Sorry to burst your bubbles, fellow Newties, but we’re not winning Florida.
Romney was the clear winner. Everything was clearly stacked in his favor, from the audience to the questions and even his answers, but the MSM will slant their coverage to cover over the evidence. He needed to be broken and he only took a few punches.
Santorum is no better at debates than Herman Cain. If the moderator tosses him a question he knows, he can knock it out of the park. If he doesn’t know, he uhms, ahhs, and stumbles his way through something incoherent. That won’t cut it against Mitt Romney OR Barack Obama.
Newt didn’t have the landmark performance he needed. In particular, his initial responses on immigration were awful. He gave Romney a new soundbite: the problem with immigration isn’t 11 million illegal grandmas. Romney is a vile, reprehensible cretin, and I’ll never vote for him, but I actually agree with that statement.
Paul is Paul. He actually had some quirky, funny moments.
Will that there Magic underwear stop me from peeing in Morse code?
Gloria Borger massaged Mitt’s manhood.
Newt said thanks I am no shrinking violet.
Ari Fleicher calls Mitt an alpha dog.
What would a pussy like Ari know about alpha dog.
Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper, and Ari Fleisher praising Mitt Romney.
Talk about the testosterone challenged praising the testosterone challenged.
CNN show me some Testosterone give Donna Brazille a chance.
Although Santorum performed remarkably well, any advance by Santorum in the vote count comes out of Gingrich's score. Therefore, a good debate by Santorum such as we saw tonight hurts Gingrich.
Romney did very well on theatrics and that is of vital importance in this context. Gingrich's argument is that he can out debate Obama and that means that he must be able to out debate both Santorum and Romney. A tie is a loss.
Finally, Gingrich went into the debate tonight requiring a turnaround performance and he did not deliver. He will lose momentum in Florida.
Full disclosure I am one of the earliest supporters of Gingrich on these threads. My observations are just that, reporting what I saw, not what I wish to have seen.
Santorum and Paul did well tonight.
once the whiskey fog clears my mind I will comment on tonights’ debate, however it was not a good night.
The audience was stacked tonight for Romney. Two of my friends tried to get tickets and to avail most of them were already reserved by the RNC. Very fishy. Because did you notice how those dimwits laughed about improving the Interstate while improving the port in South Carolina? Did you catch that slip of the tongue by Romney when he said we did the national health care plan? Oops, guess he meant to say state plan. Of all of the people the elitist could pick, they got this snake and dirty politician. Newt did fine. Under all of the weekly Drudge attacks, he did great. He tried to stay cool when the moderator was asking dumb questions. If a republican votes for Romney and his socialized government health plan, you are asking for that to go nationwide. If Romney can’t win with an honest campaign, he is just another corrupt person. Very angry with the media, we had Clinton, then Bush caved in-now maybe a Mass liberal. I don’t see an improvement with Romney.
Rick Santorum had a tremendous night; he did better than I could have anticipated. He’s looking more and more Presidential to me.
Still going? Long debate.
