Rick is a RINO..Did anyone watch Hannity's show tonight? Rick said that we can't go after Zero because he is so "Popular". Didn't Rush say something about not going after Zero from a conference call with consultants?
By the way, Newt did great tonight:)
WE ARE SO #%&@ING SCREWED!!!
That’s OK I’m still voting for Santorum.
I want to like Ricky but something has just nagged me to not like him.
It looks like that something was correct.
Rick got the memo. He is supposed to stay in and split the conservative vote.
It depends on the definition of “go after”.
That’s about right, you got it.
The reason he is personally liked (separate from his policies) is because the liberal media and the mealy mouth RINOs refuse to divulge his true background - corruption, racism, radicalism, etc.
He was talking about taking it to him, Romney/Gingrich style. Both are unpopular and still took a hit for going so negative. You can stay on message and debate him without going attack dog and turning off the independent vote....raaaadical!whatever.
You were watching a RINO network.
What is wrong w/Rick??? I guess he just wants to be part of the club more than he wants to win an election or save the country. RINOism seems to be the ultimate Republican aspiration.
I had thought I could support Rick if he somehow was the last man standing. After that interview I would sooner vote for Romney. (which, of course, means I can't support either one)
Santorum’s a rare beta male to have been a US senator and presidential candidate.
True that, but it is what it is.....Rick said it..Goody Two Shoes ain’t going to cut it.
Let’s make a list of those who WILL take it to Obama, and then everyone support them.
Would save a lot of time.
Beta male is a good description.
He seems very passive aggressive.
Er....That would be Newt
Yep. Might guess he had a domineering father and over-strong relationship with his mother or some such.
What ever it is, it bugs me.
Accurate assessment.
And he'll wonder why he can't get any traction towards the nomination.
The money boys and the RINO establishment want Romney and enough of the electorate in the Republican party are quite willing to go along with it. IMHO Newt is the best one to go up against Obama. He has shown it on the campaign trail and in the debates. But alas the the elite have chosen their candidate. That said, GO NEWT GO!
I just consider him simple human crud.
I listened to Rick’s segment.
He didn’t say he’s not going to take it to Obama.
He said that the politics of personal destruction which is what Romney
and Gingrich are doing ain’t gonna fly in the general v. Obama.
Romney is in particular trouble because he can’t voice why he wants
to be President.
Obama is personally well liked by polling. So a Bill Ayres, Rev. Wright, anti-Michelle Obama lazy person commercial will not do well against Obama, even
though I and all you freepers know he is the laziest SOB in the White Hut
ever. He is thin skinned; elitist; vacationer; corrupt ; moral midget and
Michelle is the epitome of declasse with her million dollar vacations to
Spain and Vail.
But you can’t just pile on personally on Obama and expect to win.
Rick Santorum is right.
Buckle up gentemen. You have to communicate conservative ideas
and fight the MSM and Obama’s PAC billion dollars.
Freedom is worth it.
Because if you made the election about personalities rather than performance, Obama wins. If you stay focused on the issues and his performance, then he loses. Santorum happens to be right. He also happens to be humble enough that he is the least likely of the three to fall into Obama's trap of making the election about personalities.
“But alas the the elite have chosen their candidate.” Agree with everything you said. I would add that this may be our last chance to correct that course, God willing.....
Good news! Santorum doesn’t have a personality to attack.
While Santorum won’t rip Obama personally, he WILL rip him on SUBSTANCE:
“January 24, 2012 | 11:43 p.m.
President Obama, far from delivering the State of the Union, instead kick-started his reelection campaign on Tuesday, said Republican presidential contender Rick Santorum, who had harsh words for the president.
“From beginning to end, the American people heard more of the same empty promises and grand platitudes that will do nothing to help the millions of Americans who are unemployed or under employed find a good paying job,” Santorum said in a statement Tuesday.”
We’ve got to be careful about those knee-jerk reactions, people.
Rick is absolutely wrong. It has been proven time and time again that negative ads work. It is an absolute fact. 2012 will be the most vicious campaign in history.
The swarmy, whiny, over-inflated ego, geek, sub-beta male Rick will be chewed up and spit out within the first week.
People respect a fighter. There is nothing in Rick's DNA that indicates he has any Political Warrior blood in his genes. 2012 will be year for Political War tactics making the difference, not a campaign waged on ideas winning.
In a political War, people will instinctively be repulsed by the weak and whiny. Ideas will play a secondary role.
Rick will NEVER be the nominee and NEVER be President.
If Santorum thinks 0bama is too ‘popular’ to take on when 0bama has approval ratings in the lower 40% range, then I suggest Santorum drop out and support Gingrich rather than waste everybody’s time any longer.
Or was it when he called Newt erratic, grandiose, and he, SAnctimonium, was actually the go-to guy in the senate that EVERYBODY came to to get things done.. that kind of humble"
Or when he bragged on stage and said he was faithful and had the kind of superior character that was needed in the white house - that kind of humble? or... ,
Ouch! you nailed that arrogant elitist fool. Rick has a truly over-inflated ego. The guy will go nowhere. People around him must be afraid to tell him the truth.
“You must have watched a different Hannity show than I did. Because all Rick said on the show which I watched was that personal attacks, even on Obama, were counterproductive because he has a generally likable image and nice family. What needed to be attacked was his record and pathetic performance in office.
Because if you made the election about personalities rather than performance, Obama wins. If you stay focused on the issues and his performance, then he loses. Santorum happens to be right. He also happens to be humble enough that he is the least likely of the three to fall into Obama’s trap of making the election about personalities.’
I Beg to Differ. This is why we will lose. Newt is the only one that will call ‘zero’ what he is, a “Saul Alinsky Radical”. I wonder how many people now know who Saul Alinsky is now vs a month ago. This radical that is obama needs to to be shown the light of day. Now Newt needs to bring up the Cloward/Piven connection. If he would do that, I believe we would be hearing from America’s Mayor, Rudy....
It needs not to be personal attacks, just the facts as they are......
Rasmussen’s latest poll shows Santorum virtually tied with Obama; Gingrich is -8%.
Of course 0bama would take the self effacing Santorum apart in the general campaign, and the opposite would be the case with Gingrich vs 0bama.
personally popular. he has a nice family.
We’ll see if Santorum has the guts and street instincts to win the nomination.
He has yet to face his ultimate test.
He still has a shot.
BINGO!
Gingrich cannot beat Obama .
GO NEWT!
OK, so the same people that used to tell us not to pay attention to these head to head polls, this early on, should not be payed attention to, are now telling us that we should support so and so, because these polls are telling us so? I don’t get it, but, of course, I could be wrong, kinda like the polls I guess:}
Mitt cannot beat Obama .
Rick cannot beat Obama .
Gingrich has been improving daily. His ideas are wonderful and he is a fighter.
I was totally skeptical of Newt a month ago. I did research, realized he is by no means perfect, but have come to appreciate how he is better connecting with the people, formulating a good message -- repeal Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, Sarbanes Oxley (sp)hopefully on his first day.
He developing a great platform that will present a clear choice between he and Obmama.
Say what you will, Newt was the driving force in engineering the House takeover in the early 90s.
Please watch his speak the night of the FL primary. He was very impressive.
Bump.
From his supporters I’ve encountered here, and around Florida last week, they think he (and they) are, the holiest, the purest, and the God-ordained... for obvious reasons...
The guy’s got a big family to support, he’s probably looking for a job. The odds are high, in my opinion, his involvement in the race is to knock out Newt.
Yep. taht. What you said. ;-)
Hank
He [is] developing a great platform that will present a clear choice between he and Obmama.

I completely agree. Newt can deliver the goods. .
I agree!!
“The odds are high, in my opinion, his involvement in the race is to knock out Newt.”
Our thoughts as well. Newt must be taken out at all cost.
Nice guy, but not presidential timber.
We need a fighter! A junkyard dog!
