Too bad the real conservative didn’t stay in the race, leaving us with these dismal choices of Newt and Santorum.
Rick Santorum has NO chance to beat Obama, in fact, he is a dream come true for Team Obama - even better than Romney, and that's saying a lot.
Good for you. Just can't understand why you'd choose a second rate candidate to fight for.
Breathe deeply .... and good luck!
The "Buckley" admonition held sway when he said it but after years of following it we find ourselves with a stable filled with Big Government RINOs.
It's is time to find a better "rule."
Election cycles are not owned by the MSM and the Establishment anymore. Smart money might begin to realize what is happening.
“Rick Santorum has NO chance to beat Obama, in fact, he is a dream come true for Team Obama - even better than Romney, and that’s saying a lot.”
Nonsense. Pay attention to the demographics of who voted for Rick in AL and MS. Women and young people went for him in a big way.
There is a growing groundswell of opposition to 0 and his policies. All Santorum needs to do is provide a credible alternative and he’ll win easily. His positives far outshine his competitors in this primary.
I find it somewhat amazing that Gingrich supporters bash Rick’s electability in the general, when Newt trails him so badly in the national polls. Newt is a well-known quantity.
Thanks for posting the link with the transcript.
The GOP-e, Romney and the MSM have been holding back on Santorum's full vet. They need Newt out of their way to do it. Newt is the only thing standing between Rick and an incoming blitz of negative press. They know Newt is the stronger and they want Rick to be crowned the "anti-Mitt" before they cut him off at the knees and nominate Romney.
His brain is one thing, his pot bellied, old man running for president is another altogether... Newt’s only prayer is to hope to be offered a position in a Santorum administration, where he can put some of his great thinking into practical application... otherwise, he should be starting his next book...
Thanks for nothing...Alabama and Miss. voters. America needs a Statesman and you swallowed the hook, line and stinker.
Bla, bla, bla, Newt, bla, bla, Newt is a, bla, bla, bla, Newt could do, bla, bla, bla...
Oh, another Santorum hater! Thought you guys had gone underground. Well, guess what Peter? Rick won Alabama and Mississippi last night so your unsubstantiated name calling is a big F for Fail.
Now go do your faceplant in your morning breakfast.
And be sure to vote for Santorum during the general, he will ensure Newt has a seat at the table.
I support Newt, because I believe he'd make the right decisions for our nation.
That includes in the primaries.
Now that decision includes whether he'll continue campaigning or not.
We can't let romney win, period...
Newt's "Southern Strategy" has failed. As reluctant as I am to say it, he could consider throwing his support to Santorum. If Santorum could then win the majority of the remaining primaries, perhaps we can stop romney in his tracks.
I see that as a bigger threat at this point, and I'm hoping Newt will see it as well. Serving one's ego does not help anyone when our nation's future is at stake.
Freepers have tried to make a point this AM that the game is about the number of delegates. My thought is that at some point an effective strategy has to incorporate "winning" in order to be a viable path to victory. That did not happen last night.
I no longer believe Newt is viable. I'll have to change my tagline back, but can't bring myself to do it right now.
You go personal, just like a LIBERAL.
I told you. What’s Newt’s? You seem to want to avoid my question. Or doesn’t he have one?
Scared the crap out of us, didn’t it?
It's all about playing the angles now. I'm betting he'd like to be Veep on a Santorum ticket, or SecState in a Romney or Santorum Administration.
He published it in the WSJ, you can look it up.
Essentially it reduces and simplifies incomes taxes to 2 rates; it reduces corporate taxes, and calls for more drilling and tax breaks for manufacturers. You can bet he'd approve the Keystone pipeline day 1.
It calls for steep cuts in gov. spending. He'll repeal Obamacare day 2.
It is a very conservative agenda.
I do not see this as ego with Newt. And you could have made your point without resorting to insult. Newt didn't build the GOP in GA and bring about a Republican revolution for his ego. If he did "drop out" Santorum would be savaged. Newt understands it will take his presence in the primary to STOP Romney.
