No one ever gets over the loss of a child, and it's I'm sure even more difficult when they're lost in a war, but she is completely stuck in place and unable to function like a normal adult over the loss of her son. She's utterly obsessed. Get on with your life. You can't lose your life figuratively because your son lost his literally.
