First Lady Michelle Obama arrived in Aspen on Friday afternoon and is here with her daughters for a ski vacation.
Few details about her trip were available. Sources said she is staying at the home of Jim and Paula Crown, owners of the Aspen Skiing Co. She is reportedly skiing at Buttermilk today, where the Crowns, of Chicago, own a home on the Tiehack side.
Several people have known about the “low-key” vacation, with the Secret Service in town for the past few days scoping out places for the family to relax and enjoy what the resort has to offer.
Pitkin County Sheriff Joe DiSalvo confirmed that he has met with the Secret Service and has loaned seven deputies to help protect the first lady and her family.

It seems ironis that the constant ballyhoo about community organizing and the poor folks in the hood is all forgotten when the royal family heads out to Martha's Vineyard, Aspen or, Hawaii. It seems that (just once) they'd visit the hood and say hello .
Whew! I've been worried about her. I know that the stress of being Mrs First Fraud is difficult and she has needed to get away.

I lived in Aspen for 3 years in the early 1980’s and I could count on one hand the amount of AfAms I saw. I heard she never did ski at Vail last year just her kids. Maybe she thinks she looks cute in a ski outfit.
I wonder what gov’t aircraft she used to get into Aspen with a short runway and steep take off pattern it would limit the Queen.

What a shocker! A group of men being critical of a woman’s appearance! Vacation criticism, like those of all First Ladies (Laura Bush took plenty of vacations) is legit. Criticism of their appearance is not legit and is sexist. I saw posts about Laura’s thick ankles and shapeless legs, and that being why she wore pants so often. I saw posts years ago criticizing her for not wearing dresses more often. I saw posts criticizing her hair, her supposedly squinty eyes, her matronly fashion style, etc., etc. All out of bounds, IMO. They didn’t run for office and are not Presidents. They’re just married to the guy and do their best to dress appropriately, have the required pet projects, and continue to raise their children and keep their marriages intact.

We even made a guillotine and hung a barbie from the 3rd floor window. your host, our local Marie Antoinette tried to get the last sculpture removed-—it was public art in a public place-—really LOL -—the City sent me a letter asking me to remove it. It gets funnier. The City copied two VP’s & a CEO from SKico on it.
