White House Economic Adviser: 'We Need a Global Minimum Tax'

White House Economic Adviser: 'We Need a Global Minimum Tax' Daniel Halper February 13, 2012 2:41 PM

Gene Sperling, director of the White House's national economic council, said today at an official meeting that "we need a global minimum tax":

“He supports corporate tax reform that would reduce expenditures and loopholes, lower rates for people investing and creating jobs in the U.S., due so further for manufacturing, and that we need to, as we have the Buffett Rule and the individual tax reform, we need a global minimum tax so that people have the assurance that nobody is escaping doing their fair share as part of a race to the bottom or having our tax code actually subsidized and facilitate people moving their funds to tax havens," Sperling said.

The White House adviser then said that more details would be forthcoming, though "not in gory detail."

"But we will say more, perhaps not in gory detail, but in more detail, before the end of the month. And in terms of the revenues, the president is looking for shared sacrifice. This budget is a Democratic budget that has savings in Medicaid, it has savings from new beneficiaries, Medicare in 2017, it has agriculture civilian retirement savings. It has a lot of very tough choices."

Just imagine what will come out of this administration if -bama is re-elected and they don’t have to worry about what taxpayers think about them during the next four years.

“... those who have the honor of serving the public should automatically have the honor, nay the privilege of paying the highest tax rate available, regardless of what their income. On every dollar they take in, no matter how it comes to them. That way we know they have lots of skin in the game. That’s what I think. Let’s keep them honest and let’s keep them from thinking very long and hard about class warfare, shall we?”

I really REALLY like this proposal of yours!

The Looters are winning because their victims have largely accepted the premise that the need of one is a valid claim on the rights of another, and that the primary purpose of government is to settle such claims in favor of takers and against producers. They effectively use the ability, effort and achievement of people who create value as a weapon against them through unearned guilt, and increasingly through force.

From “hope and change” to “shared sacrifice”.

We MUST get this Marxist OUT of our government!

An OVERPAID, DISFUNCTIONAL, ECONOMIC ILLITERATE.

Your taxpayers’ dollars at work.

Mindless mumbling from the Obama insane asylum.

Blatant stupidity on display.

A foresight of things to come.

The perfect reason to vote against Obama.

Won't have to if N0bamney gets the nomination.

Imagine there's no future.

It's easy if you try.

Elect Romney or 'Bama.

And watch your country fry.

I don’t recall the details, but the story of GE paying zero tax last year was inaccurate.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/ge/financials

On the annual income statements, look at the “Income Tax” lines.

Not EXACTLY zero, but pretty darn close.

No, he’s just so wrong. I think we need to tax EVERYONE 100%. Yep....just let governments around the globe take ALL of everyone’s earnings and distribute them as they see fit.

I mean, that is the logical conclusion of his idea here, so let’s just cut out the painful middle parts and get it over with.

Oh.....forgot to add.....

You can’t implement such a 100% tax in one fell swoop, so I have the solution.

Anyone worldwide who identifies themselves as Socialist, Communist, Green Party (same thing), Democrat, or any other left-leaning party.....they’ll be first. I mean look, they so love the idea of redistribution of wealth that they will GLADLY be the guinea pigs here, right? They’ll delight in giving away all of their income to see that social justice is finally achieved in their lifetimes.

Yep....in this country, registered Dems would be hit first with this new 100% tax policy; then they can tell the rest of us how swell it is after about the first 3 months.

As the global is lower case, do you think he meant a minimum tax on everybody? Maybe solving that 47% problem? I’m for everybody paying and at the same rate. No exemptions.

Yes, the insider trading needs to be stopped. I believe they also need to be paid a stipend instead of a salary. The congressional or senate seat they were elected to should also NOT become a santuary for these people to secure riches for themselves at the expense of the taxpayer.

Where are the Pubs bringing this to the attention of the ave. voter??? They never seem up on the every-day issues that people are seeing nowadays. Why do they not respond to such inanities?? Dick Morris made a suggestion that every day, Mitt, or in my advice, every Pub candidate in all 50 states, should comment on every Bama and Dem error and horror on a daily level so that people will hear, listen and read about it . If they wait for the MSM to respond, crickets! And the Pubs will of course be maligned as the Stupid Party over and over and over. Respond you idiots.

Obama = surrender

The people and unelected in the WH really hate the USA.

Even Justice Ginsberg hates the US constitution. She needs to resign. She is just holding on for the elections.
