Santorum will not take it to Obama
Daveinok54

Posted on 02/02/2012 8:04:37 PM PST by DaveinOK54

Rick is a RINO..Did anyone watch Hannity's show tonight? Rick said that we can't go after Zero because he is so "Popular". Didn't Rush say something about not going after Zero from a conference call with consultants?

By the way, Newt did great tonight:)

It looks like that something was correct.

Fortunately that's not a decision he will ever have to make. After his mentor Romney wins the nom, Santorum will be relegated to the cheap seats. There he can piss and moan about how unfair it all is, how "God told him to do this" and how "Romney promised."

The reason he is personally liked (separate from his policies) is because the liberal media and the mealy mouth RINOs refuse to divulge his true background - corruption, racism, radicalism, etc.

He was talking about taking it to him, Romney/Gingrich style. Both are unpopular and still took a hit for going so negative. You can stay on message and debate him without going attack dog and turning off the independent vote....raaaadical!whatever.

I saw his interview on Hannity. It will be interesting to hear Mr Limbaugh or Ms Malkin “spin” that one tomorrow. Actually, I don't think they will ...but I do expect they will have some VERY different tactical advise for Rick!!!

What is wrong w/Rick??? I guess he just wants to be part of the club more than he wants to win an election or save the country. RINOism seems to be the ultimate Republican aspiration.

I had thought I could support Rick if he somehow was the last man standing. After that interview I would sooner vote for Romney. (which, of course, means I can't support either one)

And he'll wonder why he can't get any traction towards the nomination.

The money boys and the RINO establishment want Romney and enough of the electorate in the Republican party are quite willing to go along with it. IMHO Newt is the best one to go up against Obama. He has shown it on the campaign trail and in the debates. But alas the the elite have chosen their candidate. That said, GO NEWT GO!

I listened to Rick’s segment.

He didn’t say he’s not going to take it to Obama.

He said that the politics of personal destruction which is what Romney
and Gingrich are doing ain’t gonna fly in the general v. Obama.
Romney is in particular trouble because he can’t voice why he wants
to be President.

Obama is personally well liked by polling. So a Bill Ayres, Rev. Wright, anti-Michelle Obama lazy person commercial will not do well against Obama, even
though I and all you freepers know he is the laziest SOB in the White Hut
ever. He is thin skinned; elitist; vacationer; corrupt ; moral midget and
Michelle is the epitome of declasse with her million dollar vacations to
Spain and Vail.

But you can’t just pile on personally on Obama and expect to win.

Rick Santorum is right.

Buckle up gentemen. You have to communicate conservative ideas
and fight the MSM and Obama’s PAC billion dollars.

Freedom is worth it.

You must have watched a different Hannity show than I did. Because all Rick said on the show which I watched was that personal attacks, even on Obama, were counterproductive because he has a generally likable image and nice family. What needed to be attacked was his record and pathetic performance in office.

Because if you made the election about personalities rather than performance, Obama wins. If you stay focused on the issues and his performance, then he loses. Santorum happens to be right. He also happens to be humble enough that he is the least likely of the three to fall into Obama's trap of making the election about personalities.

While Santorum won’t rip Obama personally, he WILL rip him on SUBSTANCE:

“January 24, 2012 | 11:43 p.m.
President Obama, far from delivering the State of the Union, instead kick-started his reelection campaign on Tuesday, said Republican presidential contender Rick Santorum, who had harsh words for the president.

“From beginning to end, the American people heard more of the same —empty promises and grand platitudes that will do nothing to help the millions of Americans who are unemployed or under employed find a good paying job,” Santorum said in a statement Tuesday.”

excerpt http://www.nationaljournal.com/2012-presidential-campaign/quick-take-santorum-criticizes-obama-says-america-deserves-better—20120124

We’ve got to be careful about those knee-jerk reactions, people.

Rick Santorum is right.

Rick is absolutely wrong. It has been proven time and time again that negative ads work. It is an absolute fact. 2012 will be the most vicious campaign in history.

The swarmy, whiny, over-inflated ego, geek, sub-beta male Rick will be chewed up and spit out within the first week.

People respect a fighter. There is nothing in Rick's DNA that indicates he has any Political Warrior blood in his genes. 2012 will be year for Political War tactics making the difference, not a campaign waged on ideas winning.

In a political War, people will instinctively be repulsed by the weak and whiny. Ideas will play a secondary role.

Rick will NEVER be the nominee and NEVER be President.

I Beg to Differ. This is why we will lose. Newt is the only one that will call ‘zero’ what he is, a “Saul Alinsky Radical”. I wonder how many people now know who Saul Alinsky is now vs a month ago. This radical that is obama needs to to be shown the light of day. Now Newt needs to bring up the Cloward/Piven connection. If he would do that, I believe we would be hearing from America’s Mayor, Rudy....

It needs not to be personal attacks, just the facts as they are......

I don’t get it, but, of course, I could be wrong, kinda like the polls I guess:}

Gingrich cannot beat Obama .

Mitt cannot beat Obama .

Rick cannot beat Obama .

Gingrich has been improving daily. His ideas are wonderful and he is a fighter.

I was totally skeptical of Newt a month ago. I did research, realized he is by no means perfect, but have come to appreciate how he is better connecting with the people, formulating a good message -- repeal Obamacare, Dodd-Frank, Sarbanes Oxley (sp)hopefully on his first day.

He developing a great platform that will present a clear choice between he and Obmama.

Say what you will, Newt was the driving force in engineering the House takeover in the early 90s.

Please watch his speak the night of the FL primary. He was very impressive.
