Shep Smith on Fox openly discouraging Gingrich vote-polls still open.

Posted on 03/13/2012 4:30:47 PM PDT by mtrott

Unbelievably, Shep Smith just felt it necessary to push out some exit poll data that he says indicates that among those who only recently made their decision, those voters are going for Romney or Santorum. And this is with the polls still open.

I have to ask, why is he pushing out exit polling data that clearly could have a negative effect on one candidate's turnout? This is even worse than CNN's coverage of exit poll data. CNN has only been breaking it down by Conservative/Evangelical/income levels, etc.

You don’t have to ask. Clearly, it’s a case of gays for mittens.

I just heard Mark Levin say some networks are very anxious to put out exit polling while people are still voting. Fox News thinks it is being subtle in its tricks but they have been quite blatant and I have truly been very disappointed to see such low tactics. Many others have noticed this about Fox.

What do you expect from Shep? He’s a liberal fairy on a quasi conservative news channel.

I happened to be listening and my face turned blue when he made his remarks. Shep is clearly for Romney and he doesn’t hide it. None of them do. I changed the channel.

Clearly they all back the egomaniac. Thank goodness Newt doesn’t base his chances on their opinions.

I rarely watch Fox election returns coverage. They are so obviously in the tank for Romney, and have been from the beginning, that their coverage is worthless. I’ve switched to CNN for election coverage. Yes, they’re biased, but amazingly less biased than Fox News.

Somebody’s got Fox’s grapes ready to go in the winepress. Got to be due to News Corps’ fear of somebody or bodies...such as mega ad agencies. No apparent reason to shift course from their fair and balanced model which was working well with the public other than they were told ad buys were going to disappear and legal troubles were going to escalate otherwise.

Calm down! There is nothing in that statement that would cause undecideds to grab their coats and rush to the polling place to cast a vote for Romney. You're too emotionally involved in this.

For Pete's sake, get a grip. This is a pretty innocuous bit of information.

I want to take issue with that. We tend to get all wrapped up in people who can talk. And yes, communication is going to be a big part of being a winner. BUT, we fell for the same characteristic in Alan Keyes. Oh how he could debate the sox off anyone. And look at what Alan Keyes won. Is Newt really just another siren like Alan Keyes?

Someone just predicted Willard winning Mississippi? Not a chance in hell, unless voter fraud is so rampant that the entire process has been compromised. Either that, or the Mississippi I know (or knew) is extinct.

Maybe not, but it just seemed to me to be a specific bit of exit polling data that did have some potential to affect votes. If somebody was heading out the door to vote for Gingrich, and saw that data and was opposed strongly to Romney, they might just be influenced to vote Santorum just to keep Romney from the win.

I have a neighbor here in Fla. who said he was voting for Newt and his wife said she is voting for Romney as he is the only one who can win against Obama. I told him that is because she hears that on the news. Radio talk show host Neal Boortz said after looking at the polls even though he likes Newt best, he voted for Romney as he has the highest poll numbers to get rid of Obama. This is what we are dealing with here. The media has said only Romney can win against Obama.

Alan Keyes never did anything. Look at Gingrich’s track record.

Not a single candidate has that. And he attacked the GOP as much as he attacked the Dems, which is why the GOP hated him and they (including Santorum, who had been his protege) joined with the Dems in getting rid of him.

Let’s face it — Rimney has likely bought off Faux News. Where do you THINK all that election money of his goes? Goes to the MEDIA, that’s who.

That’s it. CNN has been far more fair, far more willing to present all views. YOu KNOW who they are for personally, but they’ve been the most balanced.

Faux is DEAD tome. I’m taking down Fox as my homepage. Forget them.

They stink anyway with all those RIDICULOUS blonde newscasters!!
