Mitt Romney leads President Obama by 4 percentage points in Gallup’s latest national head-to-head polling.
If the election were held Thursday, 50 percent said they would support Romney, versus 46 percent who would support Obama, according to Gallup. The president holds the edge on former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), 49 percent to 48 percent.

I don’t buy this poll for one second. It’s designed to make Republican voters go “Oh, Mitt Romney is the only one who can beat 0bama. We better vote for him in our states primary.”
If the Election were held today 0bama, against any of the Republicans, would win every state he won 2008 and probably pick up Missouri and Arizona as well.
Mitt Romney has made the entire Republican field look like clowns. Last night Romney had Santorum all tied, while showing himself to be a pompus ass. Newt had a good debate and was the man amongst the boys, but he is such damaged goods he has no chance at the nomination, let alone against 0bama.
Things can change quickly, but right now I really don’t see Romney, Santorum or Gingrich doing better than McCain against 0bama. Romney is a joke and media will ensure Santorum or Gingrich’s defeat.
But.....I really hope I am wrong. Time will tell.

I live in Massachusetts where I am REQUIRED TO purchase abortion services as “a condition of breathing” as one commentator put it recently. Every insurance plan sold in MA — including those sold to Catholic employer’s employees — is REQUIRED to include abortions. By contrast, that of Federal Employees does *not* — at least after 1997 or so.
My jaw dropped when Mitt Romney said that. And when he said that he didn’t raise taxes — Barbara Anderson of Citizens for Limited Taxation (CLT) dubbed him “MittFee” for all the ‘fees’ he was raising, including a tax on nursing home bills (that may have been Jane Swift).
He took what had been a $5/lifetime ID card required to own a gun and made it a $100 every four years “fee”, saying “anyone who can’t afford it doesn’t have to own a gun.” Worse was what his Lt Gov said for the admin — elders were living in homes they had purchased years earlier and owned outright, but were having trouble with the ever-increasing local real estate taxes — the response was ‘they are overhoused and should sell the homes to pay the taxes and then move into a one-room apartment.”

Republicans must win this election (and all subsequest ones)without these states, which are really part of a different country than the USA. It remains possible to do so. Republican candidates should not spend one red penny campaigning in those states. Republicans voting in those states with apportioned electors should act as disruptors and vote for ultraleft third parties that actually have a chance of siphoning off a few electoral votes from the Democrats.
Maine went totally Republican in the 2010 elections, so I would at least try to win in Maine.

No matter who the GOPresident is -- Mittens, Gingrich or Santorum -- they will have 6 years of a GOP Senate and at least 4 years of a GOP House.

Interesting theory..
We saw that in the way he attacked Newt...and in the way he forced Seamus to ride to Canada on the roof of the car.
That map says Kerry lost Iowa and barely won Wisconsin (.4%).
I’m thinking that Michigan and Iowa might be in play this year. But, if they don’t spend money and campaign in all of those States, it will hurt the down-ballot races for Senate and The House. We need to take control of the Senate and hold The House.

I spent my entire life thinking that Mormons were very moral and honorable people. Mitt Romney has destroyed that perception; for real.
And I cannot imagine Michigan going Republican (though hope springs eternal). It hasn't been in play in my adult life, and I'm not young anymore. Maybe with Detroit empty we have a shot?

Let’s get this straight: Mitt Romney is vulnerable - and if he loses his home state of Michigan on Tuesday, he might be toast.
For months we’ve been told by the media and the moderate establishment that Mitt Romney will be our nominee. We’ve been told it’s inevitable that Mitt Romney will win. Not anymore.
Romney lost Iowa. He lost South Carolina. And he’s on the verge of losing Michigan. This would be a crushing blow to Romney heading into Super Tuesday. Maybe you’re for Newt Gingrich - he’s no longer campaigning in Michigan. Maybe you’re for Ron Paul. Either way, no matter who your preferred candidate might be down the road, if you want to stop Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum needs to stop Romney in Michigan. We’re trying to make sure that happens. Will you join us?
Rick Santorum is doing everything he can to fight Romney on TV right now. Unfortunately, that means he doesn’t have much money left over for critical voter identification and get-out-the-vote phone calls that need to be made in the next 24-48 hours. That’s where we come in. Our plan is to spend the next 72 hours calling Michigan voters, identifying Santorum supporters, and getting them out to vote on Election Day. In a close election, it could be the difference between defeating Mitt Romney and allowing him to be our GOP nominee. We can’t let that happen.

*Goal: Identify 60,000 households in key battleground areas (West Michigan, Macomb County, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula)

*First dial: $31,606. Second dial: $63,212.
*Redial IDs Get-Out-The-Vote on Monday night: $1560
* TOTAL: $64,772
We need $31,606 immediately to get into the field and on the phones for Rick Santorum. There is no time to waste. This election happens Tuesday.
Romney and his team of attack dogs are pumping tens of millions of dollars into Michigan right now. If we’re going to stop Romney, we need to get these calls into the field ASAP.
This is the best chance conservatives are going to have to stop Mitt Romney. If he loses his home state of Michigan, he’s in deep trouble heading into Super Tuesday.
We need to fund Rick Santorum’s get-out-the-vote operation and stop Mitt Romney dead in his tracks. Not next week, not next month—RIGHT NOW. Will you join us?

I don’t think that’s true, and here’s why.
If Myth does 90% of what Zer0 does, he will do it WITH AN R NEXT TO HIS NAME.
What does this do? Well, Republicans in Congress who would otherwise balk at lib legislation if it were proposed by Zer0 WILL SIGN ON TO THE LEGISLATION BECAUSE IT IS PROPOSED BY THE LEADER OF THE GOP.
Imagine: amnesty, “tax fairness”, gutting the military and so much more ALL SAILING THROUGH CONGRESS because a “Republican” is at the helm of America. Contrast this with a second Obozo presidency where the GOP will dig in their heels and at least try to fight.
Yeah, I said it. An Obummer presidency is better for America than a Myth presidency (in the way that a cowpie sandwich is better than a meal of broken glass).
This is why we have to have a NOT-ROMNEY at the top of the ticket if we are to have any hope of digging America out of this hole we’re in.

Every national election from now on is going to come down to identity politics. The Dems are gonna give us "the candidates that look like America" from now on. Next up after Bummer: a woman. After her? A Hispanic or a homo.
2010 = 1994 redux. In 1996 Slick Willie ate our lunch (we had a proto-Mittens for our candidate...you would think that we would learn from our defeats). I wouldn’t put much stock in the 2010 numbers, at least not in typically blue states.
I’d like to be wrong. But we need to stop wasting our energy “enlarging the map” and concentrate on consolidating our known strengths. Most importantly, we need to be darn careful that we don’t lose Ohio, Virginia and Florida this time. If we need to make the Dems bleed cash a bit, let’s do it in a state where we stand a good shot, like Pennsylvania. Money and time spent in deep blue states is wasted and benefits people who have no intention of voting for us anyway. No Republican votes, no Republican dollars.
