There has been much chatter in recent days about the reinjection of religious matters into the presidential campaign, with a focus on the increasingly bitter debate over Catholics and contraception. But Rick Santorum has just opened up a new and dangerous front in the culture wars.
We are now being asked to debate which of the Christians running for president is really a Christian. I am referring here not to questions about Mitt Romney, whose Mormonism according to many evangelicals is not the right theological stuff, but to questions about President Barack Obama.
In the past, the strategy on the right was to intimate that Obama was a closet Muslim (he is not.) It was too crass even for our crassest politicians to come out and utter this falsehood, so, when asked about Obamas faith, the strategy was to say, If the president says hes a Christian, hes a Christian.

You will know them by their fruits.
You will know them by their fruits.
When someone goes to church ONLY to look for votes and do a cheap photo op, I really wouldn’t consider them a Christian. But that’s just me.
Get ready for this over the next 8 months if it looks like Rick is going to win. The Left will want to turn this into “Intolerant Rick” who wants to nose around your bedroom, vs. Obama. They have to because Obama is such a failure. Rick needs to not play into this. Social conservatives know he is on their side. He needs to focus on economics and regulation.
It was Obama who claimed his policies are consistent with Christ’s teaching. Obama is an arrogant SOB at all times.
As Rush said today, Santorum did not question Obama’s 20 year devotion to Rev. Wright.
He is obviously referring to the comparison of radical environmentalism to religious fervor. This analogy is very common in conservative circles, mostly because the analogy is so correct.
As a liberal, this kneejerk wouldn't get the reference, but I would imagine so much goes over his head unnoticed each day.
For an explanation of the comparison, he should pray to Gaia for karmic enlightenment, or seek a chakra releasing audience with Pope Gore.
Obama and his wife, Michelle are not Christians, period!!! Anyone that believes they are Christians is only fooling themselves. I, personally do not believe that Obama or his wife are Muslims, but, in practice, Obama never met a Muslim he did not like, including Bin Laden. Remember, folks both Hitler & Stalin had their own “Night of the Long Knives” wherein they slaughtered their own supporters by the thousands.
Actually, I believe that Obama & Michelle have no religion, they are both dyed-in-the-wool atheists, who believe they themselves are Gods, superior to us all!!! These, my friends are not nice people!!!
Too late.
Rick`s already backpeddling and withering under the secularist attack of all things.
Once you admit you`re wrong the left smells blood and will attack even harder.
Rick should have attacked by simply pointing to an Obama speech where he claimed Luke 12:48 was meant that taxes on the rich should be even higher.
That of course was complete heresy . God was speaking to his Disciples directly and speaking of the extra burdens of believers, NOT taxes.
If Rick that done that he would have eviscerated the jackals not at his heels from the dominant left-wing media.
Too late.

. Obama said the Muslim call to prayer is one of the prettiest sounds on earth, in an interview with Nicholas Kristof, published in The New York Times. Kristof described Obamas recitation of the Muslim call to prayer, the Adhan, with a first-class [Arabic] accent.
The opening lines of the Adhan (Azaan) is the Shahada:
Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme! I witness that there is no god but Allah I witness that there is no god but Allah I witness that Muhammad is his prophet...
According to Islamic scholars, reciting the Shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith, makes one a Muslim. This simple yet profound statement expresses a Muslims complete acceptance of, and total commitment to, the message of Islam.

This act plays into Islamization. Heres how it works and how Halal food plays a role:
From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.
They will push for the introduction of halaal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves along with threats for failure to comply (United States)

OBAMA MOCKS THE BIBLE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FCNK...w.phforamerica
I think some of y’all need to read Romans 13. Blew me away too.
Rush has been talking about this. He is playing some soundbites from Rick that I had not heard, like obama worldview upside down. I found it on the internet here:
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-3460_162-57381029/santorum-obamas-worldview-upside-down/
As I said in a similar thread:
I agree with Santorum. When I heard Obamas National Prayer Breakfast speech, I wondered Where did he learn that intrepretation of the Gospels of Jesus? It was a near social justice and secular humanist versions of what Jesus said. He spoke of Jesus as a radical social reformer, seeking to change the power structure in ancient Israel. That he was focused purely on physical things of this world and not spiritual things of the next world.
Obama does not, in those words, shows that he understands or knows that Jesus came to save our souls and take us (our true selves, our souls, not these physical bodies) back to heaven to be with our Father.
The gospel that Obama learned is that of humanism and communism that he learned from his grandparents, Frank Davis, and the reverend Jeremiah Wright.
It's a guaranteed winner.
At what point did Santorum say Obama isn’t a Christian?
And why do liberals who hate religion with a passion even care?
Watch Newt.
You should post this on the CNN link on this. If you do I will sit back and watch the progressives heads explode. Very few conservatives there; I only saw one poor soul.
I believe Obama is into Black Liberation Theology. Jeremiah Wright is his “pastor”. They like to try and mix their real religion “socialism” with portions of the Bible that they can they twist and fool people into thinking it is a religion.
You know him by his own words.
>(Because Obama’s NOT a Christian)<
.
And neither is the Mormon, Romney.
Thanks. Rick was on fire this weekend.
You will know them by their fruits.
You know him by his own words.
Obama is a Muslim
So no one wants to post this on CNN liberal website? I suggested you men do it because I don’t believe women should serve on the battlefield, and that site is hot with the enemy. There was one poor guy who was trying to defend Christians and conservatives. Not that I want anyone to leave FR, just send a smart bomb their way.
OBAMA DIDN’T SAY THAT OBAMA IS NOT A CHRISTIAN, on the contrary, Santorum said that if Obama says that he’s a Christian, he’s a Christian.
What Santorum was saying was that to Obama and the left, environmentalism and global warming are a religion, a religion that elevates mankind and his actions above and greater power.
Either you and the left are being purposefully obtuse in your interpretation of Santorum’s remarks or you simply have never heard anyone describe environmentalism as the religion of the left.
The author is applying willfull ignorance, by omitting the context in which the comments were delivered.
It is clear Santorum is decrying the religion of environmentalists, making Earth their “god”, pretending that being “responsible with our resources” somehow relieves us of the respect for life and demands population control, and the destruction of capitalism and industry.
Zer0 and Michelle have bought into the Liberation Theology derivative which was first played by the Communist in South America. It was fought by Pope John Paul II and driven out of South America. Since then it has infected various American churches, including Obama’s church in South Chicago. Christians need to oppose Liberation Theology wherever it is tried.
Who has more fruits supporting him than ObaMao? :->
Geez, you have the ability to know who has ‘the life of God’ born into their hearts through faith in Jesus Christ? Who do you think you are. Be careful here, it was the religous leaders that Jesus had his harshest words for. I would suggest that you do not know the president’s heart. Now having said what is important, he does not appear to understand Chritianity. But a lot of Christians don’t either apparently.
I posted it, but so far CNN has not “approved” it. Liberals do not truly believe in freedom of speech, but maybe they will surprise me.
No matter who the puppet masters in the GOP allow to run, if they do not use the video of Rev Wright’s G-D America rant in EVERY commercial they will show me this entire election process is a sham to make us believe we have a choice.
I am slowly coming to a position where I believe we only have a government party of ruling elites with a left and right wing.
If I am wrong you would have to explain why so many instances of politicians violating their oath to support the Constitution does not result in immediate removal from office. No wonder both side have to pack the USSC with political hacks and not individuals 100% committed to assuring that government is kept within its Constitutional limits.
I am wrong to say Liberation Theology was driven out of South America by the Catholic Church. Actually, it is still being promoted there as well as other parts of the world.
It did not blow me away. Is there something in particular that you are referring to in Romans 13. There is a lot packed in there. Of course we respect our leaders and their authority. But if they are harming our country we vote their butts out. So, I guess I still don’t understand your point. LOL
None of us can know for sure if they’re Christian, but it would help your argument to list a few of their Christ-like actions.
Their unChristian and muslim-like actions are much easier to come by.
Truth be known, Santorum hasn’t the slightest idea what constitutes a Christian, since he has worshiped Ishtar/Mary all his own life.
Obviously Obama is not a Christian, or a Moslem, since he worships himself.
.
An atheist wouldn't wear a wedding ring with a serpent on it. I wonder what religion worships serpents.

The mystery of iniquity seems to never rest.
Correct. He made that crystal clear with a follow-up interview on Fox News last night. He was spot on in the way he answered the question. Gibbs is nothing more than a liberal bed wetter in trying to twist the issue.
However, you could make an excellent case as to why ObaMao wasn't a Christian either. That wasn't the topic of the particular question and Santorum's response, however.
you see, that is the deal, I can’t name any. So yes they are suspect, I agree. But we still are not in position to declare who is or who is not Christian. That is a big problem not only for me, but for many. We should not go down that road.
It is up to the Christ to say who He considers to be one of his followers and who is not:
Luke 6:46
(46) And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Later, He dictates to John, who writes in Revelation 22:
Revelation 22:11-15:
(11) He acting unjustly, let him still act unjustly. And the filthy, let him be filthy still. And the righteous, let him be righteous still. And the holy, let him be holy still.
(12) And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each according as his work is.
(13) I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, the First and the Last.
(14) Blessed are they who do His commandments, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and they may enter in by the gates into the city.
(15) But outside are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and makes a lie.
(and ‘dogs’ is slang for homosexuals)
What are “His commandments”?
Mark 10:19
(19) You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not defraud, honor your father and your mother.
God is not mocked! It is pretty clear who strives to conform their public actions and private thoughts to what Jesus says and who does not. This is why there is so much push-back on the left to any discussion about this in the public square.
ML/NJ
Exactly wrong. He needs to expand on his attack on Obamas secularism and Gaia worship while relating it to Obamas dictatorial abridgement of the 1A and gasoline prices that have already reached 4 bucks a gallon here in Ct.
The same group which subscribes to these wild distortions is equally quick to p*ss on Mormons.
Together these two denominations alone constitute about 1/3rd of the GOP electorate, plus a goodly share of the rest of us who are turned off by this sick religious bigotry. Where do you propose to get the third you want to drive away?
If Obama was a Christian he would have opposed the murder of his lovers at Trinity Church.
I could not agree with you anymore!... Yes, he is "on our side" simply by not being of santan's side as OHOMO clearly is, in terms of morality in general. However, I would like him to concentrate on the problems that affect everyone and not make the "Christianity" subject his central theme. Now, there is not question he is going to be asked ALL KINDS OF QUESTIONS on morality, just to see if he makes a mistake of some sort... and HE WILL HAVE TO BE READY to explain his points of view and MOVE ON to the central issues.
You have every right to believe what you wish to believe. But....please do not chastise me for speaking what my own eyes see and my own ears hear from the words and actions of Obama and his wife. I think you should become a more astute student of history....focusing on those who would wrap themselves in the banner of religion to achieve their own destructive and power hungry goals!!! I will gladly respect your opinion, provided you give me and others the same courtesy!!!
does that include your side or only dems
