"New Jersey Governor Christie Picks Gay Black Man, Asian For Top Court"
CBS Philly.com ^ | January 23, 2012

Posted on 01/23/2012 1:31:06 PM PST by Politics4US

"TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie moved to diversify the state’s all-white Supreme Court on Monday by proposing two firsts: the nominations of an openly gay black man and a Korean-born law enforcer to fill two vacancies.

Christie announced the nominations at a Statehouse news conference attended by both nominees and their families. If confirmed, Bruce A. Harris would become New Jersey’s first openly gay justice, and Phillip H. Kwon would become its first Asian representative and the first person born outside the United States to be sworn in."

Hey, didn't New Jerseyites already learn with Jim McGreevey that having gay blades at the top of your government is not necessarily something you need.

This dude will be back down there at the rest stop in Virginia getting arrested sure as shootin'.

These actions reveal the true meaning of the terms “moderate Republican.” When are conservatives going to start educating people regarding the true referent for the term “moderate?” “Moderate” almost always refers to a person who supports liberal
initiatives.

Worse, like them he's playing politics with our country's future.

Ann will have a hissie fit when she sees our comments.

Obviously this little tidbit completes the puzzle and shows the Coulter to Gay Guys to this Gay Guy to Christie links.

Too many Republicans have gotten themselves and the party burned bad over the last decade for any of us to tolerate this sort of blatant favoritism toward their gay buddies.

Senator Craig, Mark Foley, Ken Mehlman, ..... a cast of thousands including top level staffers in the House of Representatives, friends of Dennis Hastert, etc.

The American public tolerates homosexuals messing around in the Democrat party, but not the Republican party.

Good thing we got a chance to nip this cabal in the bud before we ended up with a Senator Eagleton problem at the last minute.

Before passing judgement on these appointments, I’d like to know about their political backgrounds and beliefs.

I frankly don’t care whether these people are horny white men or bulemic Asians, if they’re adherants to the Constitution and will judge fairly without legislating from the bench.

Instead, I’m reading immediate kneejerk responses to the media description of race, gender, sexual habits instead of judicial qualifications.

“What, no qualified muzzies available?”

He already did.

Christie to Nominate Muslim as Superior Court Judge

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/14/nyregion/14christie.html

Gov. Chris Christie said Thursday that one of his seven nominees for Superior Court judgeships would be a lawyer who represented many detainees swept up by the government in the post-9/11 dragnet.

The lawyer, Sohail Mohammed, worked in the aftermath of the attacks to try to foster trust between American Muslims and law enforcement, particularly federal officials. He is a board member of the American Muslim Union. Mr. Christie, a United States attorney, was a regular guest at that group’s annual Ramadan dinner and spoke highly of Mr. Mohammed’s work.

Mr. Mohammed was on former Gov. Jon S. Corzine’s short list of potential judicial appointees, but he was not nominated. He would serve on the court in Passaic County. His appointment requires confirmation by the State Senate.

Chris Christie slams fearmongering over Sharia law

“Sharia law has nothing to do with this at all. It’s crazy. It’s crazy,” Christie said at a press conference Wednesday. “The guy’s an American citizen who has been an admitted lawyer to practice in the state of New Jersey, swearing an oath to uphold the laws of New Jersey, the constitution of the state of New Jersey, and the Constitution of the United States of America . . . .This Sharia law business is crap. It’s just crazy. And I’m tired of dealing with the crazies.”

Excerpts From Ronald Reagan's 1975 Speech To CPAC

I don ‘t know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, "We must broaden the base of our party"--when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.

It was a feeling that there was not a sufficient difference now between the parties that kept a majority of the voters away from the polls. When have we ever advocated a closed-door policy? Who has ever been barred from participating?

Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

Sickening. To think Christie can actually think some sodomite-—who glorifies his demeaning, vile behavior-—can be “Virtuous”. He has no logic. He does not believe in God-Given Rights. That there is a “right” to “sodomy” is a very sick, illogical way to think, Christie.

Christie is trying to force the idea that “sodomy” is “good” and “virtuous” behavior. It turns Judeo/Christian Ethics on its head. Upside down.

Can’t go against the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God-—Christie. There is a Right and Wrong-—God’s Rules—not Barney Frank’s sickening vile, lifestyle which demeans the body and God’s creation. Even animals don’t sodomize each other and their young. Sick, Christie-—SICK to put these ideas into the heads of our young boys——trying to normalize such dysfunction. Shame on you.

A glimpse of what life would be like under a Romney administration. The RINOs are every bit as liberal as Democrats on social issues. They all go to the same cocktail parties and they all mock the great unwashed in flyover country. They feign conservatism to get our support and then veer left as soon as they take office.

What, Christie couldn’t find a qualified gay, black, Asian immigrant to nominate? By wasting two picks instead of combining the four features in a single nominee, he wasn’t able to nominate to the second seat a Native American, Mennonite midget born at sea. How long must New Jersey wait for a state supreme court that looks like America?

Black man or Asian - no problem.

And if Mitt is elected, THIS IS THE GUY WHO WILL BE THE AG!!!!!

in case anyone thinks that Christie simply appointed the best available legal minds to the Court who, coincidentally, were from racial minorities and/or homosexual, think again. Christie hailed the appointments as “historic” in terms of “diversity”. He engaged in an affirmative action exercise of the type that is an affront to liberty and conservatism.

“I am proud to be standing here today to announce two historic nominations to the New Jersey State Supreme Court,” Christie said, expressing “extreme confidence in their records and respect for their intellect.” (from the article posted above)

Whats wrong with post #15? And a half dozen others prior to #29?

Besides, just looking at Christies action logically and how its been promoted, how likely do you think it is that these two were the best qualified?

IMO the same as a snowballs chance in hell. His decision was based exclusively on political considerations.

that is not a sane reaction.

look at what happened in california where a homosexual judge imposed his personal fetish on a court ruling. Judges do not leave their personal opinions at the door. Will this judge’s office be a “union” shop which favors homosexuals? Such behavior is demonstrable.

Chistie has torched his bridges with his stand for Romney and some of his other issues. He is an elitist who is bifucating conservatism in to balkan categories.

Conservative is conservative. Not fiscal, social, or defense etc. conservative.
