You mean like the U.S.S. Eisenhower?

And the Teddy Roosevelt, and the Abe ..... he was a Militia captain in the Blackhawk War .....

Guess we'll have to look up where John Stennis and Carl Vinson served their military time. (Might not have, they were pols through-and-through. If Stennis served in an "army" it was probably Boss Vardaman's machine in Miss'sippi.)

Before we turn away from this neo-bad-tradition of naming aircraft carriers for live people and out-of-office ex-POTUS's-and-pols (but I repeat myself ....for emphasis), why is it the 'Rats never got around to naming a carrier after our boy TJ? Is he now non-PC in his own party? And never mind the Declaration of Independence?
