watch them. It is likely improbable that Santorum can pull this out.....but you never know.
Thanks Rod, he has completely given up on the White male vote and he believes this will fire up the Black vote and perhaps the women’s vote. He thinks they are gullible enough and have more White Guilt to vote for him again.
Yes, that has become my hope also.
At least we’d have a chance in a brokered convention.
A chance is better than no chance, right?
BTW, thanks for your column.
Can anyone believe this Trayvon thing has assumed the gigantic proportions that is has. It seems to be all anyone is talking about and everyone knows exactly what happened and why, when in truth nobody knows exactly what happened and why.
It opened of a can of black hate that is unbelievable... a bounty on Zimmerman, a witness scared out of his mind and a police department vilified for following the law.
It’s almost unbelievable. The nasty underbelly sticking up for all to see.
Paul Ryan on Fox talking about the Food Stamp program - it’s blown up 400% (since when?). The question for Congress is: Is it your job to help make poverty easier to live with or help people get out of poverty?
Thanks for thread AB. Buckeyes are in Final Four. Go Bucks!
It is Totally nasty and quickly becoming dangerous.
Race relations are the worst I’ve seen them in a long time......but what do you expect from a community agitator?
Meet the press is doubling down on lynching Zimmerman.
Since Oracist waited a couple days to stir the pot, his statement was calculated to inflame the situation more. He gave his permission to burn the neighborhoods. Is there any question who the most racist man in America is?
Is a bounty legal? Can lynch mobs go unhindered in today's society?
As long as Obama is in the WH, implementation of Obamacare will take place. Congress won't be able to stop it no matter if the Reps regain control of the Senate and hold the House. And it certainly won't be repealed.
Rick Santorum on Face the Nation with Nora O’Donnell - Voters want a candidate with their principles written on their heart, not an etch a sketch.
What about the fact that you hve to get 70% of the delegates from here on out? Santorum says the numbers are wrong because of the Republican rules in the upcoming states.
After Louisiana, Romney camps said Santorum team is like a team celebrating a field goal when they’re down by 7. Team Romney calls Santorum’s campaign sadder and more pathetic by the day. Santorum - that’s a campaign without a message.
Nora Brings up the comments about “the stay with what we have”. Santorum says we means the voters. America needs a clear choice to run against obama. Nominating moderates never works in the general for Repub’s.
Another excellent spot on commentary Bray.
10 (thats right TEN) blacks were killed last weekend in Chicago, including an innocent 6 year old girl. Another 20 or so also suffered gunshot wounds. The shooters were other blacks so I guess that was no big deal to the liberal media. Did you hear about it in Oregon?
The only reporting I heard beyond Monday was on WLS and they carry generally conservative talk programming

Well there you...... go talking like a conservative.
ROTFL - that may be one of the funniest things I've ever read! Thanks for the laugh!
Black on Black, Brown on Black or Black on White crime don’t count. Only Whitey needs to be punished cause he’s racist.
Pray for America
On Wednesday, the Laura Ingraham radio show talked about an awful case here in KC that we’re livid it’s gotten NO national news/tv coverage - why? Because it was two older BLACK teens who doused a younger WHITE teen with gasoline as he was on the way home, set him on fire and said “you’re getting what you deserve, white boy”.
It stemmed from a black history class wherein the black teacher didn’t like the white kid’s answer, telling him, “what do YOU know about it? You’re not black”.
This was clearly a racial hate crime and the parents here are up in arms because it’s getting no news discussion.
Media bias and increased racism encouraged and emboldened by this WH radical cabal is lethal. Please vote AGAINST the Racist in Chief in November!
Are you kidding me? Of course he’d have to repeal Obamacare. That’s all he talks about. His word would be worth NOTHING once elected if he didn’t follow through.

Fox Round Table on Santorum
Paul Gigot big win for Santorum in Louisian, but the problem is he has to win outside the South.
Juan - Agrees with Paul. Romeny does better with upper income, more educated. Not sure how well he’ll even do in PA.
Hume - all Santorum can do is to deny Romney the nomination directly. That won’t play well with voters.
Kirsten Powers - race is where it is when it started. Romney keeps picking up delegates. Santorum is a real candidate, he’s won 11 states. It’s a long shot, though. Maybe he’s setting himself up for next time.
Did those KC perps get charged?
Half-truth #1: Oil production is the highest it has been in eight years.
Increased oil and gas production in the U.S. is a great development, but this is a result of increased production on private lands in North Dakota, Texas, and Alaska. On federal lands and offshore, the story is much grimmer. Production on federal lands and offshore could have yielded more output, increasing supply and therefore putting downward pressure on oil prices. Poor administrative decisionssuch as refusing to open areas to exploration and production, cancelling or delaying lease sales, and the offshore drilling moratorium and subsequent permitoriumsignificantly reduced oil production, destroying jobs and reducing economic activity in the process.
If there is an economic interest to produce this oil, Washington should allow companies to do so. In North Dakota, oil production is booming and unemployment is low. There should be more stories like this.
Half-truth #2: Increasing oil production takes too long and would not impact the market for at least a decade.
This has been the mantra of the anti-drilling crowd for years, and the longer politicians listen to the message, the longer the nations oil resources will remain undeveloped. If access to areas that are currently off limits is increased, it will take time to explore and extract that oil. But that does not change the fact that the nation needs it today and also in the future. Furthermore, some of this oil can reach the market in much less than a decade if the permitting process is streamlined and the Keystone XL pipelinewhich could bring up to 830,000 barrels of oil per day from Canada to the Gulf Coast refineriesis built.
SHOCK! Is David Gregory FINALLY doing his job as a so-called journalist and calling the Obamabots out on their lies?
Oh wait, I know why - it’s code for, “People are pissed off about the gas prices so we’re gonna help you guys do something about it by actually reporting some facts, regardless of your Marxist base, or you’ll lose in November - and we can’t have that - so wake up!”

Production of Oil, Gas and Coal on Federal Lands Sinks to Nine-Year Low
"The administration, meanwhile, has also taken several steps to limit production. Heritages Nick Loris noted these four steps taken by the Obama administration:
Withdrew areas offered for 77 oil and gas leases in Utah that could cost American taxpayers millions in lost lease bids, production royalties, new jobs and the energy needed to offset rising imports of oil and natural gas.
Cancelled lease sales in the Western Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic coast and delayed exploration off the coast of Alaska and kept other resource-rich areas off-limits.
Finalized rules, first announced by Secretary Salazar on January 6, 2010, to establish more government hurdles to onshore oil and natural gas production on federal lands.
Withdrew 61 oil and natural gas leases in Montana as part of a lawsuit settlement over climate change. The big picture is clear that government policies undertaken by the Obama administration have produced a significant decline in offshore oil production on federal lands in fiscal year 2011, the Institute for Energy Research said in response to last weeks updated EIA analysis. That is certainly not a way to increase domestic production of oil and keep oil and thus gasoline prices in check.
Great points, kabar. The pundits on each of the morning shows did take obama on (through Plouffe) on his stance on energy/gas prices. I was surprised.
I saw something earlier this weekend that showed the Obama administration forecasting that the national debt would be 900% of GDP by 2070, whereas the Paul Ryan plan calls more a more moderate growth and a balanced budget by the year 2040. No wonder people are not enthusiastic about Republican leadership. Taking 28 years to balance the budget is not fiscally responsible, it’s more of the same slow incremental strangulation of the economy.
It’s all one big game.

The Obama administration is actually pushing for more food stamp usage thru an aggressive advertising campaign and rewarding states with bonuses if they increase usage. Oregon got $5 million.
Just a few months ago the federal agency that administers the program, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), launched a multi-million-dollar initiative to recruit more food-stamp participants even though the number of recipients has skyrocketed in the last few years. This week Oregon officials bragged that the USDA has given the state $5 million in performance bonuses for ensuring that people eligible for food benefits receive them and for its swift processing of applications. The money comes on the heels of a separate $1.5 million award from the feds for making accurate payments of food stamp benefits to clients. So welfare recipients are clients? .It marks the fifth consecutive year that Oregon has been recognized by the federal government for exceptional administration of the entitlement program, according to the announcement posted on the states Department of Human Services web site.
The obvious question is should Newt move over so Rick can solidify the conservatives? I am for Newt but it is obvious he can’t win even in the South.
That drop happened right during the time he said “the Cambridge police acted stupidly” by defending his old, racist professor, Henry Louis Gate.
Speaking of Oregon, we filed our 4 petitions to bring Light Rail to a vote of the cities it will go through. The Portland mayor was bragging he will be bringing suitcases of money back from DC since we are the model they want to copy.
Our petitions just derailed that model.
Pray for America
What I find laughable is Obama claiming credit for increased oil production, the highest in 8 years. Federal versus private lands aside, how can anyone claim credit for oil production in three and 1/2 years when it takes at least 5 to 10 years from exploration and discovery to production. We will see Obama’s influence years from now. Obama inherited the Bush policies on increased production, which are bearing fruit now.
He'd do it, too, with a competent VP who could takeover as soon as he pardoned Scooter.
You know better than I, but from what I have read, Oregon is going thru a tough patch of unemployment and many of the progressive liberal policies are making the situation worse. Politically, can Oregon be coming to its senses or will the Dems continue to prevail?
This Week is double down on lynching Z and banning firerms.
Agreed, great post, have to work today, can’t freep.
Now the real reason is that the regulatory environment in the USA is geared to higher prices, but that would not play into the liberal media agenda, so they collectively forget it. Besides, they would probably have to be smarter than they are to figure that out. Or at least have some basic understanding of market forces and economics that did not come from Paul Krugman.

That's a very safe bet on his part.
