Romney campaign says losing nomination would take 'act of God'

BOSTON -- Mitt Romney's campaign gathered the national press corps in their campaign war room this morning to deliver a simple message: It would take an "act of God" for any candidate not named Mitt Romney to win the Republican nomination.

The Boston-based campaign projected confidence in Romney's ability to win the nomination given the emerging delegate math in the campaign following last night's Super Tuesday contests.

"We will get to 1,144 whether it's on someone else’s timeline, or on our timeline," said one top Romney aide. "We will get to 1,144 and be the Republican nominee."

The background briefing with several members of the campaign's senior staff was emblematic of Romney's campaign: no grand flourishes, just business, math and message, with aides asserting the calendar was ill-suited to any candidate looking to eat into Romney's delegate lead.

Looking ahead to a primary calendar where the only remaining true winner-take-all states appear to favor Romney -- Delaware, Utah, New Jersey and the District of Columbia (where Rick Santorum is not on the ballot) -- the advisers tried to slowly close the door on Santorum and Newt Gingrich, who they said had little to no opportunity left to close the delegate gap.

Other delegate-heavy states like California and Texas (the latter thought to be less friendly to Romney) are winner-take-all by congressional district, which all but guarantees their large delegate hauls being split between candidates, rather than award a large haul to a single GOP hopeful. One Romney aide said one would have to "bend the laws of reality," to see Gingrich or Santorum making a significant dent in Romney's lead...

-snip-

Asked directly when they would begin working behind the scenes to convince the Gingrich and Santorum campaigns to see the math their way, one Romney adviser responded bluntly "now."

The words “Even God himself could not sink this ship” were only part of the movie Titanic & spoken by a deck hand.

You are adding fuel to a fire that does not exist.

So give me a link that proves this claim as a fact. I would be interested to see if you can even come up with one.

I can easily see this going to the convention, where Mitt leads but doesn’t have 1,144. Here are my future guesses:

Are you sure about who made that statement.
I thought it came from one of the managers of the shipyard
or owner’s of the company. One of my friends is a world class expert on the Titanic-I will ask him.

We, the Republic, are being denied the choice to say NO to socialism and we had better act now!.
There is no difference between Romney and Obama. We, the Republic, are being denied the choice to say NO to socialism.
It’s a setup.
The fix is in.
We, the Republic, have been loosing a war of financial attrition for decades. We, the Republic are engaged in a war with those who govern us. Drastic measures are required to defeat this enemy in order to stop the bleeding that each of us are seeing in the depreciation of our savings, the constant onslaught of taxes, fees, and licenses. Each of them designed to remove our ability to live free.
If a slave is a person who works for no money, then a paid person who works with no money left for savings or investment is therefore a slave. In each case work is done, the slave is fed and roofed.
Fellow Freepers. We can act. We must act. In concert, by crafting a set message, perhaps like above, and post it in every “comments” section of every site any of us encounter. We keep posting the message so as to educate and enrage any reader everywhere. Particularly in all newspapers and news sites prior to each primary.
We must try to influence people other than ourselves about the demise of freedom that the powers have planned.
What better way then to stick with a message and keep spreading it?
We could organize a copy and paste posting attack.
We identify what sites, we declare a day and time for our educational crusade, then strike!
We don’t stop. We keep it up and convince others to copy and paste the same message. With in weeks we could change the political landscape.
We are not the minority. It may seem it, for our voices have been silenced for far too long.
It is time we out shout this evil, well organized attack on our liberties.
We must become equally well organized. Our message is clean and simple:
Freedom.

I take issue with this statement: “...there are an awful lot of conservatives who are voting for Romney...”

Exit polls in Ohio indicated that Romney is getting moderates and dissatisfied Democrats, liberals who will not vote for a do-over by BHO2.

I suspect that is why the GOPe have been promoting Romney. For Romney, and Wall Street in particular, are Globalists. First and foremost, they see themselves as world citizens maintaining peace and security world-wide through commerce. And of course, getting rich is important, too, as it keeps the military ‘machine’ primed and ready to maintain the all important security overseas.

For those who do not know what I’m talking about, here’s a quick primer.

It is all about money, power, and who will eventually wield both here at home and internationally.

Gov.Mitt Romney is the candidate for the elitist Republicans who are, in essense, supporters of Globalism.

Wall Street’s business model is international in scope and must have security overseas in order for commerce to thrive. In an attempt to dominate international commerce AND the monetary structure, the U.S.A. must project military strength world wide. This is neither conservative nor liberal in orientation and both Democrats and Republicans have been involved over the decades.

Until Obama arrived on the scene.

The only thing that matters to Republican Globalists is making money. They don’t give a damn about the rights of individuals. The common man or woman on the street is just a “unit” to be taxed or obliterated, it matters not to them.

The last thing they want is for conservatives with Bibles and guns asserting their God-given rights and demanding that Washington, D.C., changes how it does business.

Very interesting. But, I think Gingrich will get the Texas Delegates; not Santorum. Newt is endorsed by Rick Perry.

I did just pray:
that His sceptor decide which President USA shall have next. No one else, none other, no sum of dollars purchased, no foreign influence, no contrary action of man, interfere with this process. Contrary to all man’s ways and understanding, His will be done herein, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
